I-134 is submitted at the embassy too at the time of the interview, not before! I dont quite understand why do you have to go to the embassy. If you go they will turn you away!
Dont make a trip for no reason. Did they give you an interview date? Just take everything there..
He's planning on going home immediately to get the police cert. from there - not to the embassy... he's just been phoning the embassy.
So is there anything he needs to submit PRIOR to being given an interview date???
They sent him his packet, but did not mention a date for an interview. I thought he needed to return a few items from the packet IMMEDIATELY, then he'd get a date for an interview. By the interview, he would need the complete packet of information with the police certs and medical, etc... or so I thought.
Am I confused? (obviously I am
)
for K/3 interview letter and everything come along with the packet and you need to submit nothing.
You can call embassy and ask 'em or you can send an e.mail on PakIVInfo@state.gov for your case status inquiry.
Good luck for your up coming interview !!

ALHAMDULILLAH!!!!!!!!!!!
My wife's K3 visa has been approved.
Interview went smooth, but was detailed. Following questions were asked:
When did u get married?
What does your husband do?
Where he lives?
What does he do in spare time? (She said I read books)
What kind of books he reads?
Does he tell u names of books?
They did see wedding pics. and call records.
Having seen call records the CO (in my wife's words, "a very young white girl") said welcome to the U.S., You will your visa in three days. She also suggested that my wife leaves for U.S. as soon possible. (My wife is now, MASHA ALLAH, 5 and a half month pregnant). She told her to leave right away cuz airlines will give her peoblems if 7th month started.
I want to thank everyone on VJ for their sincere support. I am praying from the bottom of my heart for each and eveyone to complete their visa journey soon. Aameen.
Mashallah !! Brother Bohat Mubarak hoo ap ko ..

Thanks for all the congrats. I have a question about ticket process. I am sending the ticket(PIA) for my wife. The traveling agent is telling me that she needs a transit visa since flight will be staying some time in Manchester, UK. Does anyone has this experience before, or is it specific to visa given. And also is the electronic ticket is good becuase thats what travelling agent is issuing. I hope she does not have any problem at the airport.
Thanks
Sham

I am a real estate agent in california since 1988. if you buy thru an islamic mortgage company, you will be robbed. stay away from them. with them you will be renter. never be an owner. if you have any common sense, stay away as far from them as you can. they will con you. rob you
please give details.
and by the way mike what other options are out there? NONE
Prior to close your house did you complete your homework I mean did you compare the ‘numbers’ between two lender companies? I mean try to compare Islamic Mortgage Company amount to some local mortgage company. I visited the site you sent me but I think it is kind savvy in order to understand all that material one should have to sit with a financial consultant.
Anyway try to do common scenarios like
A Company (Islamic Mortgage)
Principal = xxx
Interest = (it seems to me in Islamic Mortgage there is no concept of interest but there is something you can call it (intangible amount)
Number of years = 15 or 20 (in most cases)
B (local mortgage company)
Principal = xxx
Interest = xx
Number of years = 15 or 20
I think at the end of the day one should be paying exactly the same amount no matter you are going through Islamic Mortgage or Local Mortgage. If this is not the case then please write something about Islamic Mortgage. Like Mike said earlier he has been in the real state industory for quite long he must have valid reasons.

Finally the visa arrived at AMEX. I got it yesterday. And the visa is issued. After the Rome US embassy aproved my waiver in mid July. The PAki US embassy asked for clearances from Khi and Lhr. And updated medical report. Which I submitted last week. The visa officer instantly told me the visa/waiver is approved. And the visa can be issued. Yesterday I collected my passport. With the token received at the Embassy. So easy and simple was the last step. And no interrogation. Nothing.........
NOw its time to plan the journey back to the US. Where wife and daughter awaits my arrival.
Thank you for all your updates and suggestions. And thank you to all the people who shared their stories with me in the group. I 'd like to thank the visa journey for making one place for fellow immigration processees to meet at one place and share their views and updates at one place with around the world regardless of where they are.
Congrats brother !!

Hi friends,
My wife called embassy of Pakistan she can extend visa for 15 days on airport
so embassy spokesman said there will be no problem. and we can extend it inside pakistan too
so good luck every one.
we have to wait for Dec for interview.
My dear friend, if embassy’s staff behaving with you in a such friendly way then why don't you just go ahead and request for an early appointment try to change your interview date from December to sometime in October in that way you will probably save at least two whole months. In worse case scenario they just decline your request for early appointment that will not going to hurt your real interview. Think for minute with cool mind and try for an early appointment.
Wish you best of luck.

