we needed an original printout of the court from a case i had a misdameanor. I asked him 3 times and he assured that a download from the website was enough. Guess not, it delayed my naturalization for 1 month because he didn't do proper diligence. Interview went well, but had to send that paper again to USCIS

ok i understand. may i ask. are you in new jersey?

  2. thanks

www.aila.org Immigration is federal, so you can hire any attorney anywhere in the USA. I used a local one for my N-400 and he ###### up a little and delayed my application.  PM if you need one

Thank you Alabamak1. i am going to pm you. what do you mean he ###### up a little? Did he have enough experience in the field? good reviews?

  3. People are too much in this forum. Changing their names , messaging you and others to get info. going back and forth discussing and gossiping about other members to other members when the only focus should be VAWA and approvals. If you need to ask me anything DO NOT INBOX AT ALLLL. I am transparent and as a result correspond with me here. As a matter of fact I am hoping admin sees this and DELETES my account. I have been t dying to delete this account and have been unsuccessful

Last but not least. AN APPROVED VAWA IS NOT A GREEN CARD nor isn it a guarantee of one

    Anajnic,

How are you doing my sister? i hope everything is going according to Gods plan.

i have read with interest how questions are being asked over and over again when they have been answered clearly and in details by sandranj. lol people changing names and pretending to be he shes, lol this has become a vawa soap opera indeed..most of the information is here, if people only took the time to read through...smh

  4. Rachel , can you be a little more specific? What were the questions?!

Thank you ! God bless you!

    Hi ben b,

sorry it took long to answer. they asked me questions:

when did we meet? when did we decide to get married? asked about the wedding. just regular basics about my marriage. they are pretty straight forward, they wouldnt ask you any trick questions to get you to speak about the abuse, and if they do, simply and respectfully tell them you cannot speak about the abuse..

    hope i helped..

    good luck..

  5. Happy for Rachelm ! Congrats !! Now enjoy yr life to the fullest !!! dancin5hr.gif

I saw you'were approved in 3 months. What was the reason to get green after 4 years?

Why that was happened and what you did for it?

Sorry if I missed any of yr post where you explained, but just wondering...

    Back&Brighter,

Thank you. I do intend to live my life to the fullest. I deserve it.

no it didnt take 3 months, it took a whole year!! you looked at the months.. from oct 2009 to dec 2010

    All the best..

  6. Rachel , congratulation !!! I hope your post will be my post soon! My 485 was transfered two mounts ago and I'm waiting for interview ! But seems like never ends.... How long did you wait from the time they transfered i 485 and interview date?

    Hi Ben b,

Thank you. God is surely great and soon you too, shall post good news. I dont want to dampen your spirits because every case is different. My case took a year after it was transferred to a local office, before i got an interview.

Congrats rachelm. I pray I soon testify like this. Congrats

    bestgirlever,

It will happen for you and you will be here to share the good news and testify. Thank you. keep soldering on..

  7. My Dears,

To all who shared my struggles through my journey from the beginning to the end...to all those who calmed my nerves and prayed for me through my trials and tribulations. to all those who lent a hand and offered a shoulder when i coudlnt take it anymore...to all those who stood by me...My God will continue to bless you and those around you.

I finally got my Green Card!!!

Thank you everyone who encouraged me to never give up I wont mention names, but these saints know who they are smile.png. I have my own little family here.

To every one else who is still in the journey.. I have this to say.

I have cried endless tears, i have fought so many legal battles.. with tooth and nail. i spent endless nights wondering if this nightmare will ever end. My mother, my soul and comfort who kept my head up, passed away and i couldnt be there. I have seen the worst days through this journey, but i held on to my faith, and i hit my knees every night with prayer. thats the only weapon i needed and last week an email i received from USCIS marked the end of my journey. I thank God for everything. I am here today because he was there for me.

never give up, never give in, always look up and keep pushing.

God bless you all and lets continue encouraging each other.

  10. Rachelm as Anajnic rightfully said God is in control he wont bring you thus far to turn his back on you now. The devil is indeed a liar dont let him steal your joy. Have faith as a grain of mustard seed and he will see you through.

    Faith keeper,

It has indeed been a struggle, you have no idea. My mum passed away in 2011 and you can imagine the pain and anguish I have been living in, not to mention the fact of the mental exhaustation I suffered in the hands of a man I trusted!!

I have come this far and victory indeed shall be mine.

I thank you for the encouragement and kind words..

