  1. Ok..for those of you wondering about my situation. I first and foremost want to say Congratulations to ALL that have been approved. yes the elevator does open to the back and you're not allowed to turn the heck around.

I interviewed on Feb 16,..then I was informed of a paperwork screw up..had to resend a document..been waiting and waiting..as I was expecting my Passport/Visa to be in hand in a week.

So I've been going nuts and finally tonight I'm happy to say that I checked the USAVisaInfo website and there was a waybill #. Shipped out as of this evening at 6:30 pm.

I'm about to puke I'm soo happy and excited. Today marks exactly ONE year that I left my family in the USA..would it have been cool if I could've crossed today..YES..but this is a close second. I haven't seen my wife, step kids and my 3.5 year old son in two months.

Thank you to everyone on this forum and the regular IR1/CR1 forum for putting up with my verbal tirades and crappy moods over the last 7 months.

God Bless You all..enjoy your families as I will mine. My daughter is getting out of the hospital tomorrow as well..so hopefully I'll see her in the next few days and I can harass her about being in Love with Justin Bieber. Tell her that her mom fell for a Canuck and she's just like her mom.

    Anyways..there ya go.

For u having future interviews...my wife and I after the approval looked at eachother..it was very anti-climactic. I suppose them saying you're approved and then having to wait...not having that VISA in hand kind of was a buzz kill.

I'm finally excited. ok, I'm done. goodnight.

  2. if it goes over a week..try to call montreal directly. if you can. I know someone who's WayBill was posted about 4 days after. Now mind u..u have to count business days..weekends dont count. So if you had your interview Thursday..today is Monday..technically you're on the 3rd day.

  3. DOS said that it was approved. No information on it being printed yet or being mailed out. I suppose we'll have to check back on thursday or friday if the DHL or USA Visa info site doesn't update in the next few days. That's all I know...more sitting and waiting.

    Keep ya updated folks.

  4. Ugh..well Wife is calling DOS right now as we speak, waiting to hear back from her. Technically it's been 3 business days because of the holiday yesterday. I've heard in some cases the visa's sit for a week before anyone tells us immigrants they're there ready to be picked up. lol

  5. Yup..I'm approved. Just nervous they might pull a fast one do an AP on me or there be a computer glitch..like what happened to one of our VJ'er's. He was in AP for a few weeks when he wasn't supposed to be, due to a computer glitch in their system.

Until I have paper in hand..across on I-75 south outta Detroit, I'm not gonna celebrate. lol

  6. Ya, I did. It's not necessary for the process.. but I'll tell you what? All us immigrants..we should bring our spouses to the interviews just so that our loving USC spouse can see exactly what we go through. They'll appreciate us and the process more. My wife's eyes opened wide once she got a taste of the 'system'. So when I used to get upset and bent and frustrated..she can understand it better now.

    just my two cents.

  7. I think that's a bullshit interview. I had mine last week..no DS260..nothing. I didn't even sign my Ds230...that's why they take the digital thumb print. They didn't even ask for the TWO passport pictures that I brought with me. I could see my picture digitized up on the computer screen. My interview consisted of asking me about my son/previous relationship..two questions. My two denied entries into the US and she asked me a few questions off the DS260. 10 min total..mostly me yacking because I was nervous.

Maybe my interview was a little short lived or less intrusive because I had a previous visa and had left the USA and moved back to Canada in March 2010. I'm not saying preferential treatment..but I was already there before and on their radar. Hope that helps.

  8. Ok, here's my situation, we had our interview Feb 16th and it was approved. The blonde consular lady said we'd get the passport/visa in a week. I have two issues/concerns.

#1 I only registered for courier services on the USAVisa Info site..I logged in today just shows a reference ID... no waybill #. I used that reference # to try to pop it into the DHL website..shows nothing. That's my first confusion. I know a cpl that went the day before I did...they're visa is ready to be picked up as of this morning. So I would assume mine would at least be in the system.

    #2 I didn't receive a Welcome to the USA letter..should I be concerned??

Thanks in advance for all your answers.

  9. Ok, this whole DHL thing has got me a little confused..how do i get my waybill #? I logged into the website where I signed up for courier services..Do I just use my reference ID for tracking? it's been 3 days since my interview..I figured it might be shipped out today and nothing. I used the reference ID that I got off the Usavisa info website for reference tracking..is that correct?

  10. So umm can anyone help me? they didn't give me a reference number or anything. How do I track the visa through DHL? What reference number? from where I signed into the visainfo thingy?