Will India follow Israel's footsteps ? I highly doubt that they will make this move, but if they do they will be making a big mistake.

Indian mag predicts war along LoC
* Army considering punitive raids in AJK to counter ‘attack by infiltration’ strategy
By Iftikhar Gilani
NEW DELHI: Forget back channel diplomacy, if the Indian army has its way it will unleash a new “war doctrine” to combat what it describes as Islamabad’s new strategy of “attack by infiltration” into Indian territory beyond Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
According to this month’s issue of Force magazine, the army may attempt to persuade New Delhi to follow the Israeli example in Lebanon and authorise the attack of “terrorist” targets in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. This could include punitive raids against Pakistani posts along the Line of Control (LoC), cross-border pursuit of militants and the crushing of militant training camps.
Indeed, the magazine points out that “it is not difficult for the army to attack a nearby Pakistani post on the LoC and bring back their dead to show intruders into Indian territory”, noting that “both sides have attempted this in the past”.
Force also stresses that India is “well-prepared to meet Pakistan’s war threat (in retaliation) head-on”, going on to suggest that New Delhi would simply need to allow its military a timeframe of three to four weeks to accomplish its aims before bowing to international pressure for a ceasefire.
Thus it warns that the next three months - that is, before winter sets in and the passes in Jammu and Kashmir close for the season - could prove crucial for India’s relations with Pakistan.
The magazine also says that the armed forces have taken into account Pakistan’s military weaknesses to ensure the success of their war doctrine.
“Should Pakistan decide to enlarge the war theatre to ease pressure on the J&K front, the Indian military will seek to destroy its offensive forces, as well as capture territory inside the Thar desert to be used as a bargaining chip in the aftermath of war,” the magazine says in its unsigned cover story, ‘Peace by Other Means’.
Moreover, Force points out that President Musharraf understands this. Thus his offer to help India nab those responsible for last month’s Mumbai train blasts came with a warning to New Delhi to refrain from any hot pursuit across the LoC. In short, “he (Musharraf) is threatening action against likely raids by the Indian Army inside PoK”.
The magazine notes that “New Delhi should understand its military strength too”. Army forces stationed in J&K say that following India’s fencing of the LoC and its employment of surveillance equipment in the area – cross-border infiltration has taken on a new guise.
According to Lt Gen Deepak Kapoor, the army commander of Northern Commands, “infiltration into J&K is unstoppable as the LoC is no longer the sole route of entering the state as terrorists infiltrate from all available routes and their area of interest is no longer confined to J&K”.
Given that terrorism is now spilling into India’s heartland, the magazine says that New Delhi may choose to look beyond diplomatic and intelligence-based solutions to dismantle the ever-expanding tentacles of terrorism.
Enter the Indian army, which has stressed that military action be seriously considered if all other options fail. It has pointed out that the country’s armed forces have come a long way since the end of Operation Parakram in 2002, stressing that air, naval and military forces now have “the capability, will and a war winning strategy against Pakistan”.
According to Force, the army would use Special Forces deployments, assisted by the Air Force, to win any battle with Pakistan. The magazine also identifies the significant areas of Pakistan’s military weakness that would aid Indian forces in defeating any attempt by Islamabad to expand its war theatre:
* The Pakistan Air Force’s capacity to conduct daily sorties is calculated at 260 per day, compared to the Indian Air Force’s potential of 450;
* Pakistan’s 11 and 12 Corps (reserves for the Indian theatre) are completely tied down in other ongoing military activities, such as the US-led Operation Mountain Thrust in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). Thus most of these forces would be unavailable for any short war with India;
* Pakistan is already facing internal dissension in Balochistan;
* In operational terms, there are innumerable choke points in the Pakistan army’s lines of communications, rendering them vulnerable to interdiction;
* Karachi port remains vulnerable.
Thus the race is on in the next three months to determine what the choice will be for India and Pakistan: war or peace?

