Hi everyone!
Just sent our I-751 through certified mail today, the 24th, to the CSC!

Hope someone can help me. I ve got my interview day and it will be in 2 weeks, but I still didn't get the letter with all the information about the interview. they sent me the letter on September 27.. And it usually take 2, 3 days to get the letter. I don't know what happened and don't know what to do, because I can't go to the interview without it. I called immigration but they said I should wait 30 days if I don't get it then I call them again, but then it will be the day of my interview... ;/
Also, my husband is in boot camp, I know I can go by myself but I just want to know if I need to let them know about it or I can just go by myself??
Thanks in advance
We haven't received our letter, either. When we spoke to an officer on the 800 number (not the people that read from scripts
), he told us to call back 3 days before our interview so they can fax a letter to us. His explanation was that they can not fax things earlier than that. I would call and ask to speak to an officer. Maybe he can tell you if the letter they sent to you got returned to them.

When we went to the biometrics appointment, the lad in front of us was unable to even find his passport and brought his drivers license. The lady checking everyone in went to ask her supervisor, and came back just a moment later with no issue.

My husband (the non-USC) and I sent off our AOS packet on June 17th. We naively assumed that since it was a separate application from the I-129F that we could fill out the application with our new address and all would be fine. We received email notification that our NOA1 was returned back to them. This was on June 30th. We called the service center and updated our address and filled out the AR-11 form with our new address.
A few days later, we receive a duplicate copy of our NOA1 in our mailbox. The cover letter with our new address was correct, and made it to our post, however, the updated address on our NOA was correct save for the zip code had not been updated. This wasn't brought to our attention until August 16th or so, when I had been impatiently waiting for the biometrics appointment letter to show up. I called the service center and had been informed we missed our biometrics appointment.
Long story short, after speaking with several officers, some more helpful than others, they all agreed that it was an error by USCIS and unfortunately, not much can be done because they had already filled out a Change of Address request and could not do another one for another 30 days.
One officer finally told us that our new biometrics appointment was scheduled for the 6th of September. I had to do a bit of researching just to find the address of the place we need to go to for our appointment.
All of these errors has cost us an additional two months in wait time. We're in no rush for Paul's GC, we just really need his work authorisation to come through so we can start our lives back up. Now I'm worried after we do the biometrics on Tuesday, we won't receive anything further in the mail.
Any suggestions on how I can get USCIS to send us our mail??

We laugh about it now, but we did the same thing when we sent off our K1 packet. We were travelling, and naively thought we could just send the application on it's way and a few months from then, be on our way back to America. Once we actually got to a computer and found this site, we immediately sent off another packet with all of the required documents and payments. We didn't wait for them to return the original application. That one just got sent back to us later while the new one starting processing.

I am having the same problem! I am living in Spain until August and we are trying to figure out how to pay. I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one struggling with this part. I have called every number they list and tried to talk to everyone possible in every office and they are all rude and can give you no help---Don't bother calling them. I even got yelled at today by some woman saying that I should call the people I have already called who gave me her number. WHATEVER. I think the best option is what was said above-- have someone from the US send you a check or money order to put in with your I-129f. But as others have warned you, look at all the information and be absolutely SURE that you are going about this is the correct way for your situation. You may end up stuck in the US and very frustrated.
Best of luck
My UKC fiance and I were travelling around as we were preparing our I-129F. What we did is shipped all of the documents to my mother in the States to have her put the packet together more neatly than we could have (there wasn't room in our backpacks for paperclips and such
). She also wrote a check from her account, and later we reimbursed her through Paypal. The check being written by her was never a problem.

Can someone tell me if I can get my London interview date from the extortion hotline, or is it only the DOS that can tell me..?
I'm itching to find out if they've set my date yet! Especially as they seem to be forgetting to send letters and only giving minimal notice at the mo...
I called the extortion line to get our interview date, but they hadn't logged it in yet. $16, please.
The next day I called DOS and they were able to tell me the date.
Just keep calling back to DOS. Imagine my delight, too, when I realised you could skip that long automated message.

Hi, we just got our NOA2 and are working on the remaining docs.
On the acpo thing, it says someone official/professional who has also known my fiance for two years or more must sign the back of his photo and the application?
what is considered official? :s he doesn't have a set dr, only medical staff that he's known for that long is a good drive away.(he moved from Lee to West Yorkshire this year.) He also doesn't have any line of work, so thats out of the question really. And same case about old teachers being in Lee.
His best friend, who has known him since middle school works for the government doing payroll(i'm not sure what job title he has offically). would this work?
any help on the would be great. thanks ^^
Yes, that would work

Fatima's K-1 visa was just approved last week, and now I'm visiting her in London to celebrate!
We're hoping to plan out her move while I am here.
Any recommendations on shipping methods or companies?
Our funds are limited, and she won't be bringing that much stuff...
Possibly a few items of furniture (shared sea cargo container?)
And/or a few boxes of miscellaneous items (clothing, books, etc.)
AND we need to bring her cat Nemo over as well!
I'll be flying back to portland on the 28th, and could take some stuff with me as excess baggage...
Not sure how the charges compare with shipping stuff other ways...
Any info or direction would be helpful!!
Thanks,
Doug B
I'm from Portland as well, so it looks like we'll be helping the Brit population over here
As far as shipping, Paul and I haven't decided on which one to go with yet, but you can find some info here
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/128548-yes-its-another-shipping-thread/
And you can Google some reviews for the companies you're interested in.
Good luck on the move!

