  1. This is an awesome experience for you. Wow you don’t just know how your great success has an impart in me right now.It seems you bolstered and lifted my confidence now to 80%.Mine is two weeks to come and I have prepared everything intact. This is your week, please enjoy it.

I am a Master’s student and I am still on F1 visa, though my profile account is showing pending permanent resident.Do I have to take my I-20 form along with me to the interview??It wasn’t among the listed document we should provide.

Well so far as of today,we have gathered together the documents below, with your experienced, can this documents strike a cord on the IO.

    1. ***Joint bank account,

    2. *** AT&T internet & cable bill

    3. *** Water bill

    4 *** Energy(gas) bill.

    5. ***Joint family(AT&T) phone bills,

    6. .***Joint family LA LITNESS bill

    7. *** Notarized Affidavit from two friends .

    8. *** letters address to both of us or to the same address.

    9. *** wedding photos and photos before marriage up to 350 pics.

    10. *** Driver license name changed to married name.

    11. *** Her Social security card now on our marriage name

    12. *** My learner permit driver license card with the same address.

    13. ***Hotel receipt for our honeymoon.

    14. ***A trip together to North Carolina, whitehouse,Baltimore, virginia in July to see her parent again(That would proof plane ticket and photo taken).

The address on our interview is in** Irving circle east lobby**

    Again CONGRATS

Thank you!! I'm so happy it made you feel better about it! :) Most of the officers looked nice and my lawyer who knows most of them told us that they are normally good/nice in the Irving office. The address is correct, I don't know why they print out the "lobby" on there since it is not really part of the address. You will see the main doors and the security through the big glass windows.

You have more than enough evidence. I did bring all my I-20s even though I graduated with my MBA in Nov 2007 and I probably didn't need to. I would tell you to bring them since you're still in school, just to be sure, but they might not ask for them...like for us they might not ask for anything, who knows :)

Congrats Hoppla!! I tolu you. I'm very happy for you.

Thank you adethony!!! :D I know, you did and you were soooo right!

  2. The last April filer is APPROVED AT INTERVIEW! Our interview lasted a total of 2 MINUTES. He swore us in, asked for ID, took out the I-94s (We had 2 because we kept the original when we used his AP... he took the one in the passport and I said, oh, I have this one too, and handed him the old one.) Then he asked each of us ONE question. (!!!!!) To me, when is your husband's birthday. To him, have you ever been arrested in the United States. Then he said do you have any pictures to show me. I said yes, he flipped through them for about 5 seconds. Meanwhile asked, have you had a chance to go on a honeymoon yet? I said no, but we have gone on three trips together, two to Montana where I am from and one to Israel. He said, oh, this must be Montana (to one of the pics). I said yes. He said okay, I am approving you today.

Then he talked about ROC and I asked him about moving temp abroad with the GC. With the ROC discussion and my questions, it was maybe 5 minutes... but the actual questions (ONE EACH) lasted two minutes.

I was worried about lack of evidence (3 affidavits orig. submitted is all) but he didn't ask for new evidence. I was worried about no wedding rings, and a million other things. I was expecting to answer all sorts of questions about everything (movies, parent's names). All, nothing.

Good job everyone!!! (Jannah, don't worry, you will be approved once they sort out your ex, which they need to do).

Congrats!! :D Great day for the two of us!

Haha! I also asked about moving abroad with the GC, but I asked my lawyer who happened to be in the waiting area. And, I know, My husband had memorized dates and names and what not and was prepared to be cross examined and we didn't even get ONE question :)

  3. Congrats Hoppla! Oh man, I think I saw the VERY tall guy...he interviewed people fast and im glad you weren't hassled like I did!:dance::dance:

Thanks!!! :) Yeah, there were a couple of tall men, but this one had something wrong with his eyes...like he couldn't focus really. I am really glad we weren't hassled as well, I was a little nervous after hearing about your experience  Luckily it all worked out!

  4. Honestly I'm not worried about the interview at all. We have been married since April 2009 and been together since 2003, I got a lot of evidence and its just another step at this point. I'm more excited about just getting it over with.

Yeah, then the interview will be a breeze. I wasn't worried until the week before haha! It is sure nice to have it over with, even though I still don't feel like it is over for some reason. Maybe because I know we have to do the ROC later, 2 years will fly by and then it's back to USCIS

  5. Congrats hoppla, thats was wired but great that your approved. Next is your letter welcoming you to the United States. I can only imagine how good that will feel. Congrats....my Swedish, Brazilian about to be American in a few years friend.

