  1. Yeah, just call the Consulate Call Center and ask about the date they received you case and if they've sent your packet 3 out already. If you're in the States, you can call 703 439 2313. If you're in Mexico go here: http://mexico.usvisa-info.com/en-MX/selfservice/us_service_options . It has local numbers in Mexico for the same call center.

I was looking at your timeline and wondering if you have received Packet 3 yet... either in Mexico or the U.S.? If not and you don't receive by the time you have your interview, what is your plan?

Just curious because we just started our wait for packet 3 but want to go ahead and schedule the interview for the first week of July so we can buy plane tickets cheaper, but we're worried we won't receive the letter in time.

  2. Sorry to take so long to reply.

Alejandra y Mario- This is how we tracked our package (based on what others have said in this forum). You find out from NVC when they sent your package to the consulate. Then, you go here to the DHL site: http://www.dhl.com/en/express/tracking/shippers_reference.html . There you will ship by a reference number based on the day your package left. NVC said our package left May 13, so this was the reference we used in our search: EXP 13 MAY 2011A. The only thing you change is the day and month to the day your package left. It is case sensitive as well. Then you choose a range of dates and the country your package was sent to, and it should bring up a list. I have read others say if it left from NH that it was the package, but in my searches, I have only seen Boston. Anyways, I *think* that is how you track it.

C_Maria, we were actually thinking of waiting to have our interview until about the 3rd week of July so that we can buy plane tickets a little cheaper (which we wanted to go ahead and buy now). You think we will be safe buying them now and hoping package 3 comes before then?

    Thanks for your help everyone!

  3. Hi, I have a couple a question regarding the new procedures in Juarez that I am hoping I can get some help with. I am applying for the k-1 visa. I am a little confused with this new process. I just finished filling out the DS-260 and have the printed confirmation. Now, I am wondering what to do next to schedule the interview. Do you schedule it on the same site you sign up for the appointment for prints? Or is it better to call and schedule the appointment? From DHL tracking, it looks like Juarez has received the package or will receive it tomorrow. I will confirm with the consulate first that they have indeed received it, but if I know that, is it safe for me to schedule the interview before receiving package 3? Thanks for all of your help!

  4. Does your fiance have any savings or assets? If not, you'll have to get a co-sponsor. As close to the cut-off as you are, it won't be enough for them unless she has enough savings or assets to make up the difference.

    Best of luck! :)

No, she does not have any. She has more income than 18k but I don't what she can prove as income

  5. Hello guys, first thank you for reading. Me and my girfriend are in love and want to apply for the fiancee k-1 visa, but we are worried if her income will be enough for it. The past 3 years she has been making 30k a year, but just the last december she lost her job. This year though she has been working since July based on 18,100 salary.

I have read that she has to show evidence to support 125% of the minimum for her household size (which would be 2 if it is just me and she). That is $18,212, so close with her current salary. Also she works on weekends taking care disabled people but I don't know if this salary can be added too.

Do you guys think is too risky for us to try the visa with her current income?

Do you think will be more risky because she didnt work for some months?

Thank you very much, I really appreciate your advises.