  11. Approved! I was nervous as hell. We got there 715 am. Group C...my wife and I were the loud ones cracking jokes and trying to lighten the mood. To the blonde consular lady..I thank You very much. I appreciate you putting up with my nerves. If this gets back to u...thank u for helping us put our family back together again. Now I have to figure out How to track my DHL. btw I guess the consulars have been getting in big ###### for allowing pickups of visas

...so I think the policy is going to change soon where DHL will be the only way to get your visa. Ill post more later.

  12. Am I reading the weather report right? 6 to 8 inches of snow from sunday night to Tuesday morning? and the rest of the week..blah. I'm driving up to montreal tomorrow from Windsor..10 hour drive. Interview is Wednesday morning..the cold weather is supposed to break early Wednesday morning. Be careful driving and dress warmly all u Valentine Week Interviewers!!

  13. I got a call Tuesday Feb 8 ,in the morning from the Montreal Consulate..they had just received our file upstairs..well I figure upstairs, where ever. They said the expedite was granted and that I needed to get my medical ASAP. So I got my medical taken care of Wednesday morning in Toronto and we're going to pick up my Medical folder on the way up to Montreal this coming monday. Sophia who called was very nice and patient with me as I was friggin shocked and stumbled over my words on the phone. Interview date set for Wednesday Feb 16 at 9 am! Super quick..almost too quick. But I believe we'll be ready. She told me that we just needed to bring a few originals that weren't requested, divorce decrees, and my criminal check, which I had thought we sent in..but just a copy, my bad. All the other usual stuff off the sheet, domicile, photos, phone logs, emails and facebook screen shots. Copy of bills and a few other things as well as the documentation regarding our Expedite. I pray it goes well, I'm soo nervous that I'm sick.

I hope it all works out positively as I want and need to get back home. I'll let you guys know what happens when I get back in about a week.

  14. I'll make sure to mention that to the interviewing officer when I have my interview and they say I'm approved.. I'm gonna say, please make sure I dont get in that computer glitch you got going on, lol.

  15. My jeep is in my dad's name..we're just gonna transfer ownership once the time comes..I'm gonna give my dad the money to make the car payment. I can still get a compliance letter..without having paid the car off. My dad will be on the hook for the money..lol. It was a wedding present btw.

In your case Montreal Girl, since you're leaving the country...u gotta pay the ####### off. Different situation than mine.

  16. We had our NVC expedited..and they tell us the expedite was granted for Montreal..so that's why I'm sorta clueless. Give them a few more days I guess. I just want to know my interview date..it's killing me.

The part that does worry me is what if they didn't get the packet cuz of the ####### weather ya know, lol. Guess I'll just have to wait till Tuesday or Wednesday and see what happens. I know one girl had her's expedited..and Montreal contacted her for an interview for about 3 weeks after her NVC completion. So I'm thinking if all gets done ok, expedite..we're looking at interview in 3 or 4 weeks. If our expedite at consular level isn't done, then I'm guessing an april interview.

  17. Ok..I just need to vent and any advice would be great. NVC completed our file last week, Jan 24th! Said it was going to be sent to Montreal in a few days. Told by NVC this past week that we should hear something by this friday (today) and if not, to call DOS. Since we have an Expedite request approved..so we've been told..I figured we'd hear real quick. Montreal is supposed to contact us directly. Anyways..we haven't heard anything, DOS says that Montreal hasn't even entered our CASE into the system yet???

So, is Montreal starting to backlog again? Anybody have some recent experience here in the last few days of getting an interview scheduled? I looked at some other members who were approved in early January and had their interviews scheduled within a 6 to 8 week period.

I know I'm being pushy..but I have reason to be, some of you know my situation. I figured I'd at least hear something by now, after nearly being close to two weeks of being done at NVC.

If anyone has been recently approved or gotten their interview letter, I'd love to hear from you.

Yes, I already emailed the IV unit supervisor in Montreal..last week and once again this morning.

thanks for all your replies and information.

  18. Latest news is that we're supposed to hear directly from Montreal and if we dont hear from them by THIS friday, we have to call NVC Washington, which is Dept of State. Did anyone else have to submit all originals? They required ALL original documents to be sent to them...I thought that was odd..or does anything think it was due to our Expedite request/approval? Well..snow storm is kicking here in Windsor..I suppose I can wait a few more days..I'll clean enough snow to stay busy.