Thank you tuts! :D Yes, true, I can still wait for the letter and the card :) I hope your interview will be as easy as mine!!

  6. YAY!!!!congrats hoppla!!!!!!

It is so weird when we leave the interview it's a feeling of #######?!?was that it ?!? Lol

I'm so glad that your interview was easy and painless

My fellow Brazilian look like ...lol

    Congrats again !!!

    OBRIGADO!!! :dancing:

That is exactly how it feels...like okay, now what? LOL It was so easy, wasn't like an interview at all...I guess since no questions were asked

I'm Brazilian in my heart and in my looks

  7. Wow, yeah.. that is a little weird.

The part where the IO didn't ask anything about your relationship... that's not completely surprising..

    But no documents! Crazy!

Although now that I remember it, our IO didn't ever check our picture IDs (passport or license) to check that we are who we say we are.

But at least he did look at our Birth certificates..

Also weird that you weren't sworn in!

Well anyhow.. they probably already made up their minds about your case before you even started the interview anyway..

How does it feel now? Pretty awesome feeling right?

Hope you're celebrating tonight somehow! I'll open up a bottle of proseco in your honor.

    Cheers! :star:

It feels a little weird, like it isn't over... Especially since I was prepared to at least get asked for my DOB or something haha!

He didn't ask for our birth certificates either, when he went through the file he didn't see mine at first and I said I had another copy and the original and he said no, if you sent it in it is in here, the documents just get shuffled around so much in the file. I told him the Swedish ones are different looking, they are not called birth certificate and he found it and said is it extract from population register and I said yes.

I got such a terrible headache when I got home so celebrating with a beer and pain killers hahaha! (not as bad as it sounds though) We went out for lunch and had a beer right after the interview though. Thanks for celebrating with me! ;)

  8. Wow God is great.I am happy for you.Now your success has lifted me up.Congratsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Thanks!! Like I said, please let me know if you have any questions that I can help with! I'm sure you will get approved too!

QUESTION: my IO never ask about my EAD and the card still with me what should I do ? Send it back ?call and ask ? Keep it ?

I still have mine as well (obviously since he didn't ask for any of my stuff haha). I thought I would just keep it (unless that is illegal ) I still have my I-94 and AP as well. Oh and my old EAD from OPT.

    Congrats .....

    Thank you, thank you!!! :)

    Congratulations!

    Thank you!! :dancing:

  9. Good luck Harpa & Hoppla!

Guys, when should I schedule an info pass about the decision? It will be 3 weeks tomorrow and no word at all. The IO told us no more than 2 weeks.

    Thanks :)

Thank you!! I got approved! :D It was a weird interview, he didn't ask us any questions just read from the application. Didn't ask for any docs. not even our driver's license or passport...Nothing!!! I posted my review on the May filers thread.

I hope that you will get the approval notice this week!!

  10. So, here is my experience....

We got to USCIS in Irving, TX around 11.45am and our appointment was at 12.15pm. We walked in, to security where we showed our interview letter and he stamped "draft" (?) on it. He also asked me if i had brought the cashier's check and after I freaked out and gave him a scared look, he laughed and said no, I'm just kidding!! I told him he got me worried, USCIS has already got a lot of my money and I don't want to pay more and he agreed that it was an expensive process and we moved on.

Walked upstairs (2nd floor) and turned in our interview letter at the reception/front desk and the lady gave us a restaurant style buzzer (think Chili's). We looked for a seat in the very full waiting area and got stopped by our lawyer who was there with another couple. Their appointment time was 11.30 am and they said it was about an hour wait. We sat down with them and talked about snowboarding and health care until their buzzer rang.

There were IOs coming out from three different doors and it moved on pretty quick, we were mostly people watching and then our buzzer rang. We walked up to the reception area where a tall man was waiting, he looked confused at us, took the buzzer and said "I think I have the wrong couple" (I thought for myself...here we go...)and then he asked me "What country are you from?" I said Sweden, and he said OOH! Then it is the right ones. I asked him if he expected a blond, blue-eyed girl and he said yes. (This happens to me all the time, so I figured that out when he looked confused) We laughed, I told him my mom is blond and blue-eyed and that I get that all the time. He said he thought I was Brazilian (again, get that ALL the time!) and that my hubby was Italian or Hispanic (he gets that a lot too haha!) We walked in to his office. This is where it starts getting weird....or weirder haha!

