  1. Salamu alekum brother, I have the same situation like yours, I would like to know how did you end the birth certificate issue. Did they accept the affidavit of birth certificate. mahadsanid

Yes, we sent an affidavit letter explaining my wife lost her certificate when she was fleeing war in Somalia. They accepted it and proceeded with the application. Good luck.
  2. My wife had AOS interview couple of days ago, and the agent recommended her for approval, he gave her a letter stating that too.

Now the case status changed to:

    Decision

On December 23, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Is this the same decision as the interview? Or something different?

Hoping she gets green card in the mail soon.

    Thanks

  3. Still no NOA-2.

    But...

I have my adjustment status interview appointment set:

On November 20, 2013, we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for December 23, 2013. Please follow the instructions on the notice. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

  4. Status changed today to:

    Woot!

  5. Same thing happened here. The 1-130 is still at acceptance. Our EAD and AP are still on initial review. No letter in the mail yet.I called USCIS they said am in the line to get an interview so am hoping they have set a date.As for my AP i need it in the next to weeks.Scheduled an infopass to ask for it.Hope luck is on our side

    Thanks for feedback.

I had my wife's EAD was approved 5 days ago but in card production stage, and her I-485 is now interviewing stage. It just seems that those dates are so close together, that it was pointless to approve EAD few days before interviewing stage. The EAD card may not arrive until after the interview.

Either way, I'm very excited with this progress. :)

  6. If you filed form I-131 with I-485 and I-765, then yes you did apply for advance parole, and yes the EAD card will serve as AP.

So I'm a bit confused, you said no you didn't apply for AP, but then you said yes you did file I-131.

Actually I applied I-130 separetly, and while it was still pending, I applied for I-485.

On my I-485 application, I included a copy of my my pending I-130 application notice and a new EAD application. This is considered a concurrent filing also, since my I-130 application is not yet approved. No AP application was filed at all.

But under the new guidelines, I-485 and I-130/I-131 concurrent filers who filed for EAD would automatically get the new EAD cards that has the "Serves as AP" feature on it.

Unless I completely got the above wrong.

  7. I may add... To qualify for the combined benefits:

You need to file an Application for Employment Authorization, Form I-765, and an Application for Travel Document, Form I-131, concurrently with or after filing an Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Form I-485. You must file the Forms I-765 and I-131 at the same time in order to receive an EAD and Advance Parole card. Please ensure that you enter your name and address identically on Forms I-765 and I-131 that you file concurrently in order to receive the new card.

    That's exactly what I did.

  8. Did you apply for advance parole?

    No.

But I read on USCIS website the following:

The new EAD card will include text that reads, "Serves as I-512 Advance Parole". A card with this text will serve as both an employment authorization and Advance Parole document.

To me, It sounded like the combined the benefits into 1 card? no? Should I have filed it separately?

This is the link from the USCIS page:

  9. Card/ Document Production

On November 9, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

I'm guessing the card is also advanced parole card... Which can be used for re-entry into the US?

    Thanks

  10. This is the latest update on my wife I-130:

    Initial Review

On October 4, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

    What could this mean?

    Thanks

  11. A few members have reported getting that same message. I'm not sure what it means, but some of those members received NOA2 shortly after. Good luck!

Question; on your NOA1 hard copy did it say Overland Park? Are you saying it now says somewhere your petition is being processed at Lee's Summit?

    No.

The I-485 is being processed at Lee Summit for sure. But I attached the NOA-1 from my I-130 with the application. I'm assuming they might be reviewing both applications concurrently?

  12. I just randomly check my wife's I-130 case status today, and we found new information posted:

What do you guys make out of this? Granted I filed I-485 four months after the I-130 was filed.

    Thanks
