  1. Hi Guys. My first post on here. Very Grateful for all the info that everyone has shared on here!

We don't have our K1 interview date just yet, but our NOA2 / NVC letter is done and package is in the US Embassy in Manila.

My fiance lives in Makati and she is planning to get her Advance Medical Exam at ST LUKES on Monday or Tuesday June 13/14 or sometime that week. She would feel more comfortable if she could have a companion that day, who is also going to the exam, to meet there ahead of time. Perhaps if there is another VJ member who is also going to have their medical exam that day - they can meet up.

If anyone is interested please let me know and you can exchange emails/contact info with her.

    Thanks!

My Fiancee is going for her medical next week sometime, I will check with her. Her interview is July 6th. She works in Makati.. She does not work on Monday so chaos or not she may decide to go then..

  2. Can anyone please tell me how I can make an appointment for my K1 interview. Should I call or i can do it online?, kindly give me the link... Thank you so much and God bless..

Don't bother trying to schedule online, it usually doesn't work. Save yourself from wasting a bunch of time and just call to schedule the interview. I went through this last week. Good luck!!

  3. Good Morning everyone,

I am double checking everything, like I always do! I think if I could have opened our sealed petition, and sealed packet 3 to check one more time I would have! I tell you, this process makes temporary crazy people out of us

My question of the day is for Question 11 on the I-134 form did you all follow the example forms and leave the boxes blank (I intend, do not intend) and in the line below type in N/A K1 visa process for permanent residence.I noted on other threads people checked intend and below wrote comments such as 'fully support so the beneficiary will not become a public charge'.

I bought a sturdy accordian type file and have everything neatly labeled and placed so documents are at my fingertips if the consulate officer asks. This will also come in handy for AOS.

    Have a nice day,

    Lise

Well, I decided to put what I thought they wanted to hear which is I answered: yes, and said that I would provide room & board, clothing, transportation and a cash amount weekly for misc. & entertainment. This is of course all true. My hope is that my fiancee will not have to answer 20 million financial and "how will you be supported?" questions. She will be my wife, of course I will support her. I will do some more research before AOS that is a little more binding and specific I think?

  4. DizzyLox and all fellow December filers who are ahead of me, can you please tell me if any of you got an email or letter from NVC? The last document I received was my NOA2 in the mail.

This is my 10th day at NVC. I called NVC last night and they have not sent my case over to the consulate.

My congratulations to all who are ahead of me!! :)

I had no luck with the NVC until I received a letter from them stating that my case had been forwarded to the Embassy. Make sure if you call NVC talk to a real person not the automated system that seems to not work very well.. Good luck!!!

Seriously, just call. I tried all of this last night and my case number was not valid so I called and I had to hold for 25 minutes (the USA number) but I was able to schedule my Fiancee's interview for July 6th, that was the earliest date as of last night. I wanted the interview in June, no slots available. I had no luck scheduling online. Calling was easy..

  6. Hi Guys! I have been wondering in the desert of Eastern Oregon for a week with my 15 year old son, seriously we had great fun! Also we have managed to book Jenie Bee's interview for July 6th, later than I hoped for but at least we have a date to look forward to. Now she just has to survive the medical exam and all should be good! Okay, now I am off to research how to schedule the medical exam!!

It's funny I remember a few months ago coming to our thread like 100 times a day, also checking Igor's list, visiting the portal page etc.. Now everything is moving so quickly, seems like I barely have time!!! Does anyone else feel this way?? It's so exciting!!!

  7. Called NVC today and spoke to a real person. I called last week and a real person said our case had arrived the day before (May 18) and received the NVC number LNDxxxxxxx. I have called umpteen billion times the automated number, and to this day "no record" our USCIS or NVC numbers. Finally called to speak to a real person again today....and found out our case was sent to the Embassy May 19, the day after it was received. Called the automated portion again to check.....it still says "no record" of either of our receipt/case numbers!! So lesson learned - speak to a real person. Of course I've seen other posts here where you *did* speak to someone who told you one thing....then you receive an email or usps letter saying different. I personally think it's all completely FUBAR. Anyway, based on DHL tracking, London consulate signed for our case yesterday, May 23. So hopefully Byron will receive the Packet 3 soon. He already has everything ready to go, including a medical booked June 8. Fingers crossed, for ALL of you as well as us....

