  1. Why was this asked in the general area? Is the Africa board not functioning today?

If you don't know the answer to the question than don't bother yourself to answer at all!

Hi everyone, pls I want to ask where and when can I pay for the visa application fees? Is it paid prior to the interview or on the interview date before the interview? Again. Is the fees pay at the consulate? Or at the bank? Would appreciate your responses.

You will pay the visa fee at the time of the interview.

  2. It depends on the University he attended in Nigeria, If i may ask, which University in Nigeria did he graduated from? If he had graduated from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), I will advice him on what he needs to do to get his transcripts sent to him within two weeks according to their websites in obtaining Transcript. I dont know the mode of operation of other Universities in Nigeria in requesting for Universities transcripts. He can ask any of his or her relation to assist him handle that situation since he is presently here in the US. For more information,School Transcripts are sent directly from the School to the Non profit Organisation specializing in Foreign Credential Evaluation in the US e.g WES - World Education Service and many others. Schools in the US do not evaluate foreign transcripts credential. So it depends on the choice of Universities and colleges he wants go in the US. They will be in better position to advice him on what he needs to do to get his credential evaluated and send to them via Non profit Organization of their choice. I am advicing him to ask his school in Nigeria to send a student copy to him directly to his address in the US and another official school transcripts to the Non profit Organization the school in the US will direct him for verification and evaluation of his transcript.

If you wish to know other things do not hesitate to contact me. Remain Blessed.

He attended the Univerisity of Benin. Apparently they want a 'tip' as the OP mentioned. A family member who is now attending that school has been tirelessly helping him with it but to no avail. They keep coming up with excuses and telling us they may mail it off sometime this (or that) week and then come up with another excuse for not sending it. We keep going in circles it seems. He had the same issue with his passport till finally he waited awhile (like a month) before making inquiry about it and that seemed to work. Maybe if we don't look so desperate, give it a break so-to-speak, it may work again. We are using an agency that will evaluate his transcripts so no problems their just that we're still waiting on the University. Thanks for the info.

Apparently, you are unaware of the "tipping" that occurs daily in Nigeria. I don't believe the fact that they want a transcript fee is what is bothering her. It is the fact that in Lagos, you pay the required fee, and then they will expect you to pay them a personal tip in addition. If you are from/residing in the U.S., they expect that tip to be quite large, based on the assumption that all Americans are rich...

  3. My husband is having the most difficult time getting his transcripts from Nigeria. He had no problems with receiving his transcripts from the college, only at the university. We are almost certain they want money because he is in the US now. Does anyone have any suggestions or answers? It's becoming so irritating, this has been going on for at least 4 months. What can we do? Thanks.

  4. I sent my I485 in on January 19th.

I have heard nothing from USCIS and I have not even received a biometrics appointment yet, and its been two months. My case is still in the acceptance stage.

I called two weeks ago and opened a ticket to find put was going on with my case, they replied with a letter saying they have the application and tht everything is normal, however almost everyone gets there biometrics done within atleast a month.

Any insight on this from anyone would be great, as i am behinning to get more and more worried.

    Thanks.

Your fine....we got our bio appt in 2 months. Hopefully you'll get yours soon.

  5. I'd love to fill out my actual timeline, but I'm confused on how to do so. Our situation isnt really an option when filing out the timeline.

Thanks to all for the well wishes. Like I said, we haven't been approved yet but am so happy that we're at least moving along!

When you are ready to fill out your timeline there are 2 ways I know how to do it.

    1. Go to your profile and click on your timeline, then add/edit timeline.

    2. Go to 'Immigration Timelines' at the top of the page and click on add/edit timeline.

  6. What is my NOA1 data? On the USCIS site it says "On November 25, 2011, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case", but we got an email on the 30th with "Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the California Service Center for processing. "

Seems to me 25th is your received date or NOA1 and 30th is a notice that your petition has been transferred to CSC.
