  1. I must have been drunk when I wrote the post above, whoops  I don't actually drink by the way, so I can't really blame alcohol, just poor typing skills

Whooops! I must have missed that! :P

For the interview I'm pretty much have a similar list like the one you have. And for the photos, I'm bringing my wife's scrap books to the interview. She started working on her scrap books since 2004 when we first met. So there is gonna be a bunch for the IO to see :) Both of us will also practice/remember important information like how, where, who, when, etc type of things happen. 19th is just around the corner for you! Nervous? hehehe

  2. Oh wow I see you have your AP, that's great news, are you planning on heading off anywhere?

I'm the one wanting my EAP, not necessarily because I am going to work, but because it allows me the option and eventually when my son is in preschool I can work

On another note we got my SD birthday certificate through today, which is one less thing to worry about when we go for our interview on July 19th, it's funny though the website said it would take 4 to 8 weeks to get it, yet we got it in exactly a week from when we sent the request, I am one happy camper :)

Nope, not going anywhere soon. I would prefer to receive my EAD card instead of AP. Anyways, I was told by my company to remain at home until the EAD card arrives :( I've already missing out 1 week pay and counting... I really wonder when does USCIS actually mail out the card - 2nd production and still nothing in the mail as of today! Btw, don't refer too much on USCIS website for updates - I found it unreliable most of the time. Good luck on your interview on the 19th! Mine is exactly 1 week from yours :)

  3. Haha, yes...Sifa has enjoyed that aspect of being home as well :)

Thats what I'm doing too... watching the world cup. I wonder what's taking my EAD card so long to arrive even after it was expedited? Sigh... I've cleaned the house, work on the garden, groom my dog, laundry, cooking, and etc. I even signed up for a free 7-day 24-Hr Fitness! Sorry for my ranting, can't help it. :P

  4. Hi Iamtan

I was looking at your timeline and was interested to know something please, I see you got a INFOPASS appointment (Expedite EAD), can you tell me how you did this and why , was it to get the EAD faster after RFE, as I have received a RFE , my kids are going to re-do medicals as it looks like they have been lost. And this is now going to make things take longer , we have our first Biometrics appt this week as well , but can I get a expedite on EAD after next Biometrics appt ? Thanks for help !!

Congrats on all the interviews... hopefully that means we are all within/about a month of good news!!! Here's crossing my fingers that we see movement on the EAD soon.

Wiz: I wondered the same about lamtan until I looked at the timeline closer. The original visa was an H1-B, which is a work visa. According to the history, the work visa was set to expire on June 17, 2010, so my guess is that the INFOPASS appointment was to expedite the EAD so that the work that lamtan already has could continue uninterrupted after the expiration of the H1-B. I know of someone who was in a similar situation, and USCIS expedited the EAD for them but it's not a common occurrence. If I am incorrect, I hope lamtan will correct me.

    Hi jmd77 and WizandDorothy

Jmd77 explanation was spot on. During my infopass appointment I had to convince the IO why I'm qualified to expedite my EAD card. She was very kind enough to contact National Benefits Center and my EAD was approved immediately and was told it should arrive within 10 business days. At the moment, I'm temporarily "terminated" from my work until I get the actual card in hand. I checked the mailbox today and instead of getting the card I got my AP approved/issued. I hope I can get the card by tomorrow because its so bored staying home... well... at least i get to watch the World Cup! :)

By the way, if anyone here lives in Los Angeles and wants to schedule infopass, pick the Santa Ana Field Office and choose the earliest AM time slot (mine was 7:15am and the place was empty)

  6. Is the ASC Center located at El Monte, CA? The IO was black too.

    Hi,

We had our biometrics on Tuesday, the appointment was for 2 PM but we went in at 8:30 AM filled out some paperwork which was reviewed. We didn't have any documents except her social security card so they sent us to talk to the office UCSIS officer. His name was Mr. Williams and he talked to us for about an hour or should I say he talked to my wife.....we are a mixed couple she's white (pretty of course), and me black and the officer was black too and divorced (maybe he was interested?). He had alot of advice to giver to her which was good advice and she listen...sometimes. I just wanted to get through the system and get everything done. She told him about one of her girlfriends that she could maybe fix him up with. She eventually got his telephone number and she wants to call and get in touch with him. I suggested against this not because of what might happen to her file but for him. I'm also a goverment worker and the conversation was too personal and he probably shouldn't have given her his personal number. I told her that it wouldn't look good for him and it could get him into trouble. After he finished talking to her we finished fairly quickly. What do you think? Should I let her call him and touch base of just leave it alone. Her only desire is to let him know how nice it was to meet him and see if he is interested in meeting her girlfriend. There you have it, I bet there aren't other experences like that one.

  7. More weirdness...case was transferred to CSC today but we still haven't gotten biometrics letter. Anyone know if this is normal? Should I NOW be worried?? Help.

Have you call USCIS to inquire about the biometrics letter? If they can't help, maybe you need to schedule an INFOPASS appointment with USCIS local field office and speak with a CIS officer. Another option is to contact your local post office to see if there is any undelivered mail for your home residence.

Typically the biometrics appointment letter arrives within 1 week upon receipt of your first NOA. No worries.I'm sure its on its way soon!
