  1. Not sure if this will help you or not, however, I had my medical done in Canada in Sept of 2010; I poe'd in Dec of2010. We filed for my AOS in February and I did not have the I-693 transcribed; I did however include a copy of my vaccinations received and the form I rec'd from Medysis who did my medical in Montreal. My case has been transfered to CSC and so far no RFE it. I also included a copy from their web-site listing the requirements concern9ing the medical as someone else posted on here for you to read. We just figured why spend the $ if it wasn't absolutely necessary. Good Luck!

I have a similar case as yours. I had me medical done at Medysis in October 2010, POE'd November 2010, got married that month as well and filed for AOS in December. I did not fill out the I-693 but sent the vaccination doc. worksheet the office gave me. No REF's and my interview is in a few weeks. I did get sent a checklist to make sure i bring all the documents required and the I 693 is on there. It says I 693 and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted)

So im not entirely sure if i should go ahead and get another medical done or not. The interview in Montreal I gave them all they asked for, so Im thinking that counts as "already submitted" or I would have gotten an REF....anyone have an opinion??

  2. Hi all!

okay so here is the deal...I arrived to the US on Nov 11th 2010 on K1 visa. My husband ended my getting laid off (he was able to meet the income requirements)and had his last day of work Nov 13th. We still got married as planed on Nov 16th 2010. We filed for the AOS paperwork a few weeks later but included papers from a sponsor (brother in law)since he got laid off and no longer met the income requirements. Today i received notice I 864A request for additional information about our joint sponsor. The thing is my husband got re hired January 4th of this year and now meets the income requirements again. So we are wondering the following

    1. Do we resend the AOS forms without the sponsor info, and if so do we have to repay the 1010$ fee?

    2. Can I just send in a letter explaing the situation and proof of his income now, as I would have originally done has he not been laid off

    3. Is it best to gather paper from my sponcer that i did not include, even though I dont need it. It would really be a hassel cause he is in special forces and overseas right now.

anyone out there that went though this or knows about it, that could help would be such a blessing, I called the help line and the guy I spoke to told me to consult a lawyer!

    Thanks for reading

  3. yeah it is. Its a copy they gave me for my records. Its just a checklist of the vaccinations I had done.

I just want to know how to fill out the form. Do I just fill out part 1? and send it in? Who fills out the rest? When I had my medical done they gave me a white and brown envelope. When I went to my interview they only wanted the white envelope and told me the other one was my x-rays. When I got my whole package and brought it to the POE I gave it to CBP as per the instructions, they went through it and kept it and sent me on my way.

  4. Are you sure it's the 2053? That's the medical.. you DID hand over your medical at POE right?... you might wanna include the sealed envelope when you send your AOS packet. Do you have a copy of your immunisations? Was it completed at your K1 medical?

  5. Hi, just got married yesterday and now am onto the AOS journey. I have a question about the I 693. I read we have to fill out Part 1 and the rest filled out by a civil surgeon? Is that right? I have my DS 2053. Do I just send that in with part 1 of the I 693? And what about my brown envelope that I got from the DR in Canada that says "do not open immigrant visa medical exam"? Any info is great. Thanks so much!

  7. Hi Venassa,

About DHL:You first need to get your reference number from the same website where you scheduled your interview from. Then, go to dhl.ca and track it using that number. It should tell you where your visa is.

About Champlain: I got there at about 5 pm on Friday. I was by myself, driving my own car that was loaded with my personal belongings. After I gave her my passport and scealed package, the customs officer asked me what I was bringing with me (I didn't have a list and she didn't ask for one). She asked if I had plants, alcohol... and if there was someone else bringing the rest of my things. I did not. She also asked if I was importing my car to the US. I was. Did I have the registration and proof that I actually owned the car. I happened to have the bill of sale with me and she said that would help.

Another officer came and got the envelope and my passport and I was told to park next to the customs building. Parked my car and left my keys with the officer. Went in and waited for about an hour. I was then called and was interviewd (again!) by another officer. He asked me the same kind of questions I had been asked at the consulate. He also asked where my fiancé was. I told him he couldn't get off work and politely explained that I didn't remember reading anywhwere that he needed to be there. Sat and waited a bit more and then he called me back. He stamped this and that, I paid 8 dollars and was told that I now needed to take care of my car.

They got an official field unit car to escort me to a different building so I could "take care of my car". The gentleman who took care of me didn't really know why they had sent me his way since my car was originally purchased in the US. That took another 20 minutes or so.

So, about 2 hours later, I was free to go.

My recommandations: do allow plenty of time and make sure you have proof that you own the car you're driving if that's the case. For the rest, same as for the visa interview: be polite and honest. And patient!!!

Let me know if you have any questions!

THANKS SO MUCH!!! Ya know, I bet they are not even suppose to interview you...youve already been approved...they can't deny you! lol...

  8. Had my interview on October 20th in Montreal, picked up my visa on the 25th! I saw on the website that DHL actually received it on the 22nd, but they never called me. POE was yesterday in Champlain New York. Took a bit longer than I expected it to (almost 2 hours), but most of that was wait time. The officer asked me questions similar to those asked at the consulate and he said he was surprised that my fiance wasn't with me. I told him that I didn't know that his presence was necessary. He explained that it allows the customs officials to watch the couple interact so they can see if it's a real relationship... I thought that was a bit odd. Anyway. Now writing this post from my new home in NC! We are planning a quickie wedding so I can get back to work asap.

    Good luck to everyone!!!

oH! you said on the website you saw that DHL had your package and forgot to call...so how did you get your package? and how did track it on the website? any formula to the tracking number, like your refrence number or date of birth or something?

    thanks!

Im going through champlian too! Any tips?

  10. I've read that your passport has to be valid 6 months from your interview date...now I just read that it has to be valid at least a year! The problem is my passport expires in August 2011!

I went to the office to get a new passport today, but they told me Ill get a new passport number and my current one (which ive used to process all the k1 visa papers)will be marked as invalid! So she advised me to use my current passport and not renew yet.

My interview is in 2 weeks, and if i get the visa will they give it to me if my passport expires under a year from now?!