    Hello everyone,

A little while ago, I posted that I have an upcoming interview, it's in 6 days. While am so grateful to God and excited, after waiting since 2009, am now walking on pins and needles.

I have all my documents ready except for proving Bonafide marriage.

Well I can prove it practically, since we have been married since 2005 and we have a child together and We are still married but I ran away in 2010 after I could not take the abuse any longer. He withdrew his support that led to my denies Gf application.

We lived in his parents house and he has no income, his mother "babies" him and he hasn't worked a day in his life since he brought me and my children here. Anyway, the point of all this is we have no joint documentation of anything besides our child, which I recently found out is not proof enough of Bonafide marriage and so am here in a dilemma and am really scared, because I have learnt they will deny you if you can't proof Bonafide marriage.

When I left he had hidden all documentation from me and I had to call my country to get dupilcates of our marriage certificates and my children's certificates as well.

What do I do? What else can I show that I didn't just give this man 9 years of my life and only came to America after we were already married for 3 years and we had already had out baby before I even stepped into American soil.

I will appreciate all ideas that you guys might provide me with.

    PS Sandra,

I sent you an email since we spoke last and am also awaiting your response.

Thank you everyone and God bless and God speed each and everyone's journey.

PS: Am sorry guys, I might have posted in a reply section. Am using my phone and am still trying to navigate how to use the forum on my phone.

  13. Hello Everyone,

I have an update about my case and a few questions...

Yesterday i received an email from my lawyer, alerting me about my upcoming I485 Interview....(pose) I SCREAMED... well in happiness.

As you can see from my timeline, i have been waiting since 2010, and it has been a long and tasking journey....really its just by the grace of God that we have this patience.

I called 2 weeks ago to USCIS to ask about my case and i guess by good luck i spoke to a really nice lady who asked me my case number, and for the first time, since ive been calling USCIS she didnt tell me the usual line... (we cant give you any details because vawa cases are sensitive) i was surprised, but happy that she looked into it. She told me my case has been out of the processing times by over 100 days. no wonder i dont hear anything. anyway, she told me she put an expediting notice to have my case looked into. Also,a month ago i had contacted the Ombudsman office for help. no updates were made of my case status. just yesterday i received a notification from the Ombudsman office stating that they have sent an inquiry into my case to USCIS. A lady from the office had called me 2 weeks ago to get my details.

I guess my question is since i already have an appointment, does the Ombudsman contacting USCIS going to affect anything? The i485 also requires me to fill a form I 693. My question is i had filled out this form in my previous I485 when i was still living with my abusive spouse and after i ran away from him, he revoked his sponsorship., obviously resulting in my case getting denied and hence this new process.

It might seem like i silly question, but i just need to be sure ive covered everything needed for the Interview which is coming up in 2 weeks. Please, Sandranj, and anyone else who knows this process better, i need all the advice i can get and any tips on the interview. I am all pins and needles, and a nervous wreck!!

Thank you all, and please wish me luck, i need this for my childrens sake.

I wish everyone all the best and all the luck in this journey...

    Rachel..

  14. Hi Anajnic,

I am sorry if ill be busting your bubble by this, but I received the same notification in 2011 about my case. It's only until April 2013 that they sent a letter for a form to be filled out, after I sent back the letter, I haven't heard anything since. It's frustrating. Maybe cases are different, but I just thought I would share this.I have since written to my congressman who in turn got the same info you get when you call about your case, and I have also written to the ombudsman after Sandranj advising me. Now am just playing the waiting game... Let me know how it goes on your side.. All the best and congrats!!

  15. CASE TRANSFERRED YAWL!!!!!!!!! SEE BELOW>>>THANKYOU JESUS. I have stopped worrying for I know who controls my tomorrows

On July 29, 2013, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283

  16. Thank you Anajnic

I m really trying , I don't think I have ever fight this hard to get thru a hard time. I m bleeding my last drops. You all know how hard this is because you guys went thru the same. Thats why i come to this forum because its the only place that i can find people that understant what i m going thru.

thanks to you all for the encouragment. I m hoping that I can get something by the end of this week. God Please help me.

I am really and truly sorry for what your going through. please like everyone says, hang in there and pull yourself together. this journey takes a loooong time and can be quite frustrating at times, but everything eventually comes to an end and you will eventually get your papers and leave that abusive relationship. try to focus on positive things with your child and, it might not be easy but try to block the negative issues mentally. i wish you the very best of luck and you have here the VJ family to give you moral support...Am sending prayers your way, it shall be well.
