Hi,

My friend and her family recieved thier greencard though her brother-in-law sponsoring them.

they recieved the cards in 2006 and have not moved to the US from Canada.

they want to wait until their children have completed highschool before moving (a few more years)

is there something they can do to keep their status and move in a few years?

The want to visit the US but the immigration person told them thier green cards will be confiscated if they try to visit and do not establish thier residency.

Wow,

I just sent my N-400 package, and it feels great.

I was looking at my timeline and I sent my first package to USCIS (for the finace visa) 4 years to the day.

I just wanted to share this with my Fellow VJer's.

Thanks for the support and advice. I wonder how much $$ we've saved by using VJ and not a lawyer

Besides the information on the usics website, should i include any other documentation etc. During the initial GC stage i remember sending photos of my husband and I, letter from friends, bills with both of our names, leases etc. Do we have to send these types of documents again?

As an HR person and a Canadian the information your Husband recieved is WRONG!! the Dumb HR person is probably confusing Citizenship with Permanent Residency.

My husband (US born) and I just celebrated our third wedding anniversary in July . My conditional green card expired in May 2008 and I currently have my one year extention letter.

I"m also from Mississauga, I came to NYC for grad school and then met my (now) husband-- we live in NJ very close to Rutgers for about 4 years now.

I too fear of having someone side swipe me on the NJturnpike-- and what is up with the U- turn-- Jug Handles or whatever their called. I find the more south you go in Jersey the nicer people are-- but if you go too far south then you end up with the Beach types. If you go North you end up with all those who think they are from New York and have the most horrible accents.

Even though America is full of diverse cultures I find that the people are very ignorant of one another's backgrounds. I would love to move back to Canada, and maybe one day i will, but for now, i'm trekking along waiting for paperwork and trying to swallow Dunkin' Donuts coffee.

Maybe we should start a group of Canadian Women in NJ...any thoughts?

Hey WenRI.. Don't worry you'll get yours soon:) i sent mine via Fedex early morning delivery to Vermont. I've heard it can take a couple weeks to get your NOA and cheque cashed.

Woo hoo!! I recieved my corrected green card about 3 months after sending back my original card with the error. I was relieved to see that my new card has no mistakes..

Don't worry about having the interview before your work authorization. I actually had my interview, recieved my greencard, and they still have not touched my EAD application. I am able to work because imade an infopass apointment to get a temporary work permit.

Last night i checked my mailbox, and a recieved a letter from the NBC basincally they have recieved my 1-90 and supporting documents anda decsion should be made in 90-120 days. i feel a little better knowing the documents were recieved.