We sit down, my file is already on his desk. He explains that there are 2 parts to the interview, first he goes through the application to make sure everything is there and then he asks for evidence that we are living together/bonafide marriage. He asked if I had any questions and I said not yet. Note! He did not make us swear. He starts going through the file, not asking questions, just more telling me...Your name is xx, your birth date is xx, your parents names are xx etc. I just said yes, yes... and he made check marks on the application. He asked me about 3-4 questions from the I-485 and I answered No, No, No...again he checked marked it. He said oh, I see XX is a co-sponsor to help out financially (didn't ask how I knew her or anything) and in the end of the application where the word collage I had made with some pics from 2008-2010 and he said oh, and here are some pics and I guess this is from Dallas and not your small town on a pic from St Pattys and I said yes and we all laughed. I told him I had more photos and he didn't say anything or didn't hear. My hubby told him that you can kind of see the time line by looking at his hair (he has short hair now, but it has been long and short during our relationship) and the IO said ah yeah, I didn't think about that, you're right. All the time while he went through the application we were talking about all kinds of stuff (non immigration related) like Texas, languages etc etc. Then he said Okay, you're application is fully complete. I don't see a reason to not approve your wife today to my hubby. I said, great! Asked if they stamp passports and he said only if it is an emergency, but the process for GCs are automatic now and much faster than it used to be so I would have it in about 2 weeks. He said he would put it in the system today. He told me that this was a conditional GC and that we had to apply for ROC etc. I said, I know and then we got up, shock hands and walked out. I forgot to check what time it was when we went in, but we were there for 5-10 min and walked out the building at 1.08pm.

We walked past the office where my lawyer and the other couple were and they were still interviewing them. They are not in cubicles in Irving, but small private offices with glass windows.

So, he didn't ask us ANY questions!!! Not one! Not how did you meet, nothing! Not even our DOB, address, he just read my info out loud from the application. Didn't ask my husband anything. He didn't ask for ANY documents and I'm not just talking about evidence, no driver's license, passport, I-94, EAD...NOTHING!!!! When we were done, I put my huge file folder back into my bag and said ok, I'll put my life back in the bag then and he just smiled. SO WEIRD!!!

Elus, please let me know if you have any question at all about the Irving office or my experience! It is a new building, only 2 years old and there is a lot of (free) parking in front of the building.

  11. Guess who just found a bunch of extra evidence? :D Searched my emails and found some from his dad, his dad's girlfriend to me mentioning my husband. I also found orders we have made on Amazon with either me or him as billing and the other one as shipping, at the same address, and an email to me from our cable company confirming a payment with his credit card and name. Wooohooo! I feel so much better now! Oh, and no I won't sleep probably ;)

  12. I am really praying for your success.Your success will help me a great deal in achieving mine too.We have the same centre for the interview and just two weeks apart. The spirit of success is upon you and you will smile at the end of the day.

    Best of Luck

Thank you, thank you! :) I will share my experience on here, but might not be able to get online until tomorrow night, just so you know.

Sorry been busy... congrats to everyone that made some progress. Good luck hoppla and all the other interviews this week.

Thanks tuts!! :) Busy is good, means you have a job ;)

  13. Hoppla,

    All the best.

I know by this time tomorrow you'll be laughing at yourself for worrying too much.

We'll be waiting to share your experience.

I have a feeling I will as well :D I'm kind of a control freak and want everything to be perfect (in case you haven't noticed already haha).

We live 1.5 hr away from the Immi office and might stay and eat or something, so don't get impatient if I don't get back to you until tomorrow night ;)

  14. Good luck hoppla! And good luck in a few days to you too Candy!

Thank you!! Sooo stressed out still!!! :huh2: I have bought a printer, so that issue is solved. Got an album and have all the photos, now I just have to organize all the docs and make copies and maybe print some extra stuff out. We're meeting my friend tomorrow on our way there to pick up the tax return for 2009, just in case. Thank you for all the good wishes, send us a little prayer tomorrow please!

