  1. If she went through CFO in 2009 will she have to go again?

Just taking a guess i would think as long as she can prove she went through class with either a certificate or a stamp in her passport that she would be good to go. She might check with the Airport or CFO websight , or just call http://www.cfo.gov.ph/

  2. Quick update for now, wife arrived at airport 200am and is being told the CFO station to get her stamp will be open at 500am -12. Her plane leaves out at 630am will update if she gets stamp there.wacko.gif

  3. Your planning to have your wife stay in the airport all night?.....I think you better have her get the CFO sticker (ASAP) the day she arrives.

That will be up to my wife, she found out that according to the guard no problem her getting her stamp since she already has her certificate. They wont let her in until midnight because her ticket is for 630am in the morning, she was told that CFO open 24x7. she is now eating at Jollibees with her aunt and has decided she will stay at her house not to far from the airport to save the drive to Quezon. I Told her that was up to her as long as she is sure that the stamp will be availble. Her plan is have aunt drop her off at airport as soon as she can get into the departure area

  4. Wife will be flying out of Manila to United States on 05/12/11, but arrive in Manila 05/11/11 she will attempt to get her CFO stamp at Airport and if successful just stay there until her 630am flight the next day. If she cant she will travel to get stamp in Quezon and visit with her aunt and have her drop her back at the airport.

  5. My wife got her results kind of, a slip of paper saying she passed and a CD on a Friday the 2nd day of her exam. She asked to hand carry everything for her interview the following week on a Tuesday, but ST Lukes told her not necessary and they would forward it the day after her interview wedheadbonk.gif. They ask her for her medical at the interview, she explained what St Lukes told her and i guess it was not a problem cause she passed her interview, still waiting to get her visa by courierwacko.gif.

  6. Thanks to all that helped, other then a taxi taking wife to wrong St Lukes hospitalmad.gif, she passed her medical april 8th friday, then passed her embassy interview april 12th on a tuesday with no problems. They would not let her hand carry her medical just gave her a cd and a paper saying she passed and would forward the day after her interview.headbonk.gif She completed her CFO after interview at St Marys with a certificate and is just waiting on her Visa to arrive so she can get her stamp and come home to mestar_smile.gif She said information given helped out a lot thanks again!!good.gif

  7. My wife recently passed her embassy interview to get her CR1 spousal visa on april 12th 2011, yes there is a interview for that as well as interview for questions at St. Lukes. Her timeline for the whole process was 200 days, i think normal it averages 8-81/2 months. These web sights might help your friend, with what my wife went through and what she used to help her with the process. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/300420-daily-food-cost-and-tranportation-in-manila/ , http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/305202-wifes-manila-embassy-experience/ ,http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221658-st-lukes-medical-exam-walkthrough/ , http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/236974-no-cfo-yet/, hope it helps if links do not work just type in topic in your search bar at top of page, good luckstar_smile.gif

  8. Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines

Review Topic:EventDescriptionReview Date :April 14, 2011Embassy Review :Wife Jezyl appt time was April 12 6:30am, she arrived at 5:20am and fell in line. Every line had a different category, with different times. Security guard ask her what category and time of her interview. She was told to go to immigrant visa line which she said was long line, she went to the end. Guard reminded people no electronics, no food or water, no coins cause u have to go through metal detector, her aunt held her purse for her.I think they told everyone outside to prepare there appt letter and looked at passport and I think maby id to get inside. Her papers were checked in the line a few more times bye girls working for the embassy. She was given a number to remember 6095 that was important to process her papers inside. She said her leg and back so hurt cause she wear high hill shoes.Jezyl aunt waited with her purse at the sea wall, she also said no candy allowed only paper and ballpoint pen.Jezyl was not really tired cause sun had not risen yet and she was inside by 640am.Jezyl said one older i guess administrator was getting mad with security cause some people brought in food and told security if the line was still slow and applicants didn't understand about food to kick them out. Jezyl said 2 waiting areas with a canteen for food in water inside. After going through the detector there are 3 windows she went to the immigrant visa window. They ask her name, passport and medical. She showed a paper from St Lukes showing her medical was approved and told then hospital said would forward to them the next day. They looked at her appt letter and told her to take it inside to window 39, there are 75 total windows inside. she passed through detector again with more guards checking reaching window 39 approx 7:15am dropping off appt letter and told take seat and wait for number on screen, but lady called her name to window 41 and asked her for passport and 2 2x2 pics and told her to wait for her number to be called.Approx 8am her number appeared window 46 start her interview with a Philippine lady. She asked more then 10 questions, her name,my name, my age, were i live, were i work, were we meet, when we meet, how long i stayed, when is are wedding, did i ask her to marry me before coming there, first time we talked, did she stay with me when there, any kids, her 2mth miscarriage, was it her first time apply visa,if she ever been abroad, about her nursing schooling i paid for,and why i wait so long to get her there. She explained she was in school and became pregnant right after i left, and i decided after her miscarriage since it would take to long for her to finish school if she promised to finish over here, or later over there we work on her coming here first. She was asked how long since i been there, and for 3 pictures of us together.Wife said she was not nervous cause lady was Philippine and talked to her in Tagalog no slang lol.Around 830 was told take seat wait on #.Number appeared again window 40 wife could not tell if lady was a foreigner or not cause the way she talked, but looked foreign. She asked my wife name, age, then fingerprinted her using a machine. She sat down again then number appeared for her to go to final interview window 40 with a American man. Wife was real nervous but remembered what her aunt told her about having a tiger look during this process, she said her knees were shaking cause she was expecting a question about her papers which never was asked. He asked her name, age, who her petitioner was, what my work is, why and how we meet and our connection,do we have kids, did i ask to marry her before coming there, did we stay together, did we go other places when i stayed there, how many days and when i stay there, that is it. Then the CO kidded her about chocolate on a form and if it was her footprint, i remember trying to scrape that off before i sent it lol.She then knew that he was a good man, but i think still scared to smile. She went mack to seat but was called again about her medical not being there which she tried to hand carry since she completed on a Friday but ST Lukes told her it was no problem. That was around 1140am she was at window 71 told fill out some papers and go to window 76 which was the 2 go courier. she completed everything about 1200 noon, then went to St Marys to completer her CFO training and got her certificate, she still needs her Visa to get her stamp. Hope this might help some people the way i was helped with some things good luck. My wife nickname for me is Kitkatt named after a candy bar.laughing.gifkicking.gifkicking.giflaughing.gif