Case number and your fiance's details like DOB so they can locate the file. I'm fairly certain that's all they ask me to locate his case.

I paid the fee as soon as we had our case number and it was confirmed that the Embassy in London had in fact logged our information.
Yeah, paying them $16 to give them some more was kind of painful, but in the end, I figure it's all going to be worth it
I don't see why there would be any problem with using a pre-paid credit card you can pick up at the grocery store. My friend uses them all the time to pay his utility bills without any problem.

My fiance's family demands the Lucky Charms and Tootsie rolls!! And now my friends are demanding the Haribo sour cherries from him!!!
It was a running joke on our trip about Twinkies, Ding Dongs, and Ho Hos. I finally had my mother ship over a box of Twinkies to satisfy everyone's curiosity. Not really the tea time snack they were looking for

she's tired of being in London - no offense to any Brits. She said she would prefer to be waiting in Brazil
I know I can speak for my Brit and tell you that with the weather the UK is having right now, he'd prefer to be waiting in Brazil too

we're curious if anyone has tried paying the visa fee at the embassy instead of over the phone well before the interview? my fiance will be in london on friday for his medical and is thinking he may stop by there just to see if he can pay it in person since he'll be in the neighborhood... any ideas if it is worth trying?
I don't think you're allowed into the Embassy unless you have an appointment and proof of pre-payment. I couldn't even get into the London Embassy as a USC without an appointment. Sorry, one of you will have to call the Extortion Line.

You would need your case number issued after your NOA2 in order to even book the medical exam. While you're waiting for your NOA2, I would suggest applying for the Police Certificate (it's good for 12 months) and gathering vaccination records since you will need both for the medical.
Come hang out in the UK Regional Forum, you'll probably find a lot of your answers there. I certainly did.

, which is just an extra incentive to buy him plenty of booze (although he insists all American bear is 'piss').
My little Welsh Cake is quite impressed with American microbrews. Sounds like yours need to try some of our NW beers
And even though I'm the USC, I feel I got objectified over in the UK! Little old shop ladies loved hearing me say "California".

I left England with my British fiance in November so he could come visit for the holidays. We were a bit nervous, but came prepared with everything we could. When we got to Border Control in the States, he actually got questioned less at the border than I did. Hope everything goes well for you!

Jay,
My fiance just had his medical yesterday the 3rd. When we receive the letter with his interview date, I'll let you know. I was curious about the same thing. It seems some people are getting their interview dates rather quickly while some seem to be waiting two months or so between medicals and interviews.
-
They DEFINITELY send you the receipt through email.
It gives you further instructions and has you print it out for you to sign and present at your interview.
I paid through the £1.20/min number the day we received our Packet 3 in the mail.
-
I had mine in december, you have to have your police certificate and also your vaccination records from doc, you need mmr and tdap boosters if not had within past ten years.
Thanks for the quick reply!

Hello all!
My UKC fiance is currently visiting me here in the States using VWP. While he was here we received our NOA2 and sent his Packet 3 forms back to the Embassy in London. He flies out on 1st February, so we booked his medical exam for the 3rd so he doesn't have to make multiple trips to London.
My question is this. When booking his medical over the phone, the operator was rattling off a list of things to bring, all of which were on the website, but she mentioned he would need to bring his Police Certificate with him. This isn't mentioned on the Embassy's website as required documents to bring.
Can you all tell me your recent experience with the Medical Exam and if this indeed required? His police certificate will be in Wales when he arrives back, and he won't have time to go retrieve it if we keep the current medical date.
Also, is anyone aware of how long it is currently taking between Medical Exams to Interview Date?
Thank you!!!

Our NOA2 was dated ONE DAY before our 5 month mark (July CSC filers). You'll get yours soon!
-
We got an email saying we've been approved! The happy dance I did afterward was embarrassing, but well deserved! Everyone's will be coming soon!!!

Sarah-
My British fiance and I are about to do the same thing! We're flying into the States on the 5th, so we can let you know what happens. His situation is pretty similar to yours - sold his house and quit his job to go travelling, however, he doesn't have a single family member. So as far as proving "strong ties" to the UK ... he really can't.
We just know that he has no intentions of staying, so we're bringing just about all the proof we can through bank statements, car registry, etc. I'm trying not to get too nervous since I know our intentions are good
But I understand how frustrating it is since everyone would like a clear cut answer.

Hello everyone!
Checked the mail and had both the NOA1 and the biometric appointment set for 8/23!
