  1. Hi there,

I know I probably still have another 2 months before I receive my NOA2 but next week Ill be visiting my finacee. Im just wondering if there is anything he can prepare and give me to bring back to Canada, so that when I get the NOA2 I can send it off right away and not have to wait for his documents to get sent to me from thE US Would having stuff dated in July be too early if I only get the NOA2 in August sometime?

  2. I'd say the entire process is realistically around 8-9 months. You'll also want to account for summer vacations and Christmas vacations. Historically there have not been that many interviews in December, or at least that's what I've noticed in general.

My NOA1 back in June 2008 was almost identical to you and I got my NOA 2 at the end of October and then my interview was in March 2009. It's always safer to guestimate longer, as opposed to shorter to avoid the disappointment and better plan your move. You have 6 months to use your visa once you are approved.

Thank you, Im just planing to leave the same week I get my visa...thats why.

  3. HI there,

Im waiting for the NOA2 (Got NOA1 June 1st so im guessing ill receive the NOA2 in late august/ early September.

Question : Once I get the NOA2 how long is the wait for an interview....

I thought the ENTIRE process from NOA1 to interview (in montreal) was 5-6 months...but it seams it will take around 5 months AFTER the NOA2 is received...is that correct on guestimates?

so the ENTIRE process isnt 5-6 months...its more like 9 months!???

I have to give my work 3 MONTHS notice...I was going to give them notice in September thinking i would have my visa in December....now this seams unrealistic... :(

  4. According to recent trends, the NOA2 is probably mid to late August..... If you are then interviewing in Montreal, you have a long wait after that, as Montreal is a very slow consulate

ok thank you! Yes, im interviewing in Montreal...long wait...like 3-4 months? after the interview and if im approved its only a couple weeks till you get the visa correct?....So I can still "guesstimate" to be in the US on my visa in Mid December? (Thats what ive been telling myself...)

  5. Since each consulates processing time is very different... the "guesstimates" for processing time is what is common for everyone which is the USCIS part of the process or NOA1 to NOA2. 5-6 mos. is the "official" line. The USCIS speeds up and slows down all the time. Your "guesstimate" is based on actual VJ member results over a recent timeframe (this assumes members accurately report)

So I may only receive my NOA2 in November/December... when I look at peoples timelines at the Cali. service center they all seam to have their actual visas within 6 months... this is why im lost....

  6. Hi, I think Im freaking myself out and getting confused. I was under the impression that the ENTIRE process from NOA1 to getting the visa in hand is 5-6 months is this right or is it 5-6 months from NOA1 to NOA2? My American Fiancee received our Noa1 on June 1st 2010. So I was estimating that we will receive our NOA2 sometime in September and I would get the visa before the new year. I have to give my work 3 months notice...so I was thinking of giving it in September...but now im not sure....help please...

and on my thime line is says "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between August 7, 2010 and August 17, 2010*.

Adjusted? what does that mean? I thought I was just waiting for the NOA2...?

Thanks for your help, God Bless
