  1. hi there!

maybe somebody has experience in that?

We, as a little league team, would like to support our friend team from Russia in obtaining US visas for visiting us in USA.

Team consists of 17 kids (9-11 yo - they do not need interview, right?) and 4 adults.

The invitation text is not really clear.

Russian kids will be hosted by american families over here but we do not know YET what exact addresses are.

Visas they gonna obtain will be B1/B2, right? Not that special exchange one - so far it works only with student who will study here. Our kids will just play the ball (= pure leisure).

What should be write in invitation?

  2. had InfoPass interview for 551 - they took my EAD and DESTROYED IT saying I dont need it any more so far my GC has been issued already (w/ mistake!!!).

So now i have no photo ID with my married name - agggr...

and today I got invitation for biometrics again - hmmm... I cant do it on the date they want - so gonna try walk-in this week or rearrange it for later date...

So weird - they made a mistake and it looks like replacing that 'error'-style GC just restarted the whole process... awesome!!

  3. Hi there!

Finally, after 4 months of counting days and submiting papers - Green Card arrive in my mail box.

Everything is awesome besides the fact - dates are wrong!!!!!

According to GC - I m resident since 03/08/10 and card expires on 03/08/12

    BUT:

I entered US in Oct 2010 with K1 visa and AOS was filed in November 2010, interview happened in March 2011 (!!!!)

So 'residence since' date should be 03/08/2011 and expires in 2013

    What should I do?

Change it to real dates or apply save a year till naturalization? )))

  4. That's exactly what our status says...so now we wait...the bonus is we got an email that his EAD card was sent today...I consider that a partial win :) Hang in there

    WOW!! Congrats!! )))

    That's so cool! )

So you had RFE for AOS and got EAD?!

The notice I got said that EAD will be issued in 90 days AFTER evidence submitted - I lost my hope to get EAD in the beginning of Feb as my VJ timeline says.

    weird

    but happy for you

  5. Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.........just got email and text message notification of an RFE for our AOS petition :( (someone must be working late?!)

Don't know what it's for yet, will just have to wait and see. Major bummer for a Friday night, but hopefully it's something we can easily fix. I'm really hoping it's not my vaccinations, don't want to pay out the money to see a civil surgeon...

    awww...

Don't stress out! Everything will be fine!

I've just got message from USCIS with this 'case is now updated' - definitely somebody is working late there...

So it took them a week to get back to the case after receiving reply on RFE.

    tiiiiiiiiiiime

  6. Such a luck!

Just got notification from USCIS that reply on RFE was received on Jan 11 and:

"We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case will be done"

  7. We mailed our RFE on 12/29 (priority mail) and the website was updated 1/5 to say being processed. Nothing since, but I figure it will take at least a few more weeks.

    Good luck!

    Jackie

    That's pretty fast!

They sent RFE on 12/29 (so I got it 01/02) and we replied on last week - still nothing changed on uscis.gov

But USPS notified that package was delivered on 1/7...

It's so stupid - I know that there is nothing I can change or impact but still it is sooo interesting what's up ))

  8. Hey Everyone!

I am on the same boat -> December filers, although I applied on the last business day of 2010.

I am a bit worried caused last night I received the I-797 forms but all 4 envelopes were ripped and opened. This morning I went to the local immigration office, in Fort Myers, FL, but they could not do much. Next step: USPS complain. Has this happened to anyone? Should I worry? I am concerned someone at the post office opened my immigration letters... but why? Wonder if they stole my info?

    Timeline:

    07/26/2002 - moved to USA

    04/17/2010 - got married

    12/30/2010 (day 1) - I130 + I485 + all other forms mailed

01/03/2011 (day 4) - FEDEX tracking - package received in Chicago Lockbox

    01/07/2011 (day 8) - Cashed checks

01/07/2011 (day 8) - Txt msgs and emails received

01/11/2011 (day 12)- NOA1 arrived on my mail box OPENED??

mine - also! Envelop was half-opened

  9. I checked, nothing yet =(

This waiting is a killer, especially when you can't work or even look for work.

To say - I do understand you - is to say nothing...

    I was so used to work but since October (moving to USA month) - N O T H I N G!

Only job opportunities research and blah...

This was kind of interesting - December job trend research by Simply Hired (here)

And so far - we have no predictions, right? When EAD might be issued... March/April?

  10. Hi

Finally I got the idea to get state ID to stop carrying my passport with me all the time (for drinks or buying cigarettes).

AOS package was filed in Dec'10, adjusting status from K-1 visa.

And what I found on DMV web site was that besides SSN I also need to provide them with the evidence of legal presence in US.

In California, they say, the following might be used as legal presence evidence:

    * Permanent Resident Card - dont have it

    * Temporary Resident Identification Card - what is that?!

    * Valid foreign passport with a valid Record of Arrival/Departure (form I-94) - I have passport but is I-94 valid after the date of the stamp? Mine says Jan 02 2011

    * "Processed for I-551" stamped in a valid foreign passport - nope

    * Employment Authorization Card - dont have it yet

    * Notice of Action (I-797 Approved Petition) – must indicate approved extension of stay or change in status that grants temporary or permanent residency, or indicates that an original, duplicate or renewal Resident Alien card is forthcoming. - hmmm, does anybody know about this NOA? When they send it? After the Interview?

As all I have in the moment is my passport with I-94, NOA1 for AOS and NOA for Biometrics appointment.

Hm, do you think it is worth trying to get inside DMV with that and try to apply state id/driving licence?
