  1. Visa should be good for 6 months from the date of the medical, same as with your fiancee.

I thought it was 6 months from the visa being issued. Are you sure about 6 months from medical?

Im glad she got the visa. Congratulations!

    Thank you.

  2. My fiance was issued her visa Feb 21 2014. We want the kids to follow on K2. My question is if the they get the K2 visa before Feb 21 2015 do they have 6 months to travel after the visa is issued like on the K1 or do they need to travel by Feb 21 2015 to the states?

  3. I was interviewed today and got approved! Thank you VJ for all the help... special thanks to Hank!

Glad to see you guys made it through the transfer process. Our Interview is Feb 21st! Almost there.

  4. The two year requirement (of meeting in person) was for the petition, not an issue now. Your fiance has up to a year from the approval of the petition (date on the NOA2) to complete her visa process, so if you need to slow down and take a break to regroup you do have some time. Then after that the K2 has another year to receive their visas from the date your fiancee is issued her visa.

Issue is having someone take care of the children during this time period.

  5. My Fiance's X mother in law took ill and it doesn't look good she was looking after the kids. Looks like the father will not come home and stay with the kids until we can get money together to bring them to the states. We said in I-129f that they weren't following. I-130 looks like it takes a long time and we have to wait for my fiance to get GC. Can someone help us with options. My fiance's Mom will not take care of kids until we can get things straightened out money wise. She has already raised one of the kids and has a the youngest child in her care. My fiance and are very stressed to say the least. She cannot leave her kids with no one to take care of them. I can't afford to start this over and do another trip to phils. Our 2 years will pass at the beginning of this April 2014.Things are not looking good.

  6. We are I129 and got a FEB 4th interview..took me five days of checking every hour during the day but one finally became available. We would have taken anything that was available...it was the only one I saw.

I check all the time and never see anything. I check so much they cut me off. What time of the day here in the states are you checking. I usally check during Manila embassy working hours. Which is night here. I can't stay up all night and then go to work?

  7. Has she not gotten a police report from Qatar and Bahrain before she left? I got mine from UAE before I left. But only valid until Feb 12, which is for 3 months. I have asked question to Manila Embassy if I need to provide a valid police clearance during the interview as my clearance is only good for 3 months and might expire before the interview date. That made me really worried.

It happened very quickly. Her boss was jerk. If she could have stayed 6 more weeks she would be here right now. We had no choice. She was in a bad spot and did not have time to tie up loose ends.

This is their reply, i guess i still needed to provide because I was a resident of UAE at the time of application... but will not be required to get another police clearance since i no longer reside in UAE as this is only given to residents who are present in UAE.

By working in UAE your considered a resident? odd.

I don't know what to do now, and how long we have to wait. I don't mind waiting, as long as I know what's going on!!! My biggest complaint with this process is the lack of communication whether electronic or voice.

All we have at this point is God and prayer.

  8. wow! i can't believe this is happening. I don't understand what's keeping them calling you that they got it? I called them yesterday and after a long hold, I asked them if they got my file or to confirm to me that they really did requested from Abu Dhabi the transfer and if it says on the system... just for me to have peace of mind that my case is somewhat "on process". after giving all my details, they told me that they can't help me and that i should just send them an email (same as they told you)....! CEAC status is still READY (this is the status when NVC sent the files to Abu Dhabi. I assume this will change once they send it to Manila.

May I just ask, you said that they got it before the typhoon, how did you know that they already have your file?

This looooooong wait is frustrating. Everyday, i keep praying that today will be my lucky day and will get good news. This loooong wait is very frustrating.

Once you hear from them, can you please update me? you are the only one that have the same case as me. I will appreciate it.

    Goodluck to us!

We have requested the U.S. Embassy in Doha to forward the visa file to Manila. We will notify your fiancée as soon as we receive the petition.

Nov 25th: email I sent to get an update with no response from Manila embassy.

Nov 27th (from Doha Embassy): Your Transfer is in Progress.

For real time case status updates, please visit the following website, using your application ID (barcode) or case number:

From my point of view it seems if you have to transfer to a busy embassy like Manila than a natural disaster happens it takes a long time. I just hope the visa is not lost.

Currently we are running into problems getting police reports from Qatar and Bahrain. Can take up to 3 months! If it's not one thing it's another. Also more requirements, money, and pain to get it. Sigh

  9. hello,

i just got an email from Manila Embassy that they have requested UAE to send them our file. I don't know how long it will take. Have you heard from them?

We are stuck in manila embassy heck. It left Qatar over a month ago. They got it before the typhon hit. We tried calling from my fiance side and states. When she got hold of a person in the Embassy they took all of her information than said they can't help her! They told her to email: IVManilaAttachments@state.gov Which I have done several times and they say nothing to me but check the CEAC website. Going on 2 months for us. To say I'm mad would be an understatement! This whole process is BS. They really need to be able to communicate better with people and let them know what is going on! Thats the worst part is the lack of communication!

  10. I just got a reply from manila embassy that they are forwarding my request to the transfer department. This is like after I sent them 5 emails! I finally git acknowledgement. Now I just wonder how long this will take again (?!)

My has been transferring for almost 2 weeks now. Still waiting on Manila number. Patients is the key. I would get your fiancee working on her police clearance from UAE now. Should be able to do it at UAE embassy in Manila.

  11. I was looking at my I-129f. it does have a place where they are for abroad address question 15. Question 1 probably should be home country address. Question 20 ask which consulate you want to use. I don't think this would help my transfer issue. Except that when it gets to Manila they know how to contact fiance in the Philippines. Good Idea. Tell the Captain!

I wonder if that's why they have not contact my fiance? Although we included all of her info on the written transfer request from her.

I hate being in the no information zone.

  12. Did you flat out ask them for the MNL # and they refused to give it?

I really wish I had a good idea as to how to do that, but you know their drill .... they don't want you doing jack until the physical file is there. Lot's easier when NVC is tossing ya the MNL #. wink.png

When you try to track with the Kuwait number what shows up?

It's Doha Qatar. All the message says is "Transfer in progress"

This is the email response from the embassy in Manila: "We have requested the U.S. Embassy in Doha to forward the visa file to Manila. We will notify your fiancée as soon as we receive the petition."

The embassy response was on November 12th. State Department uses DHL and they are not this slow. I use them all the time and when I do the slowest method it only takes three business days.

  13. Thank you! I sent them (manila embassy) an email last nov 1st to ask for a transfer. But I still dont have reply from them. Its getting frustrating. They can at least acknowledge my email that they got it, would have bben good.

Did you get the canned email response? I get a mile long canned email response everytime I start a new email thread with the embassy. If you didn't get that I would say they never received it. Also you need to make sure embassy in UAE knows you wish to change to manila.

  14. Hello, im trying also to move our case from UAE to Manila. I sent a request last nov 1 and no reply yet. How soon did u hear from them? Thanks!

This is what I have done. I contact Doha first. They have chat at their embassy. I got a UID number from them. They said I need that to move it to Manila embassy. Next via email I contact Manila embassy (I was never able to get through via phone number). They requested a document with my fiance stating why the case needed to be moved (keep it short and to the point). You need to have her sign it and than email it to the embassy. I used my email address for all of the correspondence. Once that was complete they said they would get it moved. I did not hear anything for about 2 weeks. I emailed several times. Recently I got a response saying that it was being moved. Now when I go to the CEAC website with the old Doha number it has a status of transferring. We are now 6 weeks into the moving process. If her Boss would have let her stay in Doha we would be done and she would be her next week. Now with this delay and the recovery effort in phils I have no idea. At least something is happening.

Email I used to contact Manila: IVManilaReplies@state.gov

Phils Number for Manila Embassy: (632) 301- 2000

    US number: (703) 520-2235

FYI: I called State Department to see if i did everything correctly and to see if anything else need to be done and they said I did everything I needed to do.

  15. Spoke with state department on this and everything I have already done to have this moved is the correct method.

The State Dept said to work with the embassies and send a letter from my fiance to the one you want it moved to. Done. Just waiting to here from Manila that the visa has been moved to their queue.
