Hi Everyone. It has been some time since we posted. We are now at the part where we have been called for interview to register for permanent residience. we have a few questions and hope you can assist us.

do we have to make new I-864 Affidavits of support or do we take our original one? Approximately one year has passed.

we extended our tax return until august because there was so much stuff we were unsure of. will this be a problem?

do we have to redo the medical exam?

what do we expect for the english or civics "test" and how can we prepare?

is this interview similar as interview for k 1 visa?

any additional advise or suggestions is GREATLY appreciated!

I stand corrected. the check adams wrote was for 1070.00. so this is not the reason for the hold up.

May I ask when you mailed the original documents. We mailed our i485 and i765 about a month ago and have not heard anything.

How long does it take to get the employment authorization and change of status? We sent our forms I485 and I765 to USCUS 30days ago. We called and they state they have nothing although I have a tracking number from the USPS saying the package was delivered. Also, the check for 1200.00 has not been cashed. Has anyone else experienced this. Feels like the good old days of K1visa waiting....

I would suggest finding out why you where denied. We were approved and we have a 14 year age difference, he is Muslim and I am not, nor do I plan to convert., so I do not think that those are reasons for denial. We did have one years worth of skype conversations they took and reviewed. We talked every day usually twice a day and in our dialogue it was obvious we had a committed authentic relationship. We did not alter or just give them part of our conversations so they were able to see our disagreements, our conversations about religion, and everything else couples talk about.....: ) Having proof of an authentic relationship is the key I think. Will Adams need to have his Birth Certificate, Criminal Record and all other official documents re-translated? Apparently some of the documents, like the criminal record, expire in 3 months from original date. We want him to take care of any requirements like this before he leaves for USA on Tuesday.

Also, is there any other documents you can think of that are required to obtain marriage certificate, work permit, drivers license, etc in the USA that was not part of our K1 package?

After a many months of waiting, much work, a lot of patience and, trust that all things happening for the greater good....Adams got his VISA today!! He will arrive in USA next Tuesday. Here's to new beginnings......

Would you mind describing the interview process? I actually just looked up Casa here on the consulate reviews: sounds like there have been FOUR K1 approvals from Casa in the last few weeks! Amazing.

Good luck with the transition and congrats again!!

I will post a review of the interview process soon. I have heard that Casablanca is one of the harder places to get K1 approval, so I am very grateful.....

After one week from interview we received the call today, We are APPROVED! That was the longest week of our lives!

We want to thank everyone here on VJ for your encouragement, prayers and support and we moved through this incredible process. For those still waiting, Stay the course, be strong, and know that Love does prevail.....eventually.

What does MENA stand for?

My fiance had his interview this morning. He said that he was not able to finish the questions completely without being told "stop stop stop". He tried to explain our story but was interrupted before he could finish.. After about 35 mins of being with the interviewer he was asked for the three folders he took which included all our conversations by skype and face book and all of our photos. The interviewer then told him, We will call you in a few day." That's it........ Has anyone else had this experience? What does this mean?

I speak internet Moroccan and I don't think this is a letter. I think its some kind of chain of thought or prose to his internet love and he is saying I am trying to move closer to her but her heart is so broken and she is holding his picture

And the end says to be continued.

The man who made her cry like this is probably Moroccan too and next time I suggest you do not use reverso to write a letter.

PS.. this kind of stuff works with Americans so lay it on thicker honey... She will definitely go for it

I am saddened by the judgment and critical feedback people offer this person. This person is obviously reaching out, and this is the best we can give him? I am ashamed at my fellow man that we would treat a brother so critical and with such "box brain" feed back. We are all human begins who need support and encouragement at times, not to be ridiculed or told we fall short in language, relationship, etc.

To my fellow man who post this....please know not all are judging and condemning. Please know that these hard times will bring you great opportunity for growth and awareness, if you choose the lesson offered...

Yes, you are correct. It took from 3/23 New York notification to the 3/28 before I saw tracking to confirm my package had arrived in Morocco and then another few days before it was in customs. It ended up that my fiance went to the post office to pick up the package because we knew it was there by the tracking ID. Give your fiance the tracking number and he will be able to pick it up.

Will the consular keep any of the information my fiance takes to the interview, or do they give it back to him?

can someone tell me what this below question means. We found this on the Consulate site of listed instructions:

an instruction sheet that asks for the signature of the applicant (although they don't take it when you/your fiance(e) go to the interview)?

Can someone tell me about how long it takes to get NVC notice after receiving NOA2?

How do I know that NVC has received?

How do I know that NVC has forwared to Casablanca Consulate?

Who will recieve the insturction package, the petitioner or beneficary?

How does the instriction package come? Email or snail mail (postal service)

I have a question. Today, I received the I-797, Notice of Action which states our petition approval has been sent to the consulate in Casablanca. Can someone tell me when we will received an instruction packet with forms and requirements for the interview? And from whom this packet comes from and how long it takes to receive it?
