  1. Congratulations!

    Thank you Scotinmass

    Congrats to you!

    Thank you KASH2011

    Just checked, and finally!

On December 7, 2015, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC*005625458 (fake number). We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

    Congratulations!!!!

  2. As of today (12.08.15), I am officially an American citizen. At the Oath Ceremony, there were 104 people including myself that have been naturalized; 35 countries were represented. The check-in process was a tad-bit tedious; I guess because I was anxious. I was called up to the podium by the Immigration Supervisor to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. I was flabbergasted and nervous at the same time; I would say that moment was the highlight of the ceremony for me.

I would like to take this time out to wish my fellow VJers all the best on this naturalization journey and congratulations to the ones who have completed this journey. My journey has ended on a fantastic note. I will be applying for my passport this week because I have a trip next month.

    Kind Regards,

    Alex W

  3. From this moment on, I am officially a US CITIZEN!

The long immigration journey might be over but for sure it starts another series of life full of challenging endeavors and opportunities which we will encounter in our everyday living as a citizen of this country. I am so grateful that I've been a part of this family. I would like to thank each and everyone of you who in one way or another helped a lot in making this journey worthwhile.

Congratulations to all of those who have had successfully completed the journey as well, and best of luck to all that are still waiting!

Congratulations Cutiepie28. Your immigration journey has ended on a fantastic note.

    Great News!...Congrats!

    Thank you "Eaton Inside"

  4. I had my interview today and was approved :)

I arrived about 30 minutes early and didn't get called back until 10 minutes after my appointment time. The officer was polite but very serious and that didn't help my nerves any. He swore me in, took my GC, driver's license and social security card. He then made me read a sentence "Which state has the most people?" and then he asked me to write down "California has the most people" I wish I could remember the civic questions but I was such a ball of nerves that I vaguely remembered some of them. He then went through my complete application and had me sign a few forms and then told me I was approved:)

The officer told me I should get my Oath letter in about 30 days but I previously heard an officer tell another applicant out in the waiting room that there is an Oath on December 11th and he said that most people approved today should make it for that ceremony. Fingers crossed! I really hope to be able to be done with this whole process by the end of the year.

Good luck to everyone still waiting:) It's so so hard to be patient when you've been patient for so long

    Congratulations :)

  5. Shockingly and surprisingly, I just a text message about an update to my case. After my interview this past Friday, I was not expecting an update so quickly since the IO said 3 weeks before I could hear something back about my case. Be not dismay, God is always on time. After checking the update online this is the great news I have seen:

    Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed

  7. Don't be discouraged. You will get your decision in a week or so. Who knows, the website might change in the afternoon or Monday. It could be worse like my situation. My interview was scheduled on November 13th and it was cancelled the day before and I was told to wait for a new notice. Still waiting. I have an international trip coming up in Dec and I was hoping to have completed this by then but oh well...here I am. So trust me, you are in a better position so you will be okay.

    Mananto,

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. I will remain optimistic that everything will work out for you and I. I too have an international trip in January.

  8. I did my interview this morning and I believe it went well. I was scheduled for 8am; I arrived at the office at 7:50 since I lived 7 minutes from the USCIS office. I went through the normal security screening and I was instructed to go upstairs. I gave the receptionist my interview notice, she instructed me to have a seat in the lobby and wait for my name to be called. Exactly at 8:30am my name was called, the IO was very polite and friendly. I was sworn in; she then asked for my Texas DL and GC. I told her that I do not have my TX DL since I just moved here in April, but I have my DL from the previous State I was living in. She accepted it, then proceeded to go over the application.

Afterwards, she began with the reading and writing portion of the testing. I read "Who lives in the White House?" and then I write "The President lives in the White House." I was asked six questions:

    1. Who is the Governor of your State?
    2. What movement tried to end racial discrimination?
    3. Where is the Statue of Liberty?
    4. Name two national U.S. holidays
    5. Who was the first President?
    6. What is one promise you make when you become a United States citizen?

She said congratulations, you passed. However, I was disheartened because I was not approved on the spot. I asked her why, she said that they going to do another background check just to make sure that everything is good. She said that they do not approved on the spot anymore, but my gut was telling otherwise; I even asked about the same day oath ceremony and she gave the same response. I am not sure if that is her way of doing things or Field Office way of doing things. She said that I should hear something back within 3 weeks  So, just when I thought that my journey was going to be over soon, it does not look that way at all even though I am staying optimistic. Knowing the person that I am, I began to review in my head what could've caused the approval on the spot and I believe it is the DL (Driver's License) not being changed to the State that I now reside in.

I want to wish everyone the BEST.

  9. Today was my oath ceremony and I am now a US Citizen!

Wonderful to be completed with our friends at the USCIS! What a Journey Indeed

I was also able to apply for my passport across from the Federal Court House.

They only scanned the Naturalization Certificate (US Post office requires mailing it in)so I am able to keep, and they will process it within a week and i was informed that it should be in my hands via priority mail in one more week!

Thanks everyone again, and if some one could color me red, I would appreciate it!

    Zambo,

Major congratulations to you. Your journey has ended on a fantastic note :joy:

  10. Well, I was looking forward to my interview tomorrow but I just received a call from an immigration officer at the field office who said that NBC has not shipped my file back and that there will be no interview. They said I will receive a new interview letter in about 30 days. Bummer!

    Mananto,

My sincerest apologies, but did you verify if the call was legit and not some prank call? I pray that everything will work for you expeditiously. Since you and I are from the Dallas Field Office, I am nervous as to what will happen to my interview next week Friday.

  11. Approved on the spot! Same day oath wasn't possible due to a large number of previous rescheduled appointments to today! Notice will be mailed soon! In and out in about 15 minutes or so! More of a "meet and greet"!

    Kash,

    Congratulations are in order :joy:
