We filed for expedite on account of my wife's daughter having cystic fibrosis, she's 8 years old. Medical bills coming in, my wife is a student, works part time and her daughter being special needs having big medical bills and monthly doctor checkups..she needs me. I used to live with them before my other visa expired, so I helped support the household and take care of my step daughter. We requested an expedite last week and my wife faxed in her daughter's medical record on Thursday of last week. USCIS didn't want any bills, just the medical record..and then we got touches on the 28, 29 and 30 of september...so now it's been quiet the last few days...my gut tells me they're processing all the background checks and things like that and I'll get approved this week or early next week...but that's wishful thinking. Either that or they're handwriting the denial of expedite letter , lol.
So any ideas on how long we should possibly wait to give USCIS a call to see if they're going to expedite our petition? Another week if we don't hear anything is my thought.

From what I know and hear..they're supposedly giving priority to people that are married to US citizen's versus people who are Landed Immigrants...so it makes a big difference..otherwise you'll end up falling through the cracks.

Loto..no RFE and you're getting 'tickled'..I'd say good things coming my friend.

Congrats to all..I am sure the last two of you at VSC will hit it big within the next week or so...sure seems like it. Has anyone from our group from CSC been approved for NOA2? I got a funny feeling the CSC people will be waiting quite a bit longer.
Anyways, update with me, wife faxed in her daughter's medical record on Tuesday evening. We've received touches on 9/28, 9/29 and 9/30 respectively. Now just waiting to hear if we're going to qualify for expedited processing and if approved how long 'expedited' really takes.
Ok, going Deer hunting this afternoon...look forward to some new NOA2's when I get back tonight!

Ok, cool..I'm down in Ohio right now visiting..we used to live together and I contributed to the household before I left...after I left..she then realized she couldn't be without me..typical woman, lol. Anyways...I hope it works out, she's faxing in the paperwork today..I was just surprised at how quickly they got back to us, on the phone they said up to 5 days until we hear from someone about our expedite request.

I read somewhere only ONE US citizen is allowed..just wish I could remember where...

My Wife called yesterday to request an expedite, they sent her an email in about 3 hours asking her to fax the supporting documentation for her claim. Plus I got a touch yesterday...yawn..lol. So, what do you think? it's based on her daughter being chronically ill (cystic fibrosis) and she needs me to help her with the bills and helping take care of her daughter. Plus an open question...my wife asked me this and I didn't have a clue..when they expedite..it's only the USCIS correct? not NVC or the Consular interview?

Hmm I was expecting to hear about approvals so far this week..the bulk usually get posted on wednesday night right? seems pretty vacant..either that or i'm not looking in the right places.
-
Loto..I dont see the 4 People that got approved on your spreadsheet.

Capu went through CSC...must've gotten a lucky break. Congrats!!!

I agree...there's just somethings you can't prove..you can show. I intend to print out our emails where we sent pics to eachother, wedding album photos. Our cell phone records are useless and text messages..my wife has an account on my line..it's not in her name..so what's the point? We do have old myspace correspondences and I do have records of buying the wedding ring..which by the way I paid on it over time when I was legally in the USA. Everytime I cross the border they got it in their system..although I never noticed a passport stamp, probably because I'm going from Canada to the USA? And I do have some mail sent to my wife's house for my US bills which I still pay on and her address is also noted on my Child Custody papers I have for the place of visitation when I get my son.
That's what I plan on submitting..if I've missed anything or if you think I've disregarded something please let me know. Hope my list of evidence spawns some ideas for others.

IF you have any assets they may be included as well or taken into consideration..

Anyone get their approvals this week? I know last week it seemed to speed up a bit...hoping to see if the trend continues..get a slew of them this week.

I intend to...our attorney sent a letter requesting expedited processing...don't know if they even read it. So my wife is going to try going through the congressman...the congressman's office sent the forms she has to fill out and she has to mail them back. When she called the office and told them our 'whole' situation..they seemed sympathetic and motivated to help us. So we'll just see.
thanks LOTO

You guys specifically talking about the Vermont Service Center? or in general?
-
Well, we were going to file for severe financial loss...for myself, my business and for my wife. If we dont try, the worst they can say is NO...and we wait. I'll just have to file bankruptcy once I get back in the US for good.
-
Gonna call her here in 5 minutes...she was at work today. She'll probably do that first..and then see what the result is.
-
pick which grounds...I listed a bunch in a previous post..when I went ranting and raving.

I guess it depends on whether it's a benign tumor or malignant...once they do the biopsy..if it's benign..non spreading then I dunno..they might not view it as such a big deal..if it's malignant, then I think your chances would increase greatly.
-
If you think you read it..then you're not sure. They faxed her a form for congressional expedition for this, from what she tells me..and from what i've seen from other VJ members..they've used the congressional route as well. LOTO tried it..at least he tried it, and him and I have the same NOA1 date I believe.
-
No, she didn't bother with USCIS..we got a lawyer for that..figure the more people that are 'external' who get involved, the better. Plus she's a bit naive to the whole process..she thought once we got married that I was allowed to stay and get my greencard in 6 weeks..the attorney had to set her straight..stuff that I already knew..she thought I was BSing her.

My intent of this thread was IF you feel you have grounds to expedite..I'm not making up stuff. What am I going to do? write my own doctor's note? get my old patients to send in affidavits that they require my care? That before I had to leave, I was living with my wife who's a student, and now we're both suffering severe financial loss, because she can't keep up with the bills? That she has a daughter with Cystic Fibrosis that I helped out with caring for? That I have a 3.5 year old son from a previous relationship, US citizen, who needs his daddy, plus I'm borrowing money to pay my child support of $500/month regardless? I lived and worked in Ohio on an E2 for 5 years..didn't get renewed because of the economy, so I had to close up my business..wife didn't want to get married at the time because we thought I was going to get my renewal..which lapsed. I think I might qualify for one of the criteria on an expedite. Sorry..just venting..no one in particular..just the system.
Do touches mean anything?

nope, touches dont really indicate much unless you try to request expedited processing or there's an error. I've seen some people on their timelines not get a touch and get approved...if you're over the 5 month mark..then call them...it appears you are.
