  1. well from my earlier post you all know about my the request for phone records under section 221g, i have been able to gather as much phone records that i can get my hands on and requested an official call records from my phone company.... my question is should my husband just send Lagos embassy an email with the date he wants, as stated on the letter (221g)given to him, or just ask them to give him an interview date? how does this work? also do u know how long it takes them to respond back?

  2. printing out only the calls will not sufficient, it might be different in your case..some consulate are less tougher than others...... i printed out calls from t mobile online but my husband was given 221g, requesting for the official call records, so if they can't get you the calls, then you will need a statement from them stating that fact. it might be a long shot but it's better than trying to explain it per mouth, you will still have your evidence to show.

  3. thanks guys ...i am still trying to put things together i will let u know as soon as i get something from t mobile.......and email them, hopefully put all together and get the evidence they want to bring my husband here.........thank you so much for all your support..

  4. my husband is so devastated and wanted to make it for the Christmas but he was given a 221g about phone records. he told me they drilled him with questions for 1hr and 30mins, so guys be ready, i sent him 2010 phone records and rebtel calling card records but they want the one for 2007,2008.. calling card records, he had phone record from his Nigeria cellular, yahoo chat and video call from 2008 and 2009, he had emails since 2004 . i thought we were prepared but they still wanted phone calls from 2007,2008. they said the phone records printed online from t mobile website is not official and i do not have any calling card record from 2007,2008 since i was only using different calling cards. before the interview i went to t mobile office requesting a print out with their letter head and they said they can't give me one.....now i have no idea on how to get the records i have called my lawyer and hopefully will get something from her but right now i am so devastated and very confuse.....any highlight will help me please.......

  5. hello VJ

i have friend who's husband was deported from England due to overstay, he was given a visiting visa and did not go back after it got expired, he stayed and was caught and then deported back to Africa. His wife is a USC and she wants to file for him, my question is will this affect the application? should she write that he had stayed in England? is there some papers she will need to file with the application?, and if he gets approved on the interview should he mentioned it to them? her lawyer said that he should not say anything unless it is brought up by the consulate, will that be reasonable? she is torn apart and does not know what to do...... sorry guys it did not let me post as a new topic

  6. we are preparing for our interview coming up next month for 1R1, i have printed out lots of copies of the phone records from the phone call company online like pennytalk or rebtel?, my question is, do i still have to print record from my phone company e.g t-mobile or sprint, or just call from the phone card company is enough? and if yes how far should i go? (months or years)? thanks

  7. Maybe call the national number and ask them (1-800-772-1213) or go back to the office and ask for a supervisor.

ok i call the supervisor at the national number and after explaining to her she said it does not make sense and that they should be able to change my last name. i went back to the SS office and insisted on speaking with the manager, to cut it short, i finally got my last name changed.... thanks Aya820 and ajigglin for your help.....thanks everyone for ur help!!!

  8. someone will have to go and talk to them, you will have to pay a fee and then get a true certified copy... when i lost mine i was glad i still had a copy of the reciept, the reciept had the file no on it and so it was easy to locate it. let your husband or you can go to the registry and get another copy as long as you have all your information you will be fine.

  9. thank you all so much for your input, well i went to Social security office to get a name change but i was told i have a out of the country marriage license and will not accept that until i legally change my name in court. so yesterday i went to court and was told that they will need me to get a marriage license in U.S, well inother to do that my husband will have to be here. Also tried DSP and was told that my SSC needs to be change first before my driver's license can change.... well that is my story so far... i guess i will not be able to change my name afterall...... so why is out of the country marriage license not considered a marriage license in the United States?

  10. ok so i am a little bit confused here, i have seen in some peoples timeline stating that they get interview date the next month as soon as NVC completes your case and i was told by my lawyer that NVC Schedules one's interview? am i right? maybe i am reading people's timline wrong but so far a lot of them get thier interview the next month as soon as the case is completed PER NVC? mostly the CR1/IR1... am i wrong?
