  • Our Story
I am married to an Englishman. He is an upstanding British citizen, an art history professor and published author. We met 3 years ago and have been married for 2. We own a house and have been following the rules. Since he did not have proper authority to work or live over here in the U.S we would send him back to the U.K every 90 days (since that is the law of the visitors visa) until his proper paperwork came through.

We filed his paperwork 5 months ago and have been awaiting approval for his permanent residence status. On December 31st we came back from the U.K (visiting family for the holidays). He was turned away at the border (MSP airport). The department of homeland security stated they were no longer going to let him be here while waiting for his paperwork to get approved. He has now been living in his old bedroom of his parents house ever since.

I personally am pretty bitter about this. We followed every letter of the law and I feel that we are being punished for it. I know there is a lot of talk about families being torn apart because they are not allowed to be here illegally. MY family has been torn apart because we WERE doing things legally.
