  1. Dear Vj's,

Hope you guys can help me as I presume someone of you might have been caught in a situation like us.

We called NVC couple of weeks back and they stated to us that they have received our both the packets I864 and DS230 on 29 November and now it is under process.

BUt unfortunately, we received a letter from NVC that they have still not received our DS230.... we are quite surprised and shocked.

Please any one can help.... Shall we send the entire documents again or shall I cll them up or we have received this email by mistake.

    Regards

The NVC took about 10-15 days to put your documents in the system.Mine was received on November 18 and they got into the system on Nov 30. Give them a few days. Good Luck.

  2. We stayed at the Grand Holiday Hotel across from the Hotel Accra in Nairobi. It is about 20 mins from the Embassy. The hotel is very affordable. I believe about $30 day. Lodging is fair enough. There are really good staff there and convienently located. A girl named Anne who works there was amazing in making the accomodation good. We stayed there for 2 weeks. There are nicer hotels there but considering the expenses we had, chances weren't taken to spend alot on lodging (i.e. medical costs, food, taxis, 2 airline tickets to US, etc.).

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks a lot

  3. Hello VJ members.

Im in the K-1 process so far I still wait for my NOA2 ,but I´m slowly getting togther the froms and information.

MY questions is towards the police certificate. I´m from Germany, wher and how I get that police certificate I know. But on the NVC page it says you have to provide a police certificate from all places you lived longer than 6 month after the age of 16.

I lived all my life in Germany except for 2 years where I was an Au-pair in the US. Do I have to get a police certificate from New Jersey now as well? I read somewhere that if u lived in the the states even longer than 1 year you don´t need one.

Can anybody help me with this issue? Anybody who faced the same problem?

    Any help is appiciated

You do not need Police Clearance from US.All the best.

  4. hi,

i am a german spouse, married to us citizen and living in the states, we like to file for AOS, but they ask for my devorce degree. In Germany we have on our marriage certificates also a place where a devorce can get written on if so....thats what i have...now my question do i need still an extra devorce degree or is that proof enough for the uscis....and for example i forget to put a paper in do they send it back to me and charge me the fee again or do i get a note to correct that....

    thank you for help....

Your marriage certificate with annotation divorce pronounced is okay for USCIS.

  5. I am confused... you talk about the NVC, but post in the DCF forum, which doesn't include NVC processing, and your profile states you are doing AOS?

It's difficult to advice due to the above, but I would contact the USC's elected representatives (Congressman, Senator) to see if they can get things moving, and maybe see if you can find contact details for the State Department, who presumably keeps those websites "current"; is the US embassy in your country willing to help? Maybe if the Ambassador contacts the NVC/ relevant department directly to advice them of their error?

Thanks for your advice. I joined this forum while I was trying to adjust my status in US but I was forced to do Consular processing since I cannot adjust my status in US.

  6. Got a 3rd RFE and the NVC did not accept for the Second time my Police Clearance and my marriage termination documents issued by the appropriate Authority. My marriage termination document was accepted by USCIS when they approved my I 130 and the Office which delivers Police Clearance even wrote an statement about the authenticity of my Police Clearance. What should I do? I would appreciate any suggestion. Thanks.

  7. hi everyone,I hope someone can help me this situation.before I receive an e-mail from the nvc on the checklist that was missing on my document.I called the auto message and told me that they have review my case and they found a missing document.so when I call back during office hour to speak with an nvc operator. She told me what was the missing document that needed to be send. And so I went ahead and mail it that day using the document cover sheet on IV application and the same address. But here I am.I found it to late after I send my document my marriage certificate that they send the checklist with a document cover sheet attach to it.

so I try to speak with the operator but just said to wait for a wk or 2 to confirm.

I just hoping that someone is in the same shoes I have that know what to do and is this going to be a problem ,and is it going to delay my application..thanks

I sent my documents without the cover sheet and all my documents got lost. I was forced to resend all documents again. It is wise to get another certified copy of your marriage license ready and send it now with your checklist cover sheet and the letter too.Otherwise this might cause much delay to your case. Mine has been delayed for nearly 3 months.

  8. Thanks for the information. Just a followup. If her visa is valid, does she have to show non immigrant intent to visit at US port of entry

My visitor visa expires in 2015 but I have been told by my US lawyer and also by the USCIS officer before leaving US for consular processing that I might be denied entry in US while my case is being processed. If your mother in law is in US , it is better to adjust her status while in US instead of going back and wait till her visa is approved to come back.Hope this might help.

  9. MrsRowe, when did NVC assign the case number? Did you call them and give the email address already?

Indigoskies, shouldn't we wait for NVC to generate the DS-3032 and AOS fee bill on their system? Yesterday an operator told me that DS-3032 form should be generated on their system before sending it to them otherwise they may not attach it to our case file.

I am really confuse. Some people say we must wait for NVC to generate the form or fee bill in their system before we send it to them.

NVC assigned me a case number on 10/15/10 and I called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses yesterday morning and waiting for them to send me the AOS fee bill and DS-3032. I have already prepared DS-3032 (signed by beneficiary) 5 months ago :-)

You need to wait for the DS 3032 and AOS fee bill generated by the NVC because it has the bar code attached to your case. I made this silly mistake and I send the DS 230 and my documents before receiving the bar code and all my documents were lost and I have to resubmit again all these documents and this is causing much delay to my case processing. Hope this might help.

  10. well everything is based on HOW much the school cost.. so you would have to find out how much the total of the school fee would be for the study period. I dont think anyone can give you an answer to this question. The decision is up to the local embassy (home country). if the person is here then he/she Must trave. back.. because there is a interview requirement.

You have to check I 20 form from the school to find out about the income requirement.Since students can work part time, most of the time the income requirements covers about 2 years of the tuition fees. Most students need also a school insurance. My daughter was sponsored by a US family and her school insurance covers most health care expenses.Hope this might help.

  11. Hi, we prepared for the NVC process a long time ago by getting a marriage certificate, a police certificate, and a birth certificate. Just wondering if NVC cares about the dates of these documents, seeing as we requested them a few months ago, they will probably be 6 months old by the time NVC wants them, is this a problem?

Thanks for any help, and good luck to all, regards.

You will need a new police clearance. I sent one which was dated 2 months before I sent it and I got a RFE requesting a new police clearance. Hope this might help. Good luck.

  12. ummm... probably his passport or Naturalization certificate

I quote this from my checklist response:

If it is impossible to obtain an original document or a certified copy of the original document because records have been destroyed or the appropriate government authority will not issue one, you should obtain a certified statement from the appropriate government authority stating the reason your record is not available. May be this might help.

  13. Hi all, just want to know do the USC need to bring his/her birth certificate as well? I am an USC by naturalization, now i'm sponsoring my wife to get her green card, I got my green card like 15 years ago, and I don't have birth certifcate...is it a big deal? or can i just bring my naturalization citizenship paper, passport?

    Thanks

You will need your birth certificate to sponsor your wife. It is better to reapply for one now from your country.Good luck.

  14. I also forgot to write my parent case number of each document, do you think is this going to be ok? bc its take forever for my parent to request all new original document and send them to the USA like birth certificate, marriage cert. etc.. this is very frustrated!! can't wait to get over this.

    Thanks again

I made the same mistake I forgot to write my case number on all the documents and I got an RFE and I was forced to resubmit all the documents including the DS 230.So, it is better to have certified copies of all civil documents handy. I did reapply for a police clearance again.