  15. Okay Hoppla, you and I tomorrow! :D Good luck to us both! (well all four of us ;))

Regarding fax, you can have her fax it to a copy store like a Kinko's and you can pick it up. They charge per page for this service; just call and ask for the fax number and confirm that they do third party faxes (or whatever it's called). Problem solved!

Thanks for the tip, might do that!

Good luck to you too!! Hopefully we will both come back with good news to VJ! :D

  16. Hmm.. can they scan and email you the 2009 tax return by chance?

I would say if there is a way, try to have it with you for the interview.

But if it makes you feel any better the i-864 was not even mentioned AT ALL during our interview.

I have a feeling if they didn't send you an RFE then they don't need it..

But don't take my word for it, I can't claim to understand the inner workings of our beloved USCIS :bonk:

PS: Forgot to say, good luck tomorrow hoppla! :luv:

No, she doesn't have access to a scanner, only fax and I don't have access to a fax  I guess we could leave really early and drive by her job to pick it up. Will have to talk to her about that. I think they should have sent a RFE as well if they needed it.

  17. Thanks for all the well wishes guys!We are so nervous. Just keep going over all the practice questions we have seen online and thinking of everything they could ask. I told my husband last night, we just have to leave it up to God now. If we don't know eachother after the past 2 1/2 years together then we never will.

One last question for anyone who knows. In reading over the checklist for the I-485, they asked for birth certificates for children either of us have...which seems kinda bizarre, as we have no children together, and most of our children are adults. With the exception of my 12 year old who lives with my ex.

I gave my oldest two their birth certificates and I only have copies. Same with my youngest, I only have a copy. The form does not specify Certified, nor original, do you think this will fly?

We are not adjusting for any children, just my husband.

    Thanks

    Candy

Are the children US citizens? if so, my lawyer said they will most likely not ask for the birth certificate. We don't have my husbands original only a non-certified copy(he's the USC) and the lawyer said we would probably be alright. He said worst case scenario they will ask you to fill out a form and send it in later. You should be okay. I'm so nervous as well, didn't think I would be!!

  18. But you didn't send all that already?

Trust me if you already send they don't need they check on the sponsor before the interview and if the need something the send an RFE on my interview they didn't even say nothing about sponsor or my wife's income .

I read on some post that the IO told to a couple to not worry about that kind of stuff they do enough check on the paperwork before the interview stage .

Relax and focus on been yourself with your hubby that's what the interview is for ok!?! ;)

We sent everything except for 2009 tax return. Because the lawyer told me that they had it and they had sent it, but they never did. They sent the W2 for 2009 & 2008 and the tax return for 2008. On the cover letter the lawyer said they included the 2009 tax return as well but they never did, so I guess USCIS missed that or didn't care. We never got a RFE for it.

  19. Yeah, after the CR-1 process, I learned to fill out all forms myself, there were so many mistakes by the lawyer's flunky. We never sent in a 2009 tax return either, and never got an RFE (although others did). I took it to the interview, and she never asked for it. Sigh. It is so hard to tell what you need and what you don't. I recall something in my interview letter (which I forgot to take a photocopy of DAMMIT) that suggested I did need to bring it, though.

Yeah it says to bring the form I-864 (affidavit of support)including the supporting docs. if not already submitted. I don't know what to do, my co-sponsor lives 1.5 hrs from us and she is working during the days. She can't scan and email it to me and I don't have a fax....aaargh!!

  20. I second the good luck wishes to hoppla and Candyricardo!!! star_smile.gif

Plus, I put a little starry thing beside mine. tongue.gif

Thanks! I'm liking the star, though Felipe's many thumbs were very cool as well ;) Lawyers told us to not worry about the original birth certificate and worst case scenario if they will ask for it we'll have to come back with it. His dad is sending it express to us, but we won't get it before we have to leave tomorrow morning.

Also, dang I'm discovering so many mistakes, I should have filled out everything myself instead of hiring a lawyer! I don't know if you guys remember but in the very beginning of this process, I was nervous that the lawyer only sent the 2008 tax return for my co-sponsor? Well, they checked and told me no, they sent the 2009 and I asked again if they were sure and they said yes. Well, he gave the copies on what they sent in the other day, and looky looky NO 2009 tax return (even thought they had written that it was included on the cover letter). We never got a RFE for this, so should I not bother trying to get it from my co-sponsor? Again, we live in the country now so everyone is a hassle to get to.
