I went to the Bio appt on Thursday. Everything went well!
-
Was so busy I forgot to update. I got the biometrics letter and it's scheduled for 06/28.
-
Got NOA today! It's dated 5/16, though. The postmark says 6/4 LOL NICE TRY USCIS.
-
The check got cashed today!
-
In ID I had to wait until my EAD came, and my green card came in the mail like a week later. If you need it for getting the marriage certificate usually you can get the certificate by throwing every ID she does have at the clerk and hope they'll take it.
-
I'm quite worried...we sent the packed on the 14th! No NOA or check cashed. :/ I looked over the copy of our package for any errors but everything looks ok...
-
Still no NOA or check cashed..getting a bit antsy!
-
Hopping on the bandwagon:
our window opened on 04/23
we sent it off 05/14
it just got there today!

I'm just checking in with everyone! Congrats! I'll probably see you in 2 years.

I went to the SS office to get my card, and the officer guy was super nice! He was all amazed at the new card design. I told him I have a job offer and he said he'd call me monday to let me know if my number was ready!
-
Got my green card yesterday! Now to start the insane paperworking of everything else...
-
Congratulations on the job!!
Thanks!

I've got questions! I just got offered a job. I have my EAD, but I chose not to get a SSN until the gc arrived (we got the approval of 1485 notice already). If I go get a ssn with the ead, can I use it with the green card? How long do ssns typically take to get in a mailbox?

What do you mean, he has been back and forth? If he's been here longer than 6 months, he needs to not go out of the US because then he incurs a ban. That said, it can be done.
Does he have a border crossing card, or just a regular B1 visa?
-
My IO told me that when I got the EAD I cut it up with scissors or bring it to the office so they could destroy it for me. I'm gonna take it to them, the office's only 5 minutes from home
Also, the stuff on the USCIS website is not working for me, as my EAD is still on the second notice (when I have it on hand) and my i-485 is still on initial review even though I got the welcome letter today.
-
I got my welcome letter too! Well, to my parents'. I thought we had changed addresses but USCIS is oblivious. How long until we get the card?
-
Thanks, Scientist! I guess it goes to show that intent really is a small thing nowadays. I mean, I did not have intent, but I figured I would have to prove it.
Hahaha, the section the doctor missed filling out was on my mental health? Coincidence? I think not!
LOL, congrats!

Congrats, cbrniner!
Also ####### I GOT MY EAD IN THE MAIL. I *just* checked the USCIS website and they still say they ordered production of it. So I never got the 3rd notice. It's nice and has LOTS of letter everywhere. I look kind of cute on the card.

I kind of want to call to see if they tell me anything different from the website. Would i have to speak to a human, though? Also which number do I call?
-
I'm a little worried because I haven't gotten any touches on anything at all, not even the EAD.

Alright boys and girls.. almost time to wake hubby up (he worked night shift last night, poor thing..)
We'll be leaving at noon. Going to try to get there an hour early.
Wish us luck!!
Mrs. Foster, meijie, & chrissen hope you all have a good interview today!!
Lots of luck!

Thanks!
I'm fluent in Swedish, English, Spanish & Norwegian. I used to be fluent in French but have forgotten sooo much bc I never use it, I understand and can read German, Danish and most Portuguese and used to be able to speak Portuguese, Indonesian and a little Greek. I traveled a lot when I lived in Europe and always tried to pick up the language (hardest one so far was Thai, didn't get further than a few greetings) but since I moved here over 4 years ago I haven't been able to afford any travels to other countries It is sad how fast you forget when you don't use it.
What languages do you speak?
Holy cow, how did you learn them?! That's so impressive!

Don't worry, I came here on a B1-B2 and we couldn't add our name to ANYTHING, the only thing we had with both of our names in it was the lease for our apartment. We just told the interviewer that we couldn't add me to anything and he said it was ok. Just make sure you have other proof like photos and stuff.
