So if they ask you how you met and when are they referring to in person or online when you first met because here is a little bit of my story

we actually met in 2013 in Facebook. My fiancé was mutual friends with others I knew , and you know Facebook gives you these suggestion friends you might know and he ended up adding me as friends, we were friends . But we didn’t meet  physically until December 2018 when he flew to South Africa We were still friends.

    official started dating may 2019

I would tell it like you did.  My husband and I met online in a chat room and that's what we told them on our application.  We met in 2009 and didn't physically meet until 2011.

So I flew 5 times to meet my Fiancé in South Africa.that’s a total of 5 trips. But the first trip we wasn’t dating we were just friends. The second trip we started dating, here is what happen

in June 2018 when we were friends he try to get a travel visa to meet me  but was decline. They said he couldn’t prove strong ties to his country .

so I took it upon myself to fly to South Africa December 2018 got a close bond and connection. Fast forward few months later may 2019 we starting dating.

my question is do I send pictures when we first met as friends. Do I just send a time line of pictures and dates showing when we met like a profession from all my trips or just start on my second trip. Because I am sure they going to see he try to get a travel visa,  because  my mindset is thinking might as well be ahead of it so they don’t question it .

I absolutely would send them in as well, it will help to establish your relationship- even if you were just friends at that time. :)

  3. Same, I'm putting my feet up and awaiting next May, when I can file N-400 and force them to locate my misplaced application.

We have our I-797s extending our status so why worry?

I guess I'm not THAT worried about it anymore..since they've cashed the check and we have the letter and really what can we do about it??? My concern was because June has already received and gone to the theirs for the most part and honestly I was more so hoping that it would come sooner rather then later so I didn't have to pull my daughter out of school for the trip to Dallas. LOL.

We did call at the beginning of July and was told they submitted a service request and about 10 days later I received the standard email about there being a backlog and that I was put in the system appointment scheduler... It is what it is.

  4. Like many others have stated....You may have to start looking outside of your field initially. When I moved here from Canada, I left behind a very nice job working regulation in the energy industry for the province. I waited for 15 months for my green card to be processed and when I was finally able to I flooded the area I live in with resumes. That was in August... I didn't hear anything until November 2013... I've been here ever since and I work part time as an administrative assistant at a bank. While this is not a "money making" job or near as challenging as my last position I like the people I work with, like the job and I have amazing hours that allow me to take my stepdaughter to and from school, as well as her jazz, ballet, tap and gymnastics activities.

You might surprise yourself by taking a job in a field you've not been in or that you feel isn't good enough.

Good luck in your search :)

  5. You should be fine :)

I don't remember doing fingerprints when I had my check done at the RCMP office in Calgary, all I remember was showing them my ID and filling out some paperwork I received the check a few days later with a notary stamp on it. They took my fingerprints at the interview :)

Good luck with your interview :)

  6. Our noa receipt was may 26th an i'm still waiting (well it's my wife's form, but i'm the one who stresses out about it). I called last week and spent 30+ minutes on the phone...the lady tried to open a service request but she was having computer/network problems and told me to call back the next day. Since then we just haven't had the time. Keep hoping the bio letter will show up.

Every step of the way i always stress out but everything ends up getting approved with no problems. I'm trying not to worry too much since most of the filers past may 20 are still waiting. But if it doesn't shiw up within the next 2 or 3 days i'm calling again.

    Ugh how frustrating eh?

Tonight I received an email regarding my call that stated the following:

'The status of this service request is:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding an appointment to have your biometric images processed at an Application Support Center (ASC). We are unfortunately experiencing a longer processing period than what is reflected on your Form I-751 Receipt Notice for this process. Please know that your name has been electronically added to the appointment scheduler. You will receive an ASC appointment notice by mail once an appointment date has been established for you.'

    We shall see...ugh.

  7. I'm still waiting on my biometrics its been almost a month and ahalf......this is very strange

Have you called? I had to call as mine has yet to arrive and the lady submitted a request and of course that can take anywhere from 15-30 days to hear back from. LOL.

