  1. I am sorry to hear that!

I got married here in Colombia the 7th November, and I was complaining to my hubby cus he didnt start the process till May :( I think we both couples started this too late so we are in the USCIS bad times of approvals, kind of too late though,

I know my interview wont be schedule for this year cus NVC is slow too, it has to happen a miracle if I am with my hubby on Christmas, :(

why isnt your hubby allowed In the country?? my hubby is the petitioner he is form usa, and he can come often, also cus tickets are not that expensive. you know in comparison with europe tickets, those into the same continent are not that bad ...

we havent booked ticket for the interview yet, with this slow down we dont even know if I will be there in February or March, our consulate in Colombia lasts 2 or 3 months to give interview, so you can imagine :(

hope you get the noa2 soon cus this sucks

He's not allowed in the country without a visa. And all visas to enter the US from the Dominican Republic take about this long, so, we just went for the one we really wanted.

We got married in the Dominican Republic in October but didn't file our paperwork until end of March. His brother just entered the US on a fiance visa about 2 months ago (their entire process took about 7.5 months). So, based on that, I don't think there will be any issues with our application, but it is just taking a lot longer than I can stand.

I'm still trying to figure out if I can file my taxes as married even if he's not here by Dec 31st since we've been married since 2009. I had to file 2009 as single. Sucks...

DR takes about 2 - 3 months to schedule the interview too (and it seems as though everyone in DR takes the month of December off). So, if we don't get our approval by next week, I think we're looking more at a Jan or Feb interview date. That stinks too. In the 3 years we've been together, we've never spent Christmas together.

I'm just venting today. Sorry everyone. Just really annoyed about the whole thing. I wish everyone the best of luck and the shortest wait imaginable!

  2. there is another thing I noticed when I enter my case # and hit ok displays only four blue buttons, (Acceptance,Initial Review,Decision,Post Decision Activity) no other buttons specialy

no Request for Evidence button, have you guys see this or is just me ??

I noticed that about a month ago. It used to have 6 blue bubbles but now only has 4. Maybe that means that there is some initial review when the apps are sent (on first touch) and any Request for evidence would have been sent then. So, now it's just yes or no....

That's my guess. Which means, if you're a stand up citizen, not trying to trick the system, you should be fine.

Again, that's just my guess. But, prior to a month ago, it had 6 blue bubbles, and since has only 4....which gives me hope that the process is coming to an end.

  3. they expedited the case cus his mom's health issues :(

but the other one i am not sure if it was expedited . their NOA 2 was 12 of april.. I hope not It will give us all hope :)

I am tired of waiting and my hubby too!!

He's coming next saturday, though. but it kills me everytime he has to leave me again :)

At least your hubby can visit. My hubby isn't even allowed in the country. He's never been to the US. We have NOA 1 April 9th, and based on this thread, I've booked a trip for our anniversary (oct 24th) thinking that our interview won't happen until December or January (instead of Oct as we hoped).

It sucks. We just bought a house and it would save us sooooo much money to be in the same place. But, I guess this is life....I guess....is this life?

I just hope we don't get screwed with an interview date the week after our anniversary trip. I'm not sure how we'd afford that. We'd have to push our interview date back a month if that happens.

  4. USCIS website lets you set up an account to keep track of your case. You can also setup email alerts and mobile text for when activity happens to your case. They don't email or send alerts for touches. Alerts only go out for status changes. I login every once and awhile and to my surprise my case was last updated on August 12 but no status change which basically means it was accessed or touched. A relative of a friend has told me that April cases are starting to get some movement finally.

Okay. Well, my app was last touched on July 8th, because I did a change of address form online. But, my NOA 1 date is April 9th and my app hasn't been touched since July 8th. But I see people on here with NOA 1 dates after mine (California Service Center?) who have gotten touches.

Okay, I wasn't sure if there was some separate type of notification. Yes, I have an account that I check about every 3 - 4 days.

UGH! This waiting is excruciating! I've already given up on our Visa being issued in October or November. Now I'm hoping for December 31st so I can file my taxes as married.

Or, does it not matter if my husband is here by Dec 31st, as long as we were married prior to Dec 31st and he's here by the time I file my taxes? Hmmm...I'm going to call the IRS tomorrow.

  5. I mailed my app on March 31, 2010, it was received on April 2. I have a notice date of April 9, and I actually received my Case # and NOA1 today April 15th.

My question is this... the return address on the envelope indicates the California Service Center. Does that mean that they have my application? (I ask because it appears that due to my location I should fall under the Vermont Service Center.

Does the return address really mean anything? Or might my application actually be in Vermont?

    k.
