Thanks guys.
That is what I thought, printing full name and not signing it.
Thanks again....

Guys
I got naturalized recently (yay) and got the certificate of naturalization, the question I have do I need to "sign OR write my full name"? The certificate says "complete and true signature of the holder", I asked one of the USCIS guys and they gave me a vague answer saying whatever way you sign your name. I would still like to know so that I don't mess it up.
Thanks.

Hi Guys
I was wondering what line of questions they ask these days for a spouse being interviewed on the basis of another spouse who is a US Citizen? My spouse is a US Citizen and so I want to be prepared for my future interview and was wondering besides the usual civic questions what other type of questions I should be reading or worried about? I would appreciate if anyone can just list them or give some examples which will help me excel the interview process.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys
I was wondering as to why USCIS Dallas is taking a long time in scheduling an interview. I had applied for the Citizenship back in May 2016, got my biometrics done and haven't heard from them since then, are they super slow?
I looked at the website, as of September 2016 they were processing March 28, 2016 applications, obviously it is not updated yet but was wondering if any of you have similar situation and are waiting...
Thanks.

Hi Guys
I have a general question, I am currently under the Citizenship process and since I have not yet received an interview, am I allowed to travel outside of US for 15 days during this process?
Also, let's say if I am done with the interview but awaiting Oath Ceremony, can I still travel outside of US for 15 days? I will surely track the process online, but wanted to know if I am allowed to travel outside of US for a short period of time.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi Guys
My spouse just applied for the citizenship and am not sure how long will it take from start to finish, especially after biometrics? I have heard typically it takes 6 mos, but not sure if that is true.
Also, I need to apply for the passport of our child born in US, does it matter if I apply now or wait for my spouse to get the citizenship? I am a US citizen.
Thanks.

If your GC date is more than 5 years ago (the date you became an LPR, not the date when you arrived on your K-1), then it is easier to file under the 5-year rule simply because they will ask for less evidence/documentation (bank statements, USC spouse's proof of being USC, etc.). Otherwise, you can file under the 3-year rule. Either way won't hurt.
Edit: Really, it is 90 days before the appropriate 3- or 5-year timeframe that you can file the N-400 application.
Hi,
Thanks for the update. The date on GC is 2011 so I guess I could use either of the two options, doesn't hurt because at the end of the day it comes out to be the same.
The checklist for the documentation is relatively same for either options you choose. The checklist states to provide bank statements, lease/mortgage docs, if you have kids then certificate of birth etc. so I will need to provide all this regardless since it is reflected on the checklist.

Hi Guys
I am applying for my citizenship for the US and since I came on K1 (Fiancee Visa) 5 years ago, the question I have on the Form N-400 (page 1), should I select the first option that I have been a lawful permanent resident for 5 years OR the 2nd option which states I have been a permanent resident for past 3 years who has been married to a US citizen for past 3 years?
I have been a permanent resident for past at least 3 years and my husband is a US citizen as well, but am a bit confused which option to select or is it better just to be on the safe side to select the first option.
Thanks.

Hey Harpa,
Thanks for the update.
I had sent my bank statements, but yes forgot about the lease so I have already contacted my old management and they said they will provide a letter stating we both lived at the place and the time period as well.
Is there anything else I need to provide?

Hi Guys
I need a big help here. I had submitted all necessary documents for the removal of conditional status of my spouse. However, the USCIS came back saying they need more evidence. What more information can I give them besides tax returns, bank stmts, life insurance, joint auto documents, travel documents such as air tickets etc.
I lost a copy of my old lease and we moved to a new place (have joint lease at the new one which I will provide a copy to them), can I provide them with a letter from the old management? Can I provide photos of our various trips?
Thanks

Yes, per the I-751 instructions your friends needs to get the letter notarized:
Below is the link to I-751 instructions:

Good Luck!
Below is the letter i have drafted for my I-751:
AFFIDAVIT
My name is Friend name, date of birth is DD/MMM/YYYY and I was born in City, State Zip code.
Please be advised that I have known Beneficiary since year, and Petitioner since year and was present in their marriage on wedding date.
I maintain regular contact with them and we visit each other’s places on a frequent basis. They demonstrate an ongoing relationship and I anticipate their marriage will remain a lifetime commitment. To the best of my knowledge, they seem to operate as a very happy family. The couple has a strong bond, mutual understanding among them, and they really care for one another.
If you have any questions or comments regarding their relationship and my friendship with them, please feel free to contact me at any time.
Sincerely,
Friend name

Guys
I am about to fill out I-751 for Removal of Conditional Green Card. One of the requirement is to have sworn affidavits of 2 people, do I need to notarize that or it's just plain letter with their signature??
Thanks
-

guys
i will be applying for removal of conditional status of my wife, can she travel outside of US for 4 days??

Adjustment of status and removal of conditions are 2 different things. Your timeline is out of date so it is difficult to determine what you need

Removal of Conditions Guide http://www.visajourney.com/content/751guide
When did your wife enter the US? Does she have her green card? How long has she been a resident?
good luck
Thanks
Yes my wife has a green card for 2 years, now need to remove her conditional status.

Guys
My wife came on K-1 Fiancee Visa and now I want to apply to remove her 2 year conditional status to get permanent green card, which form do I fill out? Is it I-485?
Thanks
-
Guys
My wife got her green card but with her name since form I-485 does not reflect a box if you want to put your new name (after marriage)
What do I do? They said I should file Form I-90 and pay $450? Also since we are changing her name, will change the signature as well so everything is same and no issues in future.
Any thoughts?
Thanks Guys
-
But the form states I need to pay $380?

Guys
I am about to apply for I-765 (EAD) for my wife who came on K-1 visas.
I already applied for I-485 (Adjustment of Status) and paid the fees.
The question is, do I need to pay for I-765? Also besides a copy of my pending I-485 and Photos, is there anything else I need to attach?
Thanks
Names Change
in General Immigration-Related Discussion

Hi Guys,
I need some advice relating to the change of name (spelled differently) for a friend who did that some time ago. His file is with the US Immigration (family based) and some time ago he changed his name for which he has appropriate documentation. However, since he is married I am assuming the married name of the wife and their child's middle name and last name also needs to be the same, correct?
I believe they will need to have an affidavit for all 3 and change in their passports as well, correct?
I need some direction so I can explain him what he needs to do so that they are prepared when their time comes for the interview.
Thanks.