BIG-SMOOOCH to all my Decemberite friends!!

Dizzy, when I saw your post....my heart dropped. Been thinking about how crazy...absolutely flippin' crazy...I would be if that happened to me. I am so sorry....and I am keeping my fingers crossed for you...(and the rest of you waiting as well!)

    Yes, FUBAR, good description!!

  8. Manilatoseattle, sorry to hear about the sputum test, I suspect Jenie Bee will need one as well. You have a very good attitude!!

Mari, happy to hear that today is a better day for you! Hay since I have your attention, why do I keep reading about packets? Packet this, Packet that??!! Do I need to be making some sort of packet??

    Just kidding!!!

    Rex

  9. Well. I found my case. It's still at USCIS - VSC.

The officer said it's bouncing from cart to cart. My heart broke when I heard it. It hasn't even made it out the door yet. They put in a service request, and i emailed a copy of I-797 to NVC so they can inquire as well.

Dizzy, bouncing from cart to cart?? I am suspicious of the accuracy of that information, hmmm. I am sure it will get worked out soon. It is confusing for sure.

Has anyone heard from Mari since yesterday morning? She seemed a little "at wits end" contrary to the organized girl who has helped us all along this journey and some of us more than once, ok, some of us several more times than once. I hope all is well for you Mari. I was feeling a little guilty because I am one of the lucky ones who can open my cell phone and call my Fiancee anytime and I do so each day. What a luxury!

  10. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR THREAD THIS MORNING?

Someone put a post up about being removed from Dizzy's list because the relationship dissolved and then an administrator put up a post about not following the rules of VJ and being banned from further access yadda yadda yadda. Now both of those posts are gone like nothing ever happened.

I'm not sure if the two posts were connected or not, but something fishy has happened in our thread and I DON'T LIKE IT. It's especially weird if the administrator did remove the first post because it didn't seem at all offensive, just an honest request to update the list we keep. I just feel kind of funny about this whole censorship thing in general and then to find all traces of the censorship removed...well, it feels a little like 1984 (the book, not the year). Hmmmmmm...maybe I was dreaming.

Well, I'm off to destroy newspapers thereby removing all traces of history while Big Brother watches(a little 1984 humor).

Now I have decided that today is a really odd, strange and weird day!

  11. Ok, here is my mystery of the day, called the NVC and was told by alive human, no record of your case give it 2 more weeks and call back. Ok fine!! :protest: So I am at my work and I go to the mail box at lunch time and there is a letter to me at my work address from NVC stating my case was received and will be forwarded to the Manila Embassy within a week. And it has a MNL case number.

So why didn't they tell me on the phone? and why was it mailed to my work address?

    Weird!!

    Rex (happy Rex)

PS: Marie, your day will get better!

PSS: Dizzy, go check your mail box, work too!

  12. I know the USCIS is interested in that one little detail when reviewing our applications  I know they have their reasons for checking. I know some people believe in love at first sight and others like the wait it out a little. I'm actually the former of the two. Hopefully USCIS doesn't see that as their own red flag *crossing fingers* Anywho, where do guys fall under? Whether you're already married or just received your NOA1, what was your dating time before the marriage proposal?

Just a friendly chat thread :D

There are so many factors to consider about falling in love, each case is different for sure. I met my fiancee online in March 2010, then spent a week with her in September in person. That was all that was required in our case, we were each looking and kind of knew what we were looking for and found that in each other. We have NOA # 2 now and hope she can be here in July..

  13. Can we talk about proof of ongoing relationship? Not proof of having met in the last 2 years for the I-129F I am talking proof of ongoing relationship that the beneficiary brings to the interview. You see being ignorant and brain dead to the ways of the K-1 visa process, I thought Jenie Bee would arrive here by late May early June, so for financial reasons and also she would have difficulty getting leave from work I scrubbed my March trip to the Philippines.

