  1. As far as the religious ceremony, I would call or email the consulate/ embassy in Singapore and ask how they handle that situation. Every country seems to handle these situations differently. Since you don't have a bank account, you might want to try having a co-sponsor, if a bank account is needed for a K-3. I filed a K-1 visa and my dad was our co-sponsor and all that was needed were his taxes and pay stubs, as well as a proof of employment. We were never asked for proof of having a bank account. As far as I know if you two get married while she is on a travel visa, you can begin to fill out the K-3, however once the travel visa expires she may have to return to Singapore.I hope this helps :). Good Luck to you both!

Thank you for taking the time out and for the help.

  2. Thank you for the help JimVaPhuong and engineer21.

What kind of visa would we need if we get married in singapore. Do we have to apply there at the embassy or would I have to apply back here in the US? Some of my friends say just come back on tourist visa and register with the state. Is that illegal? Do religious marriages matter in this immigration process since they are not legal marriages? I don't know if that makes sense or not. Not sure on how to go about asking that question.

    Thank you,

    Alberto and Asniah

  3. I am a US Citizen getting married to a Singapore Citizen. My questions are: We are getting married in Singapore in a religious ceremony and not by law does that mean we have to apply for a K-3 Visa? How should we go about this? Also I know one of the requirements is to have a bank account. I have been employed at my job for 6 years and I can support my future wife. I have to kids and support them. How can I provide that info if I don't have one. Yes I know you will say go get one but I can't since someone did Identity theft on me. As for that I was put on a black list by TCF Bank thru the Chex Systems. I am really frustrated since I have tried to get a bank and get turned down everytime. I am on that list for about 2 more years. Also if my future wife were to come here on tourist visa and we decided to get married would that be illegal? Could we go about it that way? I have heard from some friends that they had friends do that, everything went ok and . I am so confused on what to do. Please help!!!!

    Thank you,

  4. My fiancee and I have been dating for 2 years. We have visited each other with in those two years. She is from Singapore and I am natural born U.S. citizen. Ok my questions is how can I prove that I have money since I don't have a bank account. I use have a bank account a long time ago but I got my identity stolen and was black listed and blamed for the whole thing. So I am black listed by the bank for about 5 more years. I do have a debit card that you get at the store. Its called a green dot card. I have banking number and stuff but I don't think that is what they are looking for. I mean the maximum I can load on that card is $2,500. I do have money and I have had the same job for about 6 years now. I make about 30,000 a year. Not much but still able to support my two kids. Can anyone help me with this problem?

Are there other wise of getting around this or another way of getting her here to marry me and be able to proceed with paper work.

    Thank you,

    Alberto

    P.S.

Also if there is anyone out there that knows how to get off the bank black list let me know or a good second chance bank.
