Well I am not an expert on this, but from your post it sounds like you are in UK for atleast past 6 months. If that is the case you maybe able to do a Direct Counsalar Filling. That should not seperate you guys. DCF usually goes really fast. I think less than 2 months. But like I said I am a total newbie in this whole thing also.
Somebody can correct me on this If I am wrong.
But don't loose hope. We got tons of real experienced people here ready to help you.

My NOA2 was dated June 28th, and I got the hard copy on the 2nd. I called the NVC today and they didn't have any record of our file. She told me to call back on the 15th, but I will probably try again on Friday.

Our case got approved on 6/28, received the hard copy on 7/1.
I called NVC few hours ago, but the operator told me they don't have our case yet

My petition was approved on the 25th of June, recieved hardcopy NOA2 on June 3rd, but still nothing from the NVC. I have also called three times, and I even called that dos number you listed about 30 minutes ago and I also got a very nice operator who was helpful. They said they still don't have record of my petition so they were unable to give me the new case#. VSC is going fast, but are there now issues with the NVC? hmmmm....makine me a little worried. I just hope it was not lost in the mail.