:bonk: Now we have limited proof of an ongoing relationship, here is what we have: phone records of our daily phone calls (I call her each day at 5:00 PM) we have engagement ring receipt and of course she has the ring. We have 40 million emails, also a letter from the pastor who will marry us (in the event she actually arrives here someday) and I have a deposit slip for the chapel. Oh, and she has a visa debit card that I sent in November we use that rather than Western Union. We chat on YM each Saturday but I have no clue as to how to get a transcript of that? We have not been together since September 14th :( Is this enough evidence or should I start job searching in Manila again?

  14. Hey guys. Just an update on my RFE situation. The RFE was acknowledged by VSC on May 16th, so you can probably add that to our Decemberite timeline, DizzyLox. We're in RFE Response Review limbo now. It's kind of frustrating to have to wait what could be an additional month or more before VSC looks at our RFE. Oh well, I'm trying to be patient and give them the 60 days they say it'll take.

What was your RFE for? Probably something silly!

  15. How is everyone today? All ok??

Hay Dizzy, we are good! Just waiting on my bank statement letter (bank employee required "remotivation" on Friday but the Branch Manager was cool!) then I can send Sweet Pea the packet.

I am kind of wishing Tim & Mav and some of our other friends would get NOA # 2 it makes me want to call some one and give them the :protest: well, you know what I mean...

    Rex

  16. Guys my girl has just broke it off. She said that she can't do the waiting anylonger. How many of you have dealt with this and made it through it?

Sorry to hear this. I agree with others don't cancel out your petition yet, the approval may change her feelings. I have been amazed at the emotional roller coaster this has been so far, and I have not done as well as I would have liked dealing with it. So I can certainly understand, but when the NOA #2 arrives and it will, things will improve. I wish you and her the very best!!

  17. so I'm already starting to ask those AOS questions because packet 3 is in the bag so naturally i'm moving right along and driving Mr. Loxy crazy. He'll thank me later when AOS is easy peasy.

Here is a post I just put in the AOS forum:

We are a K-1 expecting to adjust status after we get married.

    1) I'm confused, do I have to or not have to file I-130? I don't see it in the guides, but I saw it on the USCIS site.

    2) You're supposed to file AOS before I-94 runs out? Seriously? What if we plan on getting married on the 88th day? Should he wait to enter the U.S. so we have enough time for marriage plus AOS filage?

    3) If answer to number 1 is Yes, do we file the I-130 and I-485 together? Or do we have to wait to file the I-485 until I-130 goes through?

    4) I'm guessing soon as honey lands he can file for SS#? I thought I read that somewhere even though that sounds crazy to me.

    ---

booyah. if you know the answers now you get brownie points

(praying for the rest of the NOA2s to come through)

Dizzy, DIDO, I have the same questions! Also if we get the SSN after arrival and before the wedding, we will have to turn around and get the name changed on the SSN. Why not just wait until after the wedding to get the SSN??

These are amazing times for sure!!

  18. Just checked our case status today, and we got an RFE!

Yaaaaaaaaay! I'm just happy they actually looked at it. I wonder what it's for as my fiance and I took care to make sure we got everything and we provided a ton of solid evidence of having met in the last two years. I think it probably has to do with either my citizenship or my employment history. Though both of those items seem trivial to send an RFE out for. We'll see, I guess.

Welcome to the RFE Dog House, wish I had a better name for it. We use to be next to each other on the December filers list before the CSC VSC split, do you remember?? Anyways, I am sure this means you guys are just a few weeks from NOA# 2 now. Take care..

