  1. I decided to do a walk-in biometrics tomorrow morning instead of waiting till 5/11

What did you guys have to bring with you? My friend just told me that I had to bring all the originals with me. is that true?

is there anything else i should be prepared for?

    Thanks

I completed my walk in biometrics last Friday (23rd april, Des Moines office) the day after receiving the appointment notice scheduled for May 17th.

I took the biometrics appointment notice I got in the mail, as well as my NOA's for receipt of I-465/I-765.

There was no problem whatsoever, I just handed them the paperwork and told them i was there to do my biometrics, and filled out a form, and within 15 minutes fingerprinting/picture taking was done (there was nobody else waiting).

    good luck!

  2. So it appears that my GC will be arriving with my maiden name. That is if it really arrives as expected, considering the problems I have had. I don't want to file a I-90 just to change the name since it is a conditional GC, so I was wondering if I can still get my SSN with married name, and a new Driver's licence, etc. by showing them the marriage certificate. I really would like to have the same name as my husband already. Besides I have been applying for jobs with my married name.

I went to the DMV and was able to get a new driver's licence by showing them a certified copy of my Marriage Licence.

When i went to the Social Security office, however, they would not update my records to show my new name since I had not recieved my EAD yet.

  3. I was wondering if anybody has a similar situation as mine.

I was admitted as an F1 but 1 year before my I-20 and Visa expired I fell out of status.

I also worked unauthorized for a year.

Its 2 years later and I'm married to a US citizen and we filed to adjust my status.

I've been reading on most of these forums that unauthorized work/being out of status is forgiven if AOS is due to marriage to a USC, but has anybody on this forum actually BEEN in this situation?

If so what was your AOS interview like?

Did the interviewing officer even mention the previous F1 violation?/unauthorized work?

    Thanks for your replies.

  5. If you mailed it last Tuesday, then it was probably April 6th and not March 6th.

The E-Notification usually takes about 8-10 days following delivery. So if it was delivered on the April 9th, I would anticipate the NOA arriving around April 17th to April 19th. The hard NOAs arrive within 3 days after they send you the email.

sorry, I meant April 6th. thanks for your reply.

  6. Hi everyone! I'm new to this board.

I came to the US on an F1 visa and am now adjusting due to marriage to USC.

I sent my complete AOS package by priority mail last Tuesday (March 6th) , so it should have arrived by Friday.

    I requested E-notification however I haven't received a receipt email yet!

for anyone else who has done this, how long does it usually take just to receive a notice that they got it?
