btw, another good hotel..a better and classy one is 'deccan plaza' though its a lil far. They give free drop to consulate too. but since u both r going..its worth staying there. you could visit marina beach too if u like..some 20-30min away. and dont forget your sun glasses.. chennai is way TOOO hot and HUMID

that was it abt family. then he asked abt my education, professional background, company etc. Also, they do ask abt your foreign trips and passport stamps.

and they ask who filled out the form too, btw.. if someone else, they will make u write their name and address on the form..(there is a field there..remember?)

and medical will take two days(dont count sundays)..first day for all the tests and second day 3.30pm for the collection of test reports. I stayed at same place - seashell for both medical and interview (many people do both at one trip). Nice of you to travel with her..cos though interview will be simple, we all get so worked up..and good to have a support..

btw, they dont need even district PCC. they only asked me for album and he did go thru some 50+ pics patiently and that was a...

and No, Since I am working and did not get leave from office, I did not stay back and collect the visa next day. If you can do stay back for another day and do it, that will be great. The collection time is 4-5pm. Feel free to ask if you have any other queries..

i travelled by 8am chennai express train from bglr. reached hotel by 3pm. Next day after breakfast, I walked to consulate by 8.15. Reached by 8.25 and got in by 8.40 or so.. same day I returned by evening 5.30 shatabdi express.

i stayed in 'seashell residency' which was very decent and good for the price of 1500. the catch is that they have some room that has some bad stench. They give me such a room first and i fought with them and got it changed. Its walkable to the consulate and to the apollo heart center from there. I did medicals one week earlier just bcs i wanted to get rid of that tension you can ask for a lady doc at apollo..and i strongly suggest you do that.

typically whatever cc is done upto the 10th of the month gets scheduled for the next month.

Yours could be in the first week of Nov too. So not much of difference..but yea, two weeks perhaps.
