I dont understand what the hold up is but byt the looks of it they are starting to churn the rest of July's out although i really dont see why this is taking so long for yours. Have you been put through to higher escalation and also have u tried the vermont email?? x
Yeah we've tried everything now.. I think we'll still call once a week but other than that I think we'll just have to wait a wee bit longer.. thanks folks..

Well thats us hit 6 months today!! Congrats to everyone who has received their NA02 of late.. In our case, rather than continually being negative Im going to start focussing on the fact that right now we are surely closer after month 6 than if we were at month 1.. All the best everyone..

Im trying to put things in place in the event that at some stage I get approval.. However I have turned my house upside down looking for my birth certificate and can't find it.. If it does end up lost for good can I get round this.. I am a British Citizen but, as my father was in the army I was born in Germany. Will this cause extra hassle..
6 months this saturday folks.. hate to admit it this but the whole thing is now making me physically sick.. Pathetic I know!!

Vermont is moving!!!
Hang in there, y'all! Approvals are coming.
It might be moving but it seems to have left some of us behind..
-
Right thats me sent off an email for Rach to then send.. now will the reply be 30 days or 60 days!!
Cheers Lucy.. took some really good points from your mail..
-
yup weve done the congress thing.. they said theyve been in touch with uscis and expect an answer in 30 days.. its just unbelievable isnt it?
-
Just out of curiosity, what do you plan to do if the evil tyrants of the USCIS make good on their threat to steal yet another 60 days out of the lives of two innocent, law abiding, hard working, taxpaying, fee paying people?
I have no idea.. cant think of anything else as we've done everything.. we'll just keep calling I suppose.. any advice?

Well, I got the long awaited reply from VSC today. After waiting the 2 weeks on the inquiry on my case, I got an email response saying, "Your case is currently under review. You will receive a notice of action within 60 days of the date of this letter." 60 days? Are they kidding me? It's already been 5.5 months! You'd think they could at least give me a tighter time frame than that! I knew the government was inefficient, but I didn't know they would be this inconsistent and unfair, approving August filers when a lot of July filers are past their time frame. Sorry I couldn't bring some good news, but just had to get that off my chest. I know the Lord's timing is perfect and that this wait has strengthened my faith and my relationship with my fiancee, but I just wish USCIS would show some consistency!
We just received exactly the same email tonight in response to calling uscis the other day.. I wouldnt pay attention to it as its clearly a generic automated response. I can assure you we won't be waiting 60 days!!

I'm afraid I have to disappoint you... no, my country isn't and never was built on immigrants. On top of that, I'm not impressed by the USA that much. My wife had kids and I didn't, so I took my responsibility and moved here. It took me 3,5 years to become a citizen and only 4 months for the naturalization. Which is not bad. I don't see what is so political in this debate. Bob was trying to explain, in his own style, why it takes longer for some people to get through immigration. No reason to call him harsh. I know reality sucks sometimes, but it still is reality.
Eh? Its not your country but you took citizenship and naturalization? thats a bit contradictory is it not? I really don't see calling someone harsh as being a problem.. I felt it was clear the person he was referring to is suffering right now..
So because this is reality right now we just accept it? So nothing can be improved on the whole system? Things can always be improved.. In saying that I hope your move works out for you..

Come on guys.... cut out the BS. You know the rules when you want to marry somebody from another country. You have to go trough immigration. When you think it's so much easier somewhere else... be my guest and go live there. I'm not a big fan of the way the USCIS handles certain things either but they have a lot of work... a lot. And as always, the good people have to pay the price for the bad behavior of those trying to shortcut the system. Bob wasn't harsh, he was sarcastic. An American that goes into a relationship with a foreigner knows there will be problems. The more unfriendly the country is towards the USA the more problems you will have. You know that. Don't blame the system... or as we say it... stay out of the kitchen when you can't stand the heat.
Nonsense.. no one has a problem going through immigration.. its the fact the whole system is broken and needs fixed.. As ive said before if I pay $455 I don't think its unreasonable to expect a response in a timely manner.. When we've called USCIS we have been downright lied to on many occasions.. please don't be patronising about your suggestion to "be my guest and go live there". Im sure you are aware your country is built on "immigrants". This whole thread is getting ridiculous.. For me VJ as a place for support not to start some political debate.. I hope everyone of us gets everything resolved soon..

Paul also called tonight... he finally got to talk to an immigration officer and she told him that they cant put a service request in because we are within our time frame :bonk:but she also said that our case is "officially being reviewed now" what this mean??? IDK!!!
More news.. Rach got a letter from congress stating they are now dealing with our case = Good Times. but......USCIS have given them a timescale of at least 30 days for an outcome = Bad Times.. Im now off to find a brick wall in this house that I haven't yet banged my head on!!!!
-
Bob, your response seems very harsh and uncaring. The writer was sharing his sense of despair, anger and hopelessness. The truth is that it is very, very, very difficult to be in a situation that you have no control over. And even worse....no information from the "powers that be".
Personally I thought his post was very well written and can relate to what he wrote. If that invokes a 2nd harsh response from you, so be it.
Absolutely agree with you 100% Carla1.. That was harsh Bob.. The guy is in pain like the rest of us and put his point across really well..
-
Rach called again tonight.. they put in another service request so i can expect another generic mail stating "you are within your timeframe, we are dealing with july 10th filers....etc"
We are at 6 months this saturday.. way to go vermont!!
-
Other than the VJ website where we filers share our thoughts during this journey. I really have some things on my chest that I would like to share with geniuses that run the USCIS. Apparently, they don't care to accept our evaluations and I feel that they already know what we think of them.
Professionalism, in my book, is another way of using the word 'Honor'. without honor, we the human kind have no responsibility to strive for anything good. A man with no honor will say something today and forgets before sun goes down, simply because he does not have will to keep his word. Same for a Company or an Institution of some kind that should run by a team of professionals. Usually their goal is to maintain a certain level of professionalism in order to achieve a good reputation.
The problem with the USCSI is that it runs below the standards of professionalism, therefore we can not expect real solutions. We just pay the big bucks-and I mean some of us have overpaid and go wait for God knows how long.
There should be no reason for any of us to have to wait 1 day more than what was posted 5months/150days. The extention was already overbearing.
I really don't find this amusing anymore!!
Even when we get the visa, It won't be the same anymore, It's been a real turn off!!
Im 100% with you on this.. ill be at 6 months this saturday and have been given nothing in way of explanation as to why its taken so long.. This should have been an exciting time but instead its been frustrating and painful.. I understand what the last poster said but i won't forget all of this.. not just because it soured my experience but due to the fact nothings going to change and thousands more will go through the same thing..
-
Mine and someone else's approved yesterday - they really need to start picking up the pace!!!
oh congrats.. youve been as p****d off as me so im happy for you! so am I now officially the last July Filer? how did you find out?
-
July 17th - approved yesterday - god knows what date they are working on!!!!!
NO WAY! that makes me so angry!
-
No, they are not. Look at Igor's list: There have been 7 NOA2s in December, and 4 of them are post-July 10. Ask them about that.
You need to have your call escalated. The people at the lowest level are robots who have no clue as to what is going on and simply read answers off of sheets. When you call them on their wrong answers and force them to make things up, they come up with things out of the twilight zone since they do not have the slightest clue as to what is really happening.
The really sad part is that the higher ups at USCIS must really think that we are stupid enough to be satisfied by the non-answers from these know nothings.
Rach asked the call to be escalated.. They refused again and said the only way to speak to an immigration officer was to arrange an appointment at the local office.. An earlier poster mentioned a service request not being put through as the 5 months were not up.. They put a service request through for us at the end of November, a full 2 weeks before our 5 weeks and guess what.. Rach received an impersonal standardized letter saying they were working on dates between XX-XX and to call back in 30 days.. So again.. absolutely no consistency at all..
I know its stating the obvious here but I hope noone on here is naive enough to think when they say they'll be in touch in 12 days etc its likely to happen.. maybe but probably not.. They just want to appease you so you stop talking to them and go away for a bit.. Our thoughts are keep calling "politely" at least once a week till it happens.. either that or sitting silently in misery!!
-
Here's a new response we got when calling again yesterday which is just laughable!! Rach said to the guy that she understood they were working on July 10 just now.. the guy said yes.. So she jumped in with "well we are July 8 Filers so can I have my NOA2 now please".. the response.. "err actually we are working on May to July 10th" Tossers!
-
She could still have come to visit you during the holidays, even though you have a pending application.
With that said, I understand it is frustrating, waiting without knowing for how long is frustrating.
Since you're waiting for NOA2 it's still going to be a while until she has her K-1 Visa in her passport.
Thinking that it would take less than 6 months for the whole process might have been a bit optimistic.
(For me it took Nov '09 -> May '10 = 7 months)
There's still time for her to get on a flight and come here or you could go there?
We are told we are almost at the end of our journey and have to prepare for this.. How many times do you spend money on transatlantic flights before you are broke? I have spent thousands of pounds over our 3 year relationship and we now have to prepare for me being unemployed for 3 months when I first arrive in the states so I know what you are saying but its not that simple..
I REALLY wish people would stop saying its a bit optimistic thinking it would be less than 6 months.. We were asked to pay $455 for something that has a 5 month timescale.. THe task itself takes 15 minutes and many people have been approved after a matter of weeks so why on earth would we not expect or DEMAND the whole thing was done within the agreed timescale.. How about if I booked my flight to the states for $455 and when I arrived at the airport they said "sorry but we are going to give your seat to the people who booked after you, call back in 30 days and we'll maybe have a flight for you".. The whole thing is a joke.. I paid the money, did my part and they haven't done there's..
Im not ranting at you K&M.. I think Im ranting at the world now!!
-
My NOA1 is July 17. I just call USCIS, and they told me everything looks good, but i have to wait 30 days more.I ask to talk to someone who can look on my case. They put me on hold for 40 minutes without answer. We hit 165 days.No hope. How long they need to approve that? We have to wait....wait....wait.....and call after 30 days....and the say again........... call in 30 days. This is shame.
Exactly, Its just a standard answer so you'll go away and "hopefully" things will be resolved within 30 days!! We've been told 30 days then 2 days later 60 days.. They'll get called every week until its resolved!!

