I keep forgetting to come back here and update my status. I had my interview on May 1 and was approved. The Oath Ceremony was May 22 and I am now an US citizen with passport and all Could someone please update the table for me? Thanks!!

I had my interview on May 1st. I was recommended for approval. Answered the first 6 questions correctly, passed the English test and really just had a nice conversation with the officer. The only document that she asked for was my passport and my greencard. I am now hoping that I will get an app. for the oath ceremony as soon as possible as I am planning to travel out of the country this summer. My online status has not changed yet.

Also, she mentioned that changing my name to my husbands last name was not considered a legal name change. It is a much easier process. But unless you want to pay to change it on the greencard, I would still suggest waiting until the naturalization to do it.

My interview is at 7:30am, so I wouldn't worry about that. I also only got the white interview letter.

Yeah I did sign for e-mail and texts updates. But nothing since update that they sent my biometric appointment letter...

I filled out and sent the form to receive email and mobile updates together with my application, but never received any. I had to log in to my account (had already created one for previous immigration applications) and add the alerts from there. I am sure you have already checked your status online though. Have you checked the process time for your field office? Maybe it is one of the busier/slower offices....

Ok, thanks. Let's hope Oakland is not as busy I used to live in Hollywood on Ocean Dr. but I'm in Boca now. The drive is still ok, since I work not far from there. I try to avoid Miami as much as I can

Hi Hoppla!

I am not changing my name. I was going to do that (my first name is Jelena with J silent, I was called Dzilina, Dziliana, Helena,...) and drop J but I have too many documents to change if I change it, too much hassle.

Maybe they changed field office to Oarkland because they are not as busy as in Miami or West Palm Beach. I live by Hollywood so Miami would be closer but Oakland is an easier drive so it actually works better for me. It feels good to see some movement.

May I ask if you are changing your name legally with your application? I am asking because I am, and I got my biometrics app. for Oakland Park as well and I normally go to West Palm Beach. I was wondering why and thought maybe it is because that is the one place where they have a judge doing the oath ceremony...?

I'm guessing it will be faster than Miami, and fo my sake, hopefully not slower than West Palm.

Received my NOA today, dated Feb 20 (Priority date Feb 18). I never got an email or txt even though I filled out that form, but I went online and it said that they mailed my biometrics appointment today

My check was cashed today. Finally moving on after the USPS mishap. Yay! Happy Friday everyone!

My package was supposed to be delivered yesterday. I have checked usps.com and it has not been updated since Feb 9. I tried to call but it is impossible to be connected to a human being and the automated system tells me the same as the website. I sent it certified so I have the tracking number etc. I know the weather has been bad in the Dallas area but not that bad that it should be impacting the postal service. Grrr....

Oh no, I don't think I wrote my A# on the back of the check. Oh well...they have always cashed them before, I guess I will just have to wait and see.

Never assume USCIS has access to your whole file....or so they say :-) So always better to send more than less, in my experience!

I know better than to assume anything when it comes to them In the instructions for N-400 it states what "evidence" you need to send though and one option was to only send 3 years of tax return transcripts. I am sending the birth certificate for our baby who was born 4 months ago and maybe the copy of our lease in addition to that, both strong evidence. But like I said, you don't have to do what I do and I agree, it never hurts to send more.

I was only going to send tax return transcripts, copy of birth certificate for our daughter (born in 2013) and maybe a copy of our lease.

They are not asking for much evidence in the instructions, actually according to it 3 years of tax returns should be enough. I feel like that they got all they needed during the filing for ROC, which in my case was last year. You never know with USCIS though, might be better to send more than what I'm sending.

Thanks for your replies. I will try to remember every group, association, organization etc. that I have been a member in. It does say 'ever' and not the last 5 years or since you became a permanent resident, that is what I find difficult. I have not been a part of any political organizations but the statement covers more or less any groups there are so it is hard to know where to draw the line.
