  1. I am so glad you got your approval!!! Our journey was long and crazy with my husband's GC as well. Eventually it was all taken care of. The reason they sent you a RFE was because you are supposed to file 90 prior to your conditional status expiring. My husband received a letter at POE and the immigration officer also advised him of this. His conditional status expired Dec 16 2013 and in August of 2013 we received another letter reminding him he had to file in the next 30 days. We were lucky and didn't receive an interview. I guess they thought they had harassed us enough!!! lol!!!

    Glad everything went well!!!

  2. They received my case on Jan. 21, and as soon as I hit 20 business days, (I also adjusted for the holidays and snow days.) they told me it would be 10 more business days. But that I should wait to hear from them. Ha. Fat chance. I call every day.

Hi! My daughters cases were received on the same date as yours, I just received their case numbers from a very rude witch!!! But I got them anyway!!!

  3. AOS CHECKLIST

my mother entered USA 0N 12/8/12 for the 1st time.NVC wants a letter explaining why she didn't file taxes in 2012. how do I go about writing letter for her (im not sure what to write. is there a sample letter here that I can use?) does the letter needs to be notarize? thanks in advance

I had this happen to me many years ago when I petitioned for the father of my children. I was a student and hadn't file any taxes. All you have to do is have your mom write a letter(or type it for her) attention to National Visa Center: stating she entered the US on 12/08/2012. She did not file taxes because she entered 22 days before the year was over and did not have income over $3000 if any. You don't have to have the letter notarize but if you are a member of any bank, they usually notarize it for free. Have her sign and send it ASAP!

This is not an issue. They just need to have it for their records.

  4. OK Guys!!! It's official!!! My husband's case was approved!!! Just received hard copy in the mail stating:

Congratulations! Your request for the removal of the conditional basis of your permanent resident status has been approved. You are deemed to be a Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States as of the date of your original admission or adjustment of status.

You should receive a new Permanent Resident Card, Form I-551(green card) within 60 days...........

Unbelievable! After all we went through last year trying to get his conditional card mailed! Amazing!!!! Now all we need is his girls here to make things perfect!!!dancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gif

  5. This evening, the first transfer notice was received.

"On November 13, 2013, we transferred this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action...."

I tried to update my timeline, but the transfer date is not showing. Perhaps it will show once I enter the "To Where" service center location. For now, I entered the transfer info into the comments section.

Hello!!! I just received one as well! Hope this gets approve soon! Have no idea where the case was transferred to. I'm sure the letter in the mail will say.

  6. Yes I do mean the biometrics appointment when I said ASC sorry. I was wondering if they used his fingerprints from March because we had a horrible experience the first time with his Green card. The post office lost the first one, we had to pay again $450 to receive a new one after numerous attempts from congressmen and senators to have them mail him one for free; that didn't work. He finally just got his conditional one in June. Yes exactly 18 months after entering the U.S.

So I'm wondering since his picture and prints were taken this year, if they just used this info? I'm praying they did!!!

  7. Hi Everyone!

This is really weird. I received a letter on 10/17 saying my case had been transferred from Vermont to California. My husband called 2 weeks ago and was told he should be receiving his ASC before December 16. Today I get an email as well as the USCIS site status saying:

On November 13, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Has anyone else gotten this? Is this an error??

  8. Received my Biometrics Letter on 09/21/13. Appointment date 10/10/13.

  9. Hello to all!

It has been a long time since I had last posted. These two years have gone fast. It sure hasn't been easy and yet, here we are, still together. I just filed yesterday (September 16, 2013) and hope that we don't have an interview and have a quick approval. But that is only a hope, which might be very different from reality.

    Best wishes to all!

Hey Girl!!! It really has been awhile!!!

I sent my my package on the 13 of September and they my NOA1 is dated for September 17. I wish us all lots of luck and hope that quick approval without an interview is a reality!!!!

  10. We sent out 5 emails to different senators and hoping they will find time to answer that email. To those people who already sent out the letter to there senators, did you snail mailed it or you just emailed it to them?

I sent out a letter to our congressman and they sent me a print screen of the USCIS case status page, I was so frustrated I wanted to cry! I thought my stepdaughters would be here by now. Not sure what else to do. USCIS customer service is awful. They have no idea what the heck they're doing.

  11. Hello everyone!!! I just filed for my two stepdaughters. Received NOA1 March 28, 2013. Case got sent to National Benefits Center, so we are hoping and praying for a fast approval (fingers crossed).

Quick update on us. We finally got my stepdaughter's greencard. It took about 4 weeks after USCIS shows they mailed it. Everything is going great. I've learned more spanish in the last month than i did in the 3 years my husband and i have been together. She is also picking up on English really fast. She is only 3 so it will be a lot easier for her than me! She is adjusting really well. My husband and I also have a 18 month old so they are having a blast together. They love each other so much and it's so cute watching them play together. I have my hands full to say the least.

For those who are still on this journey, good luck to all of you. I know how frustrating it can be to wait, wait, wait but it's so worth it in the end. My husband and I still sit at the now loud dinner table and just laugh at all the chatter. Two months ago we were only dreaming about this day and now it's here and we wouldn't change any part of what we've gone through. We are so blessed that everything worked out and that we found visa journey. We would have been lost without the knowledge and support of those who have and are going through this same process to bring loved ones home. Now for the real journey......LIFE :)

    Congratulations!!!!!

  12. My wife just received her conditional two year green card. We are now planning a trip to China for her to visit her mother. Are there any restrictions on how long she can stay in China? We are planning a 60 day visit and then return to America. Will this be a problem? Where can I look for any guidelines from the government? Thanks, Biff

She is a permanent resident. As long as she has her return ticket and does not stay out of the country more than 180days, there should be no problems. Since its only 60 days, she should be fine.

  13. Hello, Thanks to all the help and information on this site, My fiancee was approved for her K1 visa on 11/9/11!! I just have a few questions. Will the consulate send back the originals of her birth certificate and police record and medical records along with her passport and visa? She was asked to hand in all her legal documents the day of the interview but they did not give us anything back, only the receipt to pay for domex. Also can anyone from the DR portal explain to me the airport process and the POE process. Is anything special needed? Thank you guys so much.

congratulations!!!!!! You should receive your docs when the visa is issued.
