Congrats again...so glad he made it HOME to you and all is well. Much happiness to you all!!

WOW now thats some persistance and dedication. Bravo for you. And 1 1/2 years is invaluable ya know. I got to live with my husband 6 1/2 months and it really helped and strengthened our marriage. To live day to day and not live like tourist was real and fun (sometimes ) wouldn't trade it for the world.
Yes, and looking on it now, it was so worth it...but at the time it was hard...the waiting and having someone else determine your life.

My mother accompainied me on my second trip in which we were married. BOTH my parents then went back with me on my third trip (6 months after the marriage) in order to be there for the interview (stayed 5 weeks)...the interview wasnt until they had gone back and I STAYED....result...case sent back....Now with that said....I would advice your wife to YES go back for another visit...Sometimes it is the luck of the draw on wether being approved after one visit and marriage...but inorder to help your case, if possible I would encourage her to visit again! I stayed and lived there with my husband for over 1 1/2 year until our case was reaffirmed and another interview....result...APPROVED! It took us 3 years, 2 different petitions, and 5 interviews, 3 trips for me and 2 for mom and one for dad, to prove to them our relationship was real...We have been here in US for 1 year!!!

Since you application was for a K1..it will expire, and probably already has. K1 are the one applications that do expire. You may or maynot receive a notice from USCIS stating such, some have gotten them some have not. Trying to find out WHY they sent it back could be a chore...usually from the interview and the questions asked between you and your fiance you should be able to know what was answered incorrectly (assuming questions where). You can refile another K1 application, but you have to make sure the first is expired and closed...then free to refile again that application or marry and file for a CR1, totally up to you as a couple.
Sorry your petition was sent back...Casa is tough.
Hope this helps.

Happy Labor Day!! How did your interview go...any decision yet?

We just went through this a year ago...my wife, the petitioner lives with her parents (as we both do now)...my wife is my sponsor so she filled out the I864 even though she had no income, but she is the primary sponsor, then her parents both filled out the I 864a as the co sponsors. They both work, file joint taxes, but had to fill out individual forms for co sponsor, since we needed both their income total. That worked for us just about a year ago. Hope this helps.

Your K1 will more than likely expire, if it hasnt already.....You may receive notice of this or not, some do most dont...You will not receive a NOIR for this since it does expire. But you need to know the reasons why they sent it back and be able to address them, if it was just questions not answered correctly or what. You can go ahead and file your new petition CR1 and be fine. Again 99% of the K1 expire and have not been given an extension, which would have come from Casa. But do try to find out why it was sent back and address those issues. Hope this helps.

Ditto to what Tany said!

Same thing for us...checked the box but never got it...went to local office with green card and they applied for it again for him...it did take 4 weeks to get it..but have received it....
I would just call or go into local office and do it there.

Your answer is simple, straight forward and I respect where you are coming from because you know CASA
Thank you
Maybe I am just getting weak with the waiting...hahaha
I the USC changed my passport after we married in Casa, 09, after K1 was returned, then filed for I130 in '10 ...I didnt do my drivers lisnces as to wait till it expired....I tried to do my SS card but when I went a lady there said I needed the original marriage cert., I had brought home a translated copy...she didnt know what she was talking about as I found out after my husband came in Oct, 11, and we went to apply for his and they accepted the translated copy...anyway...I didnt have a problem with changing name on passport and then using it to return to Morocco and wait it out with husband until approved. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your fast response to my questions. I cannot believe that I received four reaffirmation letters from USCIS, butI cannot get anything from the NVC. LOL
Thanks again for your help.
It took a while (dont remember exactly) for NVC to get our case...USCIS wasnt quick to send as they said they would....congrats on the reaffirmation.

After u get reaffirmed USCIS sends ur case to NVC (this is just a formality and it usually comes in and is logged and they send it right out to Casa)...You may get an email from Casa (we did not, got our appointment date by calling DOS), u will have interview, after approval they will tellu what documents (police, court, birth cert., I-864 (fianancial), and physical and updated immunizations) you need and how long u have to return them. And then they will tell u when to pick up VISA!!!
Hope this helps.
Oh, and how long before interview, always depends on how busy they r ....then tend to be LESS busy at this time of year...so shouldnt be to much of a wait.
Also u dont have to pay any other fees at interview...just to get needed documents.

For those who have arrived in the USA....has anyone found a way to watch Moraccan channels on TV, NOT internet....through satelite. If so, what provider do u have. Any info would be appreciated.
what do you miss about Morocco?
in Middle East and North Africa

We just returned from Morocco Sat. the 6th, my husbands first time back after being here for 14 months.
Whats there NOT to miss...it is an amazing place to go and visit. It is such an entirely different world from here in the US.
Family of course is the first thing missed...knowing they are not able to hop a plane, like us, and visit anytime...is hard!!
The love and compassion they show is massaive and unconditional...all the time!!
Already looking forward to the next trip!!