Young professionals launch liberal website on Pakistan
By Khalid Hasan
WASHINGTON: A group of young Pakistani professionals in America have launched a new liberal website called New Pakistan.
Syed Husainy, a Pakistani-American businessman, who has helped mount the initiative, said New Pakistan would be political but non-partisan. It will support the restoration of constitutional democracy in Pakistan and “all the oppressed peoples of Pakistan, notwithstanding occasional disagreements with our democratic political leaders and parties”.
He said a political struggle, by definition, cannot be perfect. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah embraced many flawed figures to lead South Asia’s Muslims in the creation of Pakistan. Good ends such as stability and economic development should not become the justification for bad means like military intervention in politics. “With that philosophy of political realism, New Pakistan starts its journey of advocating a Pakistan that is peaceful, prosperous, and democratic, reflecting the aspirations and interests of its people rather than the ambitions of an oligarchy wedded to a vague ideology.
The inaugural editorial entitled ‘Need for a New Beginning’, said Pakistan was not meant to be a military dictatorship or, for that matter, the breeding ground for religious extremism. It has become both. In 59 years, Pakistan has undergone a second partition in the form of the separation of Bangladesh and has been plagued with ethnic or sectarian disharmony.
For more than half the period of Pakistan’s existence, the country has had either no constitution or a suspension of the constitutional order. Transfers of power have almost always been the result of military or palace coups. Pakistan is a nuclear weapons power but is unable to provide clean drinking water to a majority of its citizens. The wealth of a few has increased but so has the misery of the many.
The editorial said, “Educated Pakistanis sometimes get tired of what they see as constant criticism of Pakistan in the international media. Some respond by blaming Pakistan’s enemies for painting a stark picture of the Pakistani situation. Others try to point towards the softer side of Pakistan, arguing that Pakistan’s reality includes the hard work of its people and the creativity of its citizens. But the success or failure of a nation or state, both of which are political concepts, cannot be measured by recounting the poems of poets, the songs of musicians, the mystical dances of Sufis and the scores of sportsmen. In the final analysis, the value of a political ideal can only be assessed by political criteria.”
Pakistan, the editorial added, is a complex reality, but its political evolution — or lack of it — is the real reason Pakistan is seen by the world as “the sick man of South Asia”. Instead of war and conflict with neighbours, Pakistan’s energies need to be focused on building a just and inclusive political order. Instead of militarism and militancy, Pakistan needs to embrace moderation, tolerance and democracy. Instead of rejecting the country’s internal and external critics as “negative people” or “enemies of Pakistan,” their concerns need to be addressed

Hi,
Joining you after a long time, was busy. Where is everybody's case
Shon you still in line ooooops thats soo disappointing really feel sad for you
I am getting ready for interview in Jan, talked about medical
i have a lot of time for preparation of interview dont know how to prepare
Buddy,
It will be an Immigration interview NOT the job interview where you have to prepare yourself. CO’s mostly ask very simple and straightforward questions. If you guys married with good intention then you have no problem brother.
-
muffin? whats that
salay at embassy are scheduling cr1 interview for jan 2007 now.
well next step AOS here we go baby, new form, more damn fees,
Janab Ali Murtaza Shaib when you r leaving for PK?
-
Wsalam,
First of all welcome to this thread and wish you best of luck.
anyway, i'm the USC and my husband is pakistani, and his interview for CR1 is on Jan 2...but by that time we are gonna be married for two years, so will he then get an IR1 visa?after 2 years of marriage 'technically' your husband will get IR1 visa.
also, is it better for the USC to attend the interview with the spouse, or does it not really make any difference...also, would the fact that we have a child together make any difference, or not...sorry if my questions are lame, im just thinking of every single possible thing that might affect my husband getting his visa...since it has been 6 months since i've seen him
It is always a good idea to attend the interview with your spouse but I am sure that presence of USC at the time of interview doesn’t help to change the outcome of CO’s decision. There are so many people in this thread who attended interviews with their spouses but the core reason was to boost spouse morale. of course your presence at interview will very helpful to him.
If you guys have child together then it is also a positive point for you because in our religion and culture (Muslim religion & Pakistani culture) it is totally unacceptable to have ‘child before marriage’
Thanks for your help

Great news for Pakistanis living UK.
A Pakistani has become the highest ranking non-white military officer in the British Military with attaining the Rank of Admiral.

Muslim becomes Navy rear admiral
A 48-year-old senior officer who joined the Royal Navy in 1977 has been appointed rear admiral and becomes the highest ranking Muslim in the service.
Commodore Amjad Hussain, who lives in Hertfordshire, will head the defence logistics organisation in Bath.
His last posting was at Portsmouth where he was the naval base commander.
He is an outspoken supporter of ethnic minorities joining the armed forces and said at a recent awards ceremony: "It is a wonderful life."
'Value equality'
The engineering and business administration graduate from Durham University has served in fishing protection vessels and as a weapons officer on an aircraft carrier.
He said: "If you are working in a part of the world where your life is in danger, you need a great team. We value equality for that very reason.
"In many countries, the armed forces are often the last bastion of traditional thinking. If my example gives encouragement to young British Asians to sign up then I will be a happy man."
Commodore Hussain has also had two spells working in Whitehall in equipment and resource planning.