  19. Ok, some of you may know that my fiancée had her interview on April 13 and was told that she was approved. Well, we waited and waited and never got notice from 2GO that her visa was being delivered. Based on other timelines we were expecting that she would have her visa by April 18th (she was staying in Manila) and be able to fly here on the 19th. How wrong we were. On April 18th I called the embassy to see if here visa had been printed. I was told that while all of her documentation was in order and her interview went well and she had in fact passed her interview, the consular officer had not yet signed off on her visa printing and was holding her visa for a reason that they were not allowed to tell me over the phone. They told me to just wait and her visa would be printed soon. Ok, so I am pissed off but I will wait a little longer. I call back on the 20th and check again. Still nothing and no movement and there is no telling when my fiancée's visa will be approved for printing. I think the CO is asleep at the wheel. Since it is the Holy Week and the embassy is closed on Thursday and Friday I decide that the only way for me to proceed is to go the the Philippines and confront them my self. I booked a flight out of Phoenix on Friday night and arrived in Manila on Sunday morning. Monday, April 25th, we went to the Embassy and again inquired about her visa. It still has not been printed and we were again told that everything was in order and there was no reason for the hold up. I asked if there was anything I could do, talk to her superior, talk to the CO, etc. She told me that I could write a letter to the CO requesting an expedite. I am thinking, ask for an expedite! It has already been 2 weeks since her interview approval. What needs to be expedited? So I write my letter basically begging the CO to send her visa for printing since I am leaving the Philippines on April 30 and want my fiancée to be on the flight with me. We leave hopeful and upset. Nothing on Tuesday on the 2GO website so Wednesday we go back to the Embassy to inquire again. They are closed. The IV unit is having training that day so there is no one there. Still nothing on the 2GO website on Wednesday. We go back to the Embassy on Thursday and viola, they tell us that her visa is out for delivery. Now if you were told that your visa was out for delivery you would think that means that the courier has it. Well, not if that is what the Embassy tells you. It means that the Embassy is getting everything together to eventually give to the courier. So we wait some more. Remember that my flight leaves on Saturday and it is Thursday. The courier does not have her visa yet. She does not have her CFO sticker yet. I do not have a plane ticket for her yet. Friday morning at about 8:30 I check the 2GO website and it says that they have her visa in the manifest. We call them and ask about delivery time. They tell us that the requested delivery location is not allowed (Robinson Mall, even though it is selectable when you setup your interview) and we have to have delivery to another location in Manila. Also it won't be delivered until Saturday. All hope is lost at this point. But then my fiancée asks if we can come down to the main office and collect her visa. They tell us that we can pick it up after 5pm. Ok, now we are onto something, but there is still the issue with the CFO stamp. The CFO office will be closed by the time we get the visa. I remember that Tahoma mentioned that there was a CFO office at NAIA so we called there and the gentleman said that he was not sure if we could get the stamp at NAIA until he looked at her documents. After collecting the visa and making sure that all the information on it was correct, we went to NAIA and attempted to find the CFO office. Everyone that we talked to pointed us in a different direction. Upstairs, downstairs, over here and there. After about an hour we finally got to the right person (CFO is inside the secure area so he had to come out to us). He looked at her docs and had her fill out the form. All of a sudden we realize that we don't have a passport photo for the CFO registration form. He tells us that it is not necessary. He takes her passport and goes away then returns with the sticker and stamp inside. Wonderful. Almost there now. We just need a ticket on the same flight was me. I ask the information desk where I can purchase a ticket for my airline and he send me over there. Nope not over there. So we ask someone else and they send us over here. Still not the right place. Another security person tells us to go to the 4th floor and it is there. So to the 4th flooor we go even though that seems a little odd to me. Well it is not there either. That is the airline flight operations. The man there is nice and tells us that you can not buy a ticket at the airport. I am shocked. You can not buy a plane ticket at the airport? How ridiculous!!! He give us the number to call for reservations. When we get back to the hotel. I call and the reservation desk is closed from 6:30pm till 9:00pm. I wait and call back at 9:15 and finally after all that has happened get a reservation on my flights with a seat next to me for my fiancée. Just need to print the confirmation at the hotel and it is done. She tells me to be sure that we are at the the airport 3 hours before the flight departure time. I am thinking, 3 hours. That is pretty early, but it is needed. Any less and we might have missed the flight.

We arrived POE Honolulu on 30 April 2011. It took about 45 minutes to clear immigration and customs. There were no problems at all. Very smooth. Arrived in Phoenix, Arizona at just after midnight on May 1, 2011.

Thanks to all that helped during this portion of our process. Now onto Marriage, AOS, AP, and EAD. The journey continues. Just hope it gets a little smoother from here.

    John and Lourdelie

Good Grief!!! I was tired just reading this. You guys are good at getting things done, that is for sure, nice work!!!