It is really strange that cases filed in June are already receiving them while there are still many from May who've not. :( I am not patient when it comes to this LOL. Hang in there chica. :)

  8. I can't remember which dr. did my medical in Vancouver- but mine was at the downtown office. I arrived about an hour or so before the doors were to be open. There was no scheduled time for the medical, just a date and time of opening. A lot of people showed up shortly after I arrive, so I was glad to be there early. Once the doors opened it was a relatively quick process. There is some paperwork to fill out, so it really didn't matter how early you showed up as they took people in the order of the paperwork submission. First I had some bloodwork done, and then waited a little bit before heading in to the medical exam. I think all things said and done I was out by 10am. I did have to return later that afternoon to pick up the CD with xray images and the paperwork to give to the interviewers. All in all it was such an easy process. I did also schedule my interview for the next day, which I would recommend to anyone if they can. It definitely saved me another long trip from Calgary.

How much time are you planning on spending in Vancouver?

    Good luck!

For anyone in Canada thats going to Vancouver for your interview, (if your traveling) will you OR did you, have your medical done by Dr. Chema in Surrey? how did the timing work out? I will be traveling, so will this give me enough time to get results?
    Thanks

  9. So far we have:

-Joint Tax returns for 2012, 2013 and 2014

    - Proof of all our joint checking and savings accounts- activity included

    -Copy of our lease agreements

-copies of our joint cell phone account

-copy of our joint car loan documents

    - copy of joint insurance

-copies of hubby's life insurance through work with me as a beneficiary

    -Pictures

-copies of my stepdaughters school registration which shows me as her stepmom

-legal documentation showing me as her stepmom (hubby's custody agreement)

-copies of health insurance showing hubby and I on it

-copy of Stepdaughters medical paperwork showing I can make decisions for her (She lives with us)

Would you suggest that we even bother with the affidavits?

If you have strong evidence, I would suggest not sending affidavits at all.

But to answer your question, an affidavit (as opposed to a signed statement by your friend/relative) is a statement that is both signed by your friend/relative AND a notary. Many people send signed statements thinking they are affidavits, but they are not. However, they are such a weak form of evidence that the error seems to be inconsequential.

  10. Sometimes it can run a bit longer. It always feels longer when we want for something to happen so badly :)

Breathe :) Everything will be okay :)

...and we haven't heard anything yet. Yes, we filled out the form to receive email and text notifications. Yes, we registered on the USCIS site. Yes, we sent it to the Dallas lockbox address from Ohio.

Sigh. Already a snag? Has it taken this long for anyone else just to get the ball rolling?

  11. Congrats!

We too did ours without a lawyer and so far have had no issue. At the beginning of May we can apply for the removal of my conditions for my GC.. SOOOOO excited!

Many blessings to you and your love :)

  12. This seems like a silly question to ask....

I am getting ready to get things together for our I-751 application. On the form it has a section for children, we do not currently have any children of our own but my husband and I were joined as a family with his daughter when we were married, we also have custody of the child. Do I list my stepdaughter on here or is it just for children born to our marriage?

Also, should we include the latest court order that gives custody to us, showing her address as being the same as ours?

  13. Hiya! I'm from Calgary :)

We first filed our petition I-129F in October at the Dallas Texas Lockbox and it was transfered over to the Vermont center. Got approved for that on February 1st, 2012. I Received my letter for packet 3 on February 15th and gathered all my documents, had the fiance send over his affadavit of support and submitted the checklist (for the medical I checked the box that I would have it done in vancouver while there for my interview) on March 15, March 17th Vancouver sent me instructions on booking my interview I booked the interview the same day and I will be headed there for my medical April 18th and my interview on April 19th!

The wait... well it sucks LOL. BUT definitely worth it. I didn't find any issues visiting after we had filed but I made sure to have proof of my ties to Canada (ie. Letter from HR, utility bills etc). Keep your chin up :) It'll be over before you know it :)
