Can confirm, case updates on Uscis.gov don't seem to happen at the biometrics stage. Janna just completed her biometrics today and the case is still stuck on "Case was received."

Should see some movement once NBC forwards packet to our local office.

Also, you can get free study materials and a DVD to help you prepare for the interview. If you're not offered, just ask for it.

Daisy's still does not show up on the USCIS tracker. LOL We should be getting the I797 in a few days, so we will see what that says.

Maybe its just taking USCIS a little longer to get their ducks in a row since you submitted biometrics with the N400? Or an error in the email notification? Hopefully its all cleared up shortly.

Ya, upper case, lower case, copy and paste. Nothing is working for me. LOL I'll keep trying over the next few days. If it doesn't come up by COB Monday west coast, I'll call them to verify.

I wonder why ours isn't yet.... The K1 and AOS was trackable immediately.

I was just testing something (but couldn't replicate the issue I had). When I first entered the case number (on the day the email came, I misspoke, email came first), I used lower case letters, so: nbc*XXXXXXX... this returned no results.

It may have been later in the day where I entered in exactly as given in the email: NBC*XXXXXXXX. It was definitely the same day, but perhaps a few hour after receipt that it worked this way.

Are you asking what the point of reporting it is in the timeline, or asking why does USCIS sent NOA dates?

For our purposes it's to collect and build on a baseline of data for the time it takes for various lockboxes to verify receipt of packages. Helps to build on the estimates it takes for the various checkpoints through the naturalization process.

Other than that, it's legal documentation that USCIS has received your paperwork and you have entered the naturalization process.

Does everyone's case show up on USCIS.GOV? Ours does not yet.

Ours was trackable on uscis.gov the day we received the text.

We're in the same timeline situation as you.

I've read examples of both scenarios. Some say the 5-year method is a little quicker, or at least there is less to prove in the interview. Then again, there was another scenario of someone who filed under 3-year and had the interviewer switch it to 5-years so it was less paperwork.

In the end, if you have all the proof anyways, it's not going to matter much.

We ended up filing under 3-year, but it wasn't a conscious choice of either/or. I filled out this paper work last fall, but we ended up postponing submission because of a few travel plans that came up. At the time, 3-years was our only option. It was only after submitting our packet this month did I realize the 5-year mark was passed a couple weeks earlier

Update on my details as well. for some reason they charged my card, however it took 5 days to process the payment because my bank was expecting a resonse from the merchant. Whatever that means. I definitely had enough funds, so that could not have been the problem.

So, in the end the charge got finalized on 4/15.

Truly wonder, it seems that it was a lot quicker for all of you to have your CC payment processed. Took two full work weeks for mine now. Delivered Monday last week, finalized yesterday night. I hope that is not a sign for the wait to come.

I should have a cut and dry case.... married a USC, still married to the same man, two kids, same home since 8 years, same employer since 8 years, no convictions. Worst thing I ever done with law enforcement was rushing them nicely to process work related paperwork.

I think I misread you question. Are you asking why it took so long for USCIS to process you payment. If I understand correctly, you paper work was delivered 4/4, CC charged 4/11, payment cleared 4/15.

Since we had different delivery dates, but the same CC charge date, I'm guessing USCIS processes payments once a week, on Monday.

My two cents, but they may be worthless.

Is the date on your CC statement 4/11 or 4/15?

What I've posted in my listing is the date the charge was initiated, 4/11. The charge was pending until being cleared sometime on the afternoon of 4/13. However, the original charge date remained on the statement, which is usually the case in my experience.

I'll share our scenario, if it helps.

4/8 Our package was delivered

4/11 Received an email notification with case number, credit card was charged

4/13 Received text with similar notification as email

I corrected our dates. Not bad, the USCIS received Daisy's packet Thursday. 2 Days from South Korea by USPS Express Mail. I'm shocked. LOL

Hi everyone! After accidentally posting in the March filers first, I'd like to greet evryone here in April. I hope we are all in for a smooth and fast process!

GC 3/2007. N400 sent via USPS to Lewisville/ Dallas, TX on 4/1, delivered 4/4. CC got charged 4/12. No NoA as of yet, but hoping it'll arrive any day now. My field office is Fairfax County, VA.

Dang! I just mailed my packet. I read till August they will still accept the same form. I will bring everything else to the interview if they want more, you never know. Don't want to be in RFE queue.
