Blessed2011 got a reaction from yachachiq12 in immigration officer visit.
I can relate with you on this (look at my timeline). We also had immigration officers visit us at home. The first time they came home we were not there. They came a week later & luckily i was home. They woke me up at around 7am. My husband was not home as he works at 4am. The officers were from homeland security.
What i can advise you is to go ahead and expect a second visit-or if worse maybe a second interview . DO LET them in. They showed me their badges and introduced themselves. Its not our right to get the GC, they have to prove that we really do qualify-and for your case & mine, that the marriage is legitimate. If your marriage is real, then there is nothing to worry about. That being said, in the end you want a GC, so i would suggest your husband understands that too and does what they require, and that means opening your door for them be it 6am in the morning. It will be worth it in the end.
That being said, roughly 2 months after my home visit, i finally got my 10yr GC. So just take heart, i know this is frustrating, but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Trust me, i was there once.

    Blessed2011 got a reaction from Dr. A ♥ O in June 2010 Filers
    Hey All,
I had my GC appointment today at 1pm. My husband and i got there at around 12:45pm. Believe it or not, we were called in at a couple of minutes to 1! The IO requested us to leave our cell phone outside the room on a basket. She said before we sat dowb she needed us to be sweared under oath and she told us to lift our right arms. After that she told us to sit. Then she asked for our ID'S, and for me (beneficiary) she also asked for my passport. She then asked us our address and my husband told it to him. She then started me the normal questions about ever being a terrorist/a prostitute.....and ofcourse the answer to all that was a no. She then asked me my date of birth and my parents first names and where they live. She then asked me my cell phone number and did the same to my husband. Asked us when we met/where/when we started dating/when we got engaged/when was the wedding/where was the wedding. The asked for our address/asked where i work/how long i have been working there. She then asked my husband if he still works at the same job. She then told us to stand up and read a piece of paper at her desk and sign it. The paper said, '.......Permanent Resident!!!!!.....something about removal of conditions 90 days before the 2 years are over. I was so excited! She then concluded by telling me to watch my mail for the green card!
Overall it was a very good experience. All the questions took about 5-10 minutes!!!! We thanked her and out we went!
Am so happy we dont have to deal with immigration for another 2 years or so!
Than you everyone here on VJ for all your advice and stories about your ingterviews. We were really lucky our IO was very professional and never asked us unnecessary questions.
p.s Another thing, she asked us for any documents we wanted her to see and we gave her our evidence which included utility bills, bank statements, lease copy, and life insurance beneficiary forms. She never asked to see any pictures even though we had 3 albums full of pictures! We did not have any car/health insurance together as we both prefer to have our own. The IO told us she could see we looked like a happy couple. By the way we went to the St Louis office. That's my story! Thanks again everyone. Now just hoping that GC comes quickly
