  1. Sure - you can file for DCF - no need to use the NY address when filing.

When you have been approved (on the I-130) via DCF, contact USCIS and cancel THE FIRST I-130 petition.

If all seems too confusing for now, for today, get into the US Embassy in the D.R., talk to a ConOff face to face, prior to doing anything else, about the DCF process in D.R.

    Good Luck !

Thanks for the idea, but today I went to the consular page for my country on VJ and it says that they don´t allow DCF so I guess this is the right path for now. I do have an appointment for consular birth report for my daughter in a couple of weeks so I might ask a ConOff there if it´s not too late.

  4. Hello,

My husband and I have been married for over 6 years and have been happily living in the Dominican Republic since we married. We have now decided to move to US so we filed i130 on the 15 of april and decided to send the documents from NY instead of direct filing with the embassy here since we were told that it would be fastest to do it this way. Now I see here that DCF is actually the fastest way and of course I regret not doing it this way, my question is if this would cause me any trouble or delay since I am living in DR but used my NY mailing address to file my papers. Any comment would be highly appreciatted, thanks.