Even if you do call, and even if you do get news like I did (an RFE was issued 12/16), I still have yet to receive the hard copy RFE. So I don't even know what I need to provide. My holidays have been crappy, too. And my fiance and I almost broke up because this pressure is getting to me. I actually tried to explain this on another post and on top of it get told by others who do not know anything about my relationship that I am in a "cracked up" relationship....so I am really feeling pain and lack of support. People who have been fairly treated in this process have no idea what it is like and what kind of stressed it causes when you are treated unfairly.
Totally with you on this!! I know most of them mean well but there are some people on this site who need to engage brain before typing. All this, be patient, find things to do ####### just annoys me!! Like Ive said if I had managed to stay patient over 6 months Id have to start doubting the relationship.. One guy also said to calm down etc and he got his after 6 weeks!! aaaaaaargh!! I don't think some people realise how patronising they sound when we are literally tearing our hair out!!
....and you have the support of Rach and I and everyone else in this thread Im sure..
VSC Filer 6 months today!!

Just listened in on another call between Rach and USCIS.. She asked for an update and the operator told her she didnt have access other than the case was pending.. Rach asked if she could be transferred to someone who did have access. She was told no but she could arrange an appointment at the local immigration office but by doing this it could delay our case!! The operator told Rach to wait for the result of the service request, Rach said but that'll be approx another 20 days and will just tell us to wait another 60 days and we've been waiting over 6 months.. The operator clearly didn't give a flying ****!!
