You should be able to as you are the Petitioner (your name needs to be on there!). However it does vary with each embassy, we just had our interview in Cairo and I was able to go in with her.

Wow it's been awhile since I've posted!
Well since the last post, The Egypt Embassy re-opened right as I was trying to get it transferred to I aborted that and got our interview scheduled for June 12! I flew to Cairo for the interview and it was approved that day, this is where things got a bit messy. The consulate official stated he was going to expedite our request so my fiancee would have her visa within the week, after a few days I emailed the embassy asking if they had sent it out yet and they said it would be sent out soon. At the one week mark I emailed again and they said it was on the desk of an official, this is where I got impatient seeing as of how our engagement anniversary was that week along with my birthday and wanted her to be there with me.
I ended up contacting a Senator and she got her visa on Sunday! She'll be flying in Saturday

We finally got our visa so we're preparing for the next step and one that I'm surprised isn't documented anywhere on here, going through customs!
I had to hunt around but I finally managed to track down the current I-94/W and 6059B forms that are required to be filled out when entering the states.
Can these be adding to the example forms or at least hosted somewhere?

Just want to give everyone an update. We sent our paperwork to the Embassy last week and I emailed them yesterday for a status update. We have an interview date for June 12!
-
Congrats! When did your paperwork arrive at the Embassy? I'm trying to gauge when we might get our interview.

This was posted a few days ago: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_5347.html
Take note of this line:
The U.S Embassy in Cairo remains on ordered departure status for dependents, but most employees have returned, and the Embassy is resuming normal operations.

Doesn't Sudan have a US Embassy where people can get their interview done?
Sudan does have a US Embassy but they don't process Immigrant Visas, those are referred up to Cairo. The supervisor at the NVC that I spoke to said that if the embassy does not process Immigrant visas to begin with they will not accept a transfer.

Copying this from my post in the consulate forum since a few of us are stuck:
I started working on getting our K1 petition transferred from Cairo to Abu Dhabi last week so I sent an email to Cairo checking to see if they had received our packet yet and another to Abu Dhabi asking if they will accept a transfer request.
I got an email from both embassies today confirming both but the email from Cairo threw me off:
Kindly note that the packet of instructions was sent to you on 14 March 2011. In case you did not receive it within one week, kindly send us the address and telephone numbers in Sudan to be able to re-send you the packet of instructions.

I had assumed since they were closed they would not be processing any applications which included sending out information packets. In the March 1 posting they said they would do limited process of spousal/child visas, I assumed this did not include the K1 visa. Does this mean they will be processing our visa petition and we'll get an interview?
My fiancee and I decided to wait a week to see what the visa packet says before we proceed with transferring our case to Abu Dhabi.

I haven't called the Cairo embassy yet, instead I sent them an email to check if our paperwork had arrived so I could avoid problems later on when I started the transfer request. I also sent an email to Abu Dhabi stating I wanted to transfer our case from Cairo and if they were accepting transfer.
The embassy in Cairo received our packet and they mailed us a packet of instructions, I'm not sure if this means they're going to process our case or what but we're going to wait until we get that packet before we proceed with the transfer request.
Abu Dhabi also responded to our email today stating "The immigrant visa section at the U.S. Embassy will be accepting a limited number of transfer immigrant visa cases that were scheduled for interview at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. Please be advised that a transfer request may take a few weeks/months to be completed and may take additional weeks/months to be scheduled for interview."

Right now the only option available is to transfer to another Embassy. I'm working on getting ours transferred to Abu Dhabi but check other embassies and see if they're willing to accept a transfer.
-
Cairo embassy is still closed so I'm going to see if I can get our petition transferred to Abu Dhabi. Currently trying to call that Embassy but nobody is picking up. I want to sleep
-
I originally planned on stopping it at NVC then routing it to Abu Dhabi, but I found out the hard way that their automated system for reporting your case status is broken! If it looks like the embassy will open after April I'm going to transfer our case.
Does anyone know what number to contact the Cairo embassy at right now? I'm going to call them to clarify on the recent announcement they made.
-
I think if your case is still at the NVC they will schedule the interview with the other country and you would just have to go there for the interview date. Im not sure but that is what I understood from what I read.
That is not the case, if you put down Cairo or another Embassy that forwards immigrant visas to Cairo it will still be sent there. My fiances lives in Sudan and I marked down Khartoum Embassy and our petition is being sent to Cairo right now.
I spoke to a supervisor at NVC last week and was told that all cases marked for Cairo are still being sent there. If you want to transfer your case to another embassy you will need to contact that Embassy first.
For example if you want to transfer your case to the embassy in Abu Dhabi, you will need to call that embassy and have them agree to process your case there. You will then give them your NVC case number and they will contact the Cairo embassy so they can have the paperwork sent to them.
-
Keep in mind anything you read on blogs/news sites is based off this announcement. They do not know more then you do.
-
You won't need to start over, it will just result in a long delay in processing your visa.
-
How long did it take for the NVC to receive the packet for you all? I got my NOA2 2/15 and NVC still hasn't received it.
-
It's difficult to say, currently the consulate is closed so all you can do is check their website until they post an announcement that they are open again. If when you get your NOA2 the consulate is still closed, you have the option of having your packet sent to another embassy for the interview.
We just got out NOA2 and my fiancee lives in Sudan but the consulate there does not process immigrant visas so normally we would go through Cairo. I'm going to see if we can go through UAE instead.
-
You're going to want to call the NVC as they can give you both. Once they confirm your packet has arrived at the consulate you'll call them to setup the interview.
-
If it was the first person he spoke to who told him that it was a Tier 1 service rep. If that is the case she was giving him the current estimate for your petition. If you hit the 4 days and nothing happens he can call back the next day and file a service request
-
This improved my mood tremendously today, I'm trying to call my fiancee to tell her the good news but alas she's still sleeping
Now comes the messy part, we would go through Cairo but they're closed so I'm going to chat with NVC and see if we can switch to UAE.
-
Would have been awesome to get my NOA2 yesterday but alas it arrived today, but who am I to complain? Congrats!
-
Yes! I got my NOA2 approval!

OH I'm aware of that, this is more for convenience so you're aware of what needs to be filled out upon arrival.
I-94 is not electronic, only I-94W for people traveling under the Visa Waiver Program.
