Yeah that was the best breakfast ever even though it was a small bakery near the embassy.
And you don't have to inform the Embassy that your fiance is also coming. Our interview appointment had the date but no time (time was when the embassy opened). I'd suggest arriving before that time since the line forms outside before the Embassy opens.

Thanks so much Yagisama for all the great information! Wow! I didn't know interviews are that short! My fiance is planning on coming to jpn for the interview, I'll have to let him know about this
If your fiance is coming for the interview, then it would make things even easier!
I may have mentioned this in the old post but we went to the Embassy an hour before they opened and there was already someone waiting in the line. So we were second plane in the line. When we went in, they gave us a packet to put all our paperwork into in a specific order. Then we waited for them to call us. They called my wife first and after ten minutes, they called me. The interviewer asked me a few questions (mostly related to work) and then said that we were approved.
Then we went to a nearby place for breakfast. It was very easy and quick. Most of the time was just waiting to be called.

I totally understand what you mean by overdoing the evidence of the relationship...
We're having a bit of a challenge on what we should and should not include. Like our texting that exceeds over 400 pages(which we def will not include the whole things), restaurants receipts, bunch of pics etc. ect.ect.ect.ect....... I feel like my heads gonna explode!
But we're gonna try and keep it simple, just our passport stamps/boarding passes/pics/couple of our texts.....
Hi scubagirl! Here is a copy and paste of a recent post I made with some links for preparation for the Tokyo embassy in case there is anything helpful there. Anyhow the interview was very quick and they even asked me to join and asked some very basic questions. It lasted only ~15 minutes.

I started filing all the paperwork right after we got the NOA2. I probably jumped the gun but it ended up working for us. I made the appointment myself (from the US) and I traveled to Tokyo and we did the interview together.

Looks like we're in the exact same boat with HEIDIDL on dates. Not looking forward to the 2.5 hour drive to biometrics next week, but so happy to be getting this show on the road!

Yes I concur. The only names relevant are legal names.
As neko said, you can provide supporting documents that show that the name in the emails is his stage name.
But in my opinion, email, chat logs, etc are not very significant proof of relationship and I would go as far as consider taking them out of the application and not worry about the stage name at all.
I definitely overdid the evidence of a relationship when applying for the K-1 visa. I even included a receipt for a coke in narita airport but didn't include any emails (I did include Birthday, Christmas, etc cards). And a lot of the extra stuff I had included really slowed us down in the Tokyo Embassy. We were second in line when they opened but it took hours for them to get to us probably since they had to go through all the useless stuff I had included.
Anyhow your call whether you want to include the stage name poster, emails, etc, but there's no need to write the name in the forms.

Great to hear that you are enjoying San Diego. But don't catch all the fish!
I never thought I would be staying in Oklahoma City! I grew up in Southern California and lived there most my life. In fact it's only recently that I stayed in other states for a long time.
That ad pretty much describes Oklahoma. Add a love for guns and that's pretty much it.
Visiting Alabama sounds very exciting! We are thinking about moving to Hawaii when we get older to be half way between Tokyo and LA. We can dream right?

I'm going to send a copy of my passport too to show that her new passport has the same last name as mine and also to show that I visited Tokyo 16 times in the last 6 years. 16 trips in 6 years has got to show some sort of dedication right?

I can say from my experience that me being present in the Tokyo embassy made things pretty straightforward.
The interview was very short and I was called and answered questions. In fact I think I talked more than my (now) wife.
Most of the inquiries were regarding financial support, my work, etc.
On the matter of her past two denials, I can't really say. And to be honest, I don't know why one would be denied for merely applying two times within a month. If there is an official reason for the denial, it might make preparation easier.

October is right around the corner and no doubt us October filers have either already started putting our packets together or will be doing so shortly.
I've started gathering some of the relevant evidence and printed some for our application (bank records, signed leases, etc) and will continue working on it before next week.

I contemplated using ACCO fasteners for my 129-F and then again for AOS, but I never did so.
Now that I'm starting to put together our ROC package and I'm tempted to actually get my hands on these ACCO fasteners.
However, one issue was that the General Tips page blow encouraged the two hole punching and using the ACCO fasteners, yet the NBC page dissuaded their use.

Plus the fasteners come in different lengths so one worry I had was to punch holes that are incompatible with what USCIS uses. However, when I search here I see that many applicants used the fasteners with no issue.
So I wanted to check what size applicants here used. I came to the conclusion that the 2 3/4-Inch variant is what would be needed.

Thanks for the help . I have checked those links. So it is my understanding that we wait for the embassy to contact us first. Although we already have a head start on docs. The japan police report cannot be translated if it cannot be opened, (sealed) correct? What about not having immunization records ? Are they required or just suggested? Also, how to know where to go for japan police report. Can she go to any of the "main" offices? Also, does anyone have any tips for getting the police report from the Phils? So many things from Manila seem to be complicated or difficult. She will have to get japan and Phil's reports.

Yes, you should wait until the embassy sends the packet. Although like I mentioned I went ahead
and made the interview before the packet was delivered but there might be some risk with that approach.
And yes the police report is sealed and doesn't need translation. I believe the immunization records are required. My wife got the police report so I don't really know the details on that.
