  1. Also do not forget when you get your nbi clearance, also get one with the aka married name and the before married name, otherwise at the interview you will be sent home with a 221g like my fiancee was. It is still delaying our case since the interview on july21, it took nearly 45 days for the additional nbi due her getting a hit on her married name and them having to do a complete background check. Still in limbo waiting for passport to be delivered to us.

  2. Have to vent, and this was all i could think of to do... We responded to the usem request for some further documents which we returned with her passport back to usem on sept 14th.

Now here it is almost a month later and still all they can tell me it is in review. She was approved in the interview pending additional info which we provided. They keep telling me it is a 10-15 business day wait, but so far we are past those numbers and it is really starting to piss me off big time. I write emails and no response, the clerks don't know or won't tell anything other than its still in review..

Anyone here send stuff back or gotten an approved visa that still waiting for it to be delivered? I could use some sort of reference to go by... Thanks

  3. thats a good question, never heard of them asking for the original divoce degree, I wouldnt even think of sending my original overseas. hmmm Heck just sent copy with I-129. Yup just reviewed I-129 only asked for copies, I would be interested to hear from others on this.

All original divorce decrees are kept at the county courthouse. What we receive are copies with court stamp, signature, or a raised seal to validate it. It becomes our original. I had copies of those made and sent to her and they were sufficient for her interview..

  4. Please, we are both going crazy with the wait. Anyone here had to send anything back to embassy after interview with 221g? What sort of time frame are we looking at here? My baby had to get an additional nbi clerance with her ex married name alias on it, its been sent back w/passport and now been at embassy since sept13 according to the 2go tracking no.

Seems each day i call the embassy and/ or the 2go service all they will tell me is it is not out for delivery yet. No one can tell anything else about its status. And i thought the waiting for noa2 was nerve wrecking... Sheeeesh...!!

  5. I have bought many tickets for my fiancee to travel around the PH and to the interview itself. Each time she had to provide a photocopy of the CC and my ID to get the boarding pass. I assure you, if you arrive at the ticket counter for your flight to America, you will not get a boarding pass until you can prove the ID and CC of the person buying the ticket from outside PH. This has been my experience.

I think when it is time for my fiancee to get her USA flight, I will just send her the money and let her buy it there. I understand that some travel agents in PH can get a USA immigrant discount for first time trips to USA. not sure if this is true or not.

  6. My fiancee lives as far south in Mindanao as you can get in General Santos City, been there many times, lived there for 3 months once. No problem encountered while there, although I will not travel west of there. Me and my other eventually plan to live in Davao as my retirement years grow near. I am already trying to set up some passive income streams over the next few years.

  7. Just got woke up with a text to call my fiancee... she just was telling me the visa interview was passed and they told her she was approved, but she did have to go to the NSO and get an additional doc with her ex-marriage name on it as it was when she was married 12 years ago ... then she is to send it and the passport in to the embassy for processing. :crying: They also gave her a paper to send in with it and the 2Go forms and told her it was a free shipping service.

Once she gets the required doc, what time frame would we be looking at? Does the processing take place rather quickly? The CO did tell her she was approved upon arrival of the additional doc.

  8. I think it is just the way the society is there. My fiancee found out that should you have tatooes or an anullment, you also have to go thru the evaluation.

When they looked at my fiancee's anullment and realized she had been away from the ex over 11 years, and also worked overseas in Kuwait for 7 years, they figured she was sound enough to not go thru the exam and gave her a pass.

Hope it all works out, I really think it is nothing to worry about at this point..

  9. When I checked into this a while back, I thought it said the minimum balance was like $200 or something like 5-10k Pesos...I might have read it wrong or looked at the wrong type of account.

    Thanks for the link!

Our initial account was opened with 100 pesos. After i returned to USA i have been sending small amounts of 200-600 at a time. Sometimes as high as 125,000p, sometimes as low as 100p.

  10. ... im not from BDO ....

... just sharing my experience ....

... a BDO dollar account referred to something like "balikbayan account", will just require depositors for a minimum maintaining balance of ONE DOLLAR.... you just have to have at least one transaction a year (or maybe 2!!! not so sure tho ) to make it active.....

... this may help somebody out there.....

This is very true. My fiancee and I have a joint savings at BDO and i send from xoom all the time to that account. It has gotten as low as 100 pesos with no charges to her. She just gets it with the ATM when she uses it, no problem.

  11. Topic has been moved from the K-1 forum as it is not about the K-1 process and the topic is better suited for discussion in the Off Topic forum.

I will also add a caution that similar topics started before, most often in the Regional Forums, have ended up with unnecessary and inappropriate comments leading to posts being removed and threads being closed. So please be advised to keep your comments courteous and friendly. It is also not necessary to put down someone else's choice or any particular nationality or ethnicity in order to support your own choice. It is good to remember that threads of this nature just seem to garner a fair bit of 'competition' between VJ members.

    agreed!

  12. My fiancee is hot because of her pure heart, none such have I ever known before. This is hotness to me far beyond the beauty of the body.

"The wife of nobel character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value" Proverbs 31:10,11

  13. Why the heck they replied me that?

Maybe they just assumed you were applying for a non immigrant visa for visiting or something and did not know it was for a K1, though the case number was cited, they probably did not look it up and just answered based on the question only about using ds-156.

Several here have just been successful with their interviews, I would follow their advise.

  14. My fiancee and I will live and work in the US for the next 5-10 years. I already have property in her name I bought in her home town in General Santos, Mindanao. I also have some farm leases that bring in money every month for her now. We plan on building a boarding house, and maybe internet cafe, let it be ran by her family and build an income stream from it. We have plans to buy land and build a home in Davao, which is considered the safest city in the PI. Hopefully when I get ready to leave my job for good, we can have a home we can travel to for months at a time without worry about where our living expenses will come from. She is educated with a degree and has already gotten job offers there, but turned them down to come be my wife. These are our tentative plans and so far things seem to be headed that way. I am also working on a way to create an income here besides my job that can continue while we are in PI.

  15. Maybe the interview can be rescheduled til after his 18th birthday. Being 18, he may not need fathers permission, but I am unaware of the age of consent in this type of case. The medical is good for 6 months and the payment made at BPI is good for a year. I know of someone that had rescheduled nearly nine months away with a letter to the USEM, but needed to do medical again.