  9. Sorry no one answered your last question!wacko.gif My wifes interview is on the 12th april, i mailed her back a big packet of forms including her ds-230, but think i forgot or dont have a copy of the I-864 Which like you i sent to National Visa Center!headbonk.gif Hopefuly since it was approved i am assuming at that stage, the tax transcripts i sent along with social security record will work!whistling.gif Good luck on interview and keep us informedstar_smile.gif

  10. I agree nice current information from 2 of the above posters, that matches up with the CFO web sights i have read good.gif

Never a reason to talk bad aboout another persons postings as we are all here to learn, unless proven that a person is purposely giving out false information headbonk.gif

WOW! Your experience has nothing to do with immigrating to the US!

The info you posted is exactly opposite of the experiences of everyone else here, including my wife.

CFO was completed in a few hours before her interview. After she received her Passport with visa affixed she simply returned with her completion certificate & passport, they affixed her CFO sticker and she was done.

They certainly did confirm our status as husband & wife.

Finally, while it is true that Philippine Immigration can't cancel your flight with the airline they certainly will prevent you from passing through the checkpoints if you don't have the CFO sticker which effectively cancels your flight for you as you'll never board the plane.

PS: Insulting other posters with personal attacks (like calling them Dimwit) is a violation of the TOS...

Correction 3 of the above postersstar_smile.gif

  11. Thanks for the current information sweetheart428, will be sure to have wife read it before and during time she is there with all of the other good advice.good.gif

James i had hearde that from a guy that brought his wife over 3 yrs ago that either told it wrong or i heard it wrong you know how that goesblush.gif, but since have had it verfied that u are right it is ok at St. Lukes. So people dont leave phone on that oneheadbonk.gif

  12. Just have to say i am like my relatives little kids when it comes to eating at Jollibee, love it along with eating outdoor barbecue chicken on the boardwalkkicking.gif

With that said any tips f my wife were in Dipolog no taxis, for catching taxis and to make sure not getting riped off. already told her to make sure they use the meter. Wondering if anyone has approximation in peso or otherwise geting around manilaOff-Topic2.gif

  13. If my wife goes in on a tuesday afternoon and returns wed for her medical and there is a problem were she needs to do a sputum test, will she have enough time to complete that the same week with a embassy apt tuesday the following weekunsure.gif

  14. Some real good ideas from Markieboy and Tahomagood.gif Unfortunetly her embassy date is on a tuesday and i am scared to change it, so she will come in a week ahead, also to make sure no problems like a friend on the forum had with septum test.

Already thought about her flying in early and doing first part of medical to avoid the crowds maby noonish. Then maby taking your idea and doing the CFO in the morning next day and finishing up with the medical, which will leave the rest of the week for her to relax at her auntsgood.gifor eat some of that good Robinson mall cookingwhistling.gif

Hopefully she will be well relaxed for her interview and can play it by ear weather to wait for visa to come in there or pick up in Dipolog.star_smile.gif

  15. I am on a shoestring budget, was just lucky enough not to need a sponsor for her.whistling.gif

They say walking is good for the soul and good exercise as long as she is safe, cool.gif

she can treat 1or 2 of her ants toinnocent.gifJollibeeinnocent.gif preferably after she completes each test.

Half the time when we eat she is always giving me her seconds as i am eating my thirds.laughing.gif
