Did you check your status using https://www.uscis.gov/ and using to check the IOE number because i am getting concerned though my wife did her finger printing june 9th 2016

Yes I did, it says I'm scheduled for an interview.

I was worried too but I was told that USCIS is behind.. so patience my friend.

wooops wrong filing month haha sowee!

Hey guys, finally got a a schedule for interview. For some reason my name is not on the update. After 98 days from biometrics. Yass! Now I just gotta go through this interview.

It's pretty common for a handful to get stuck in a longer background check.

In most cases this is resolved in 2-5 months.

If you look at the December 2015 thread; 4 of us fell into this category and we were all placed inline between 3 and 4 months after biometrics. Everyone else was placed inline within a few days of biometrics (if they didn't apply early) or exactly 1 month prior to their green card anniversary (if they applied early).

It's got nothing to do with whether or not you've got criminal issues; on the contrary, those would show up immediately on a background check.

Things like how common your name is, how often you've traveled, and where you've traveled to are more likely causes of delays.

Applied under 5years+ rule. Actually got my RoC close to ten years ago. Had my biometrics on 5/9. Washington office. No changes in status as of yet.

I sure wonder what's taking so long. I'm working in an environment were I am already vetted by FBI background check. Been married for the entire time to the same guy, same job, same adress, not even a speeding ticket. Getting anxious too.

I did my biometrics the same day you did.

I've been married for 6 years, same guy, I've had FBI background checks in between to get a TWIC card, no speeding ticket or anything bad that I did that involves criminal activity. IDK, I'm just really getting anxious.

It seems like it's happening on the east coast, perhaps they just have a bit of a delay? idk.

Did you apply 90 days early?

If so, you're not going to be placed inline for an interview more than 1 month before your green card anniversary.

If not, then your background check has not been completed; this can take several months.

No, Ive been married for 6 years. I got my 10 yr greencard 2013 through my husband, so I'm not filing early days of some sort.

Perhaps the background check has not been completed, looks like I'm not the only one though. I'm just a bit anxious as I see other people timelines and normally get an inline after a week or 2 weeks of doing biometrics (Sometimes after a few days!)

I will just wait I guess.

I'm getting a bit anxious... It's been a month after my biometrics and still haven't heard anything from them. Anyone feeling the same? I filed mine at Lewisville, Texas and my USCIS office is in Jacksonville, FL.

Are you allowed to do that ? if your Biometrics are scheduled for 5/10/16 and you just walk in on 05/09/16 a day early ?

I've done it when I got my 10yr green card. Actually I'm scheduled for Biometrics on 5/18, but I just walked in early. The lady got on to me for walking in, but she still took my fingerprints.

Not sure if it helps with the time, but I will be out of town that day, so I figured I walked in.

Hi guys! I just wanted to say that I got an RFE yesterday ughhhh

USCIS wanted more evidence basically proving that we lived together for 3 years now. The problem is we lived with my in law till last month as we just recently bought a house. So we really dont have anything to give them but a letter from my mother in law.

We also do not have a car in our name as we are using my mother in laws car. My husband and I carpool and never bought a car as we were saving money to buy a house.. I did however sent these to USCIS as evidence

joint Tax documents

Health Insurance both in our names

joint bank accounts and statements

travel documents and pictures

Anyway, now that we got the house, I am thinking of asking my in law to make a letter stating that we lived with her for 3 years and also, send our deed/title and home insurance showing both our names... would that be sufficient enough? Thanks guys!

Hi Guys, I am a resident here in the states since 2011 and my husband is a USC. We just bought a new home and wanted my mum to come over and visit to help. She is planning to stay 2- 3 months and go back once we are settled.

I have been through getting a tourist visa process in 2009, I got mine in Hong Kong which was fairly easy because I had a Job, an apartment and a good amount of savings in my bank account meaning I had a lot of ties in that country. I applied, had the interview and got a 10yr conditional tourist visa- easy shweezy.

My problem is my Mum is in the Philippines (which is known as one of the toughest embassy to get visas from) and she doesn't have a job, or savings or anything in her name that would tie her over to the philippines. I support her and send her Money every month and that is how she gets her income for her Meds, food and bills. How can we apply given her situation? Would it help if I send the embassy a letter to assure them that My husband and I will be responsible for Tickets, Lodging, food etc. etc.?

What are the docs needed from us in order to get my Mum a visa? What would she need? Thanks a bunch for all your help guys!

Hey Guys, did my biometrics today, forgot my greencard so I had to go back twice! Geeez. All is good though, just want to make everyone aware, they would say OR driving license as proof of identity but really, they need your GC. I was also told that our GC should be with us on all TIMES as we may get fined (this is what I was told). So... yep. Cheers everyone.

As long as they cashed your check that means it was accepted. You should call and ask them about it.

just got it and got my biometrics appointment too for 1/9. phew! i guess it just got stuck somewhere in the mail due to the holidays.

Sorry just a little grumpy. Wife has been temping and they're not hiring her after her temp period is up. She can't seem to find steady work around here and the single income game isn't much fun.

I've been temping when i just got my greencard, it wasnt fun especially when my temp was done, I know this is a long shot but i am now working fulltime for a small conpany and ive been here for almost 2 years now and i found them on craigslist.. Just keep trying, I know she'll find a good one. Cheers.

Hi everyone, i sent my Report of Marriage in the Philippine Consulate office in Fort Lauderdale, FL already via USPS with Receipt and i found out that it was already closed? I send it last July 15, 2011 and my husband told me that it will returned back..but now i am worried coz it is almost 1 one month already.. If ever lost and never returned back, can I send a new set of Forms for the Report to the right address in Washington? I lived in Florida.. any comments or suggestions are hight hightly appreciated..thanks..

I think you may have to re-submit. did you have any receipt from the usps?
