^^^ Good advice.
You should use your time off to be with her in the U.S.
... i completely agree with carton025 and tahoma ...
... good luck ...
-
... apply under the legal name you are currently using ...
... and i am assuming, your maiden name ...
... at the AKA box, write whatever aliases you used (i.e. your former married name) ...
... both the above can be written in one application ...
good luck ...

... i would say - baguio city - one of the many ideal places to retire ...
... that is, if you prefer mountains and climate (temp ranges from 55F to 80F all year round) ...
... if you need more information about baguio city, you can google it or ask me ...
... hope this helps ...
Thanks. It is weird, I hate her for marrying me, she could not love me if she would not contact for me all this time only 2 months after we were married. But in my mind, I wait for her to come back. It is unbelievable someone could befriend you for all this time, and then poof!!! The lure of a green card, and following the rules of not contacting me must be stronger than love. Me on the other hand, I am still considering of giving up on my own country and retiring in the Philippines in 2014. Know any good places that are not super expensive to retire there? Thanks again.

... suggest you look for the yellow airport taxi ... they are generally cheaper than the other airport taxis ... and most of the time, than the ordinary taxis .... and safer, more convenient too !!!

... i completely agree with this ... the affidavit of finality is very crucial - next to annotated marriage contract ... the affidavit of finality should be furnished by the court who granted the final decision ... this affidavit, together with all those mentioned below, shall be presented to NSO for the basis of the issuance of the annotated marriage contract for submission to the USEM ... as an additional info, make sure that the final decision has the judge's signature, not just "original signed" ...
... hope this helps ...
As others have pointed out you will need to inlude a IMBRA waiver request for exceeding the filing limitations with your petition. Annulment docs may refer to the Decision, the Finality, the Certificate Of Registeration and the Anotated Marriage Contract. Include all of these with your petiton if you like but at a minimum be sure to include the decree.
Good Luck completeing your visa journey I understand what you are going through.

... some branches of the bank of the philippine islands can issue a HK bank draft - they require that - either your wife to be a depositor (she can open an account, and just maintain it for the required months) - or your wife can use an existing account of friends/relatives, provided they have to be both physically present when acquiring the draft...
... as for the fingerprint, she can go to any police station that can issue the certified card ...
... good luck ...
I need to get a police clearance from Hong Kong for my wife who is pursuing and Immigrant visa as spouse of a US citizen. Has anyone done this? Where can I get a bank draft in Hong Kong dollars in Manila to send to them? You can do this out of Hong Kong, but you need the back draft in Hong Kong dollars. Also, she needs to get finger printed from a police authority and it has to be certified. Where can we do that? I hope someone reading this has been through it.
Thanks,
Douglas

... most of the philipine banks have a dormancy period of 2 years ...
... if there is no activity within 2 years, they deduct a monthly service charge ...
... other banks, upon request, can mail you monthly bank statements ...
... suggest you inquire from your bank directly any other possibilities ...
... chinabank is one of the philippine banks that are currently stable ...
... you may want to try banco de oro (BDO), metrobank (MBTC)and bank of the philippine islands (BPI)...
... hope this helps ...
Our only fear is that if the account has no activity for a certain amount of time they might just close it. I don't know what the law is on dormant accounts.

... celebration was a "shared" one !!!
... that is how it should be !!!
... yes, the end of the process is something we all look forward to ...
... but ... i am sure you will still "stay and be with us" ...
Thanks guys.
Chinook and I celebrated last night by having dinner at one of our favorite seafood restaurants. Chinook and I split an appetizer of steamed clams and mussels. Then Chinook had the pan-fried oysters and I had the silver salmon. For dessert, we split a wild mountain blackberry cobbler ala mode...and got another one to go!
It feels great to have come to the end of the process.
-
... congratulations !!!!
... this calls for a celebration !!!
... so happy for both of you !!!
-
... take note please that the website of the embassy said "WITH derogatory record"...
... i said "NO derogatory record"...
... those are not two the same bananas...
Wrong information!!!!
-
... if your NBI clearance would state :
NO PENDING CASE, or NO CRIMINAL RECORD, or NO RECORDS ON FILE, make sure to get an explanation from them about this.....
on the other hand, if it says " NO DEROGATORY RECORD ", this means NBI clearance would stand alone and is so very fine, would not be needing further explanation
... my personal advise is - stop worrying, get the clearance first, and just make the necessary steps once you have the result of the NBI thing.... as they say, live one day at a time...
good luck ...
I will get one soon I'm just waiting for the advise if I can start gathering all my requirements. But in case I have a record even if its not criminal will it affect my petition or not?

... try The Fort ...
... greenbelt is in Makati ...
... megamall and greenhills in one area... both in ortigas ...
if i were to choose, i would consider :
... the fort (in taguig but near makati)
... makati area (condos along buendia, dela rosa, near makati sports)
(we normally stay in these areas since we attend meetings in the central
business district)
... MOA is ok, but i consider it a little far from the CBD _ i.e. ayala, ortigas
... eastwood in quezon city is ok, but the farthest of those mentioned
... if you have sometime to spare, why not explore other places?
... palawan, bohol, sagada, baguio, hundred islands, etc...
... but depends on your taste ...
good luck and enjoy!!!
-
... the psychiatric and psychological evaluation/test depends on her annulment papers...
... there are annulment cases wherein the court decision state that BOTH the defendant and petitioner are psychologically incapacitated... in this case, the psychiatrist at st lukes MAY request for a further evaluation - a psychological test (done in cubao, quezon city) - and result expected within 2 weeks... havent heard of anybody "failing" in this type of test... just to establish that person in psychologically sound...
... if, on the other hand, the annulment decision states that the ex husband was evaluated to be the only one psychologically incapacitated, the psychiatrist at st lukes may NOT recommend further tests, therefore, proceed with the next step, which is immunization...
... as for the US embassy, it is widely advised that the medical examination be on file before the fiance's interview, so therefore, strongly advise to reset interview...
... just my piece of advise...
... good luck...
-
... you are welcome....
Ok, will do, thanks.
-
... make sure that the MNL number is stated in the letter from the US embassy Manila... this would minimize, if not prevent, delays....
good luck...
-
... although we maintain accounts in the philippines, we normally send money to ourselves via xoom - wherever we are - whether philippines or USA... safe and fast !!!.. just a piece of advise.... use a very secured internet connection when you do that.... choose a plug - in , not a wi fi...
we are comfortable having this transaction with a bank than any other institution...
-
... suggest St. Mary's ...
... lesser people, lesser problem...
-
... from my experience, it was ok.... smooth, and just be yourself...
... have a safe flight !!!
-
hi ethel_eric...
and all who share same goal...
been here in the US for almost a year now but not working ...
would welcome a number of good friends around....
just leave a message...
btw, im an idaho resident ...
-
.. if this is any consolation to you, i live up in the mountains of idaho... we get as low as negative 40... but as NoneYa said, "just dress warm and enjoy it"...
... find some interesting things to do - maybe inside the house first ... then eventually activities outside.... there are lots, im sure.... just try to research online...
... thats what i did and found really interesting ones ... and get involved ... the cold is just a factor ...
... im sure you will be fine ...
... welcome to the USA !!!
-
... fingerprints considered ???

... it is not that easy to "fake" a marriage ...
