  1. Hey,everyone, long time no chat :) We got married and it was the most magical day.I hope everyone experiences all the love and excitement we did.Now of course we are looking to start the adjustment of status process.I checked the guide on visajourney and now I have a couple of questions.First of it's a little confusing which forms exactly we need to complete.Second it's $1010 right?Do we need to spend extra $340 for the employment authorisation?Doesn't it come along with the adjustment? Also how long does it usually take?If we send the docs tomorrow when will I be able to start work?I really need someone to walk us through that, because I want to make sure we won't get RFE this time. Not mentioning I haven't been working for over two months now and I really miss it too :) When and how do we change my name as I am willing to take his last name. Also on the guide tips BE SURE TO USE CODE ©(9) FOR A 1-YEAR EAD CARD (when filing concurrently with I-485)!!! what does that mean?Do I need to fill out I-765 and I-131 and G-1145 ??? I need some help please!!!What exactly do we send? What not to miss? How long is the wait?

    Thank you!

  2. Hello, everyone. So now that we have the visa approved, even thought DHL are not as fast as I wish, meaning I still haven't received my passport back,we are looking to book flight for me.The most convinient for me is for Philadelphia since the airport is 2 hour drive from my fiance's.However the tricky part is that there are two stops. One is from Bulgaria to Poland with one hour stay in Poland which is ok.The other one is at the Chicago Int airport and there is 1hr and 50min wait till the next flight to Phl.Now my question is will this time be enough for me to go through Immigrations????I mean I'm worried I'll miss the flight to Phl :((( The change is at 9.30pm and I have no clue how long it will take for the Immi's to check me.What do you think?Any advice will be appriciated :)

  3. A quick question here.My fiance filled out the I-134 form. The good news is he makes enough money to support us etc. However we did a stupid mistake. On the part where it says how much money you have in your savings account we put $5000.Now that we checked,he actually as $3300.Would that be a huge problem? Can they check at all his bank account assests or his annual income is the important part.He provided his last payslips, tax returns and a letter from employer.Should we go on with this form or complete a new one?

    thanks in advance

  4. Ok,again, this might sound weird, but we never received any notification until I got Packet 3 from the US embassy here(I am the beneficiary). When my fiance called the hotline and explained the situation he was transfered to a supervisor. The lady told him the petition was approved on 06.25.When we finally got the posted NOA 2 it was 07.12 so we never knew the date when the case went to NVC or anything. However what's weird is on the website of USCIS the status never changed. It still shows they received the RFE on 06.09 and we should wait for a response. It didn't change even after my fiance and was advised by a supervisor the petition was approved,in fact at first when he called the regular customer service told him what's on the website. So I'm wondering should he call them again and ask them to updated our case online so we can keep track of it or should we leave it like that. It's just really weird I think.Since it's an electronic system and every "touch" is supposed to show when they scan your case ...

    Any advice ?

    thanks

  5. You do need it in the future when filing AOS.

Call USCIS and explain you never received the NOA2. They'll try to tell you you have to pay for another copy (it's very expensive) but don't accept that. Ask to speak to a supervisor and explain you didn't receive the NOA2. You should not have to pay for a replacement if you never received it in the first place.

Well my fiance called the USCIS and they told him he has to wait for 30days before he can get a duplicate. They also told him he can not get it without paying the fee.I don't understand that. It's not like he had it and lost it.In fact they are the one who never notified us in any way...I don't know what to do.$340 for a duplicate you never received on the first place???What should he say,who should we talk to??

  6. Hello again everyone. We didn't know our petition was approved until I got Packet 3 from our Embassy here. The status online still hasn't changed and when my fiance called the USCIS they confirmed the petition has been approved on 06.25 and thats when they say the NOA2 was posted. Now what are the chances that it still hasn't arrived because of the post??After all last time the sent the RFE to us it took a week to get it,same for NOA1.Also as it is not required for the interview I will go without it,but will I need it in the future???A member here mentioned I will need the NOA2 piece if paper when I apply for AOS.I don't really feel like paying $340 for a duplicate I might not need at all...What do we do,any ideas?

    thanks everyone :)

    and good luck :)

  7. wow congrats to you! so somethings happen really unexpected...would like to ask how long from rfe did you received the approval?

They received it on 06.09 it said on the website.Since we never got the actual NOA2 by e-mail or paper we know now from the customer service over the phone that it has been approved and sent to us on 06.25.As far as I have made my research on RFE-NOA2 timing ususally it's about a month waiting.I hope this helps :)

  8. You definitely need the NOA2 for AOS process later on. Please call USCIS asap if you never received the NOA2. Hopefully they could resend you a new one.

Otherwise you have to file I-824 form for a duplicate copy which cost $340! According to the USCIS Processing Time Information, it takes about 3 months to process I-824.

$340???Really??and 3months to wait for it???I don't get that do I really really need it then? Why is it so expensive to get the duplicate???I mean once the visa is approved what to they care about the NOA2?And how do we make the post office find it.My fiance moved on 06.30 but there is no letter from USCIS or NVC to neither his old or new address!!!This is crazy. So now I can't be plain happy,I need to worry about this piece of paper :(

If anyone knows what to do any advice would be appreciated.

  9. Ok everyone,we got approved!!!I believe we never got the NOA2 because my fiance moved on 06.30 and it's been posted 06.25 so he'll be meeting his previous landlord today for the post. However what I'm trying to say is how we found out-through the US embassy who contacted me.We missed the whole process with sending the stuff to NVC since our online status never changed.Yesterday when I got the letter from the post here in Bulgaria my fiance called the USCIS and the regular customer service still told him whats on the website that they have received our RFE.Finally when he was transferred to higher level they told him the petition was approved on 06.25 !!!!!!!!!!!

A quick question, hopefully we won't need but, what if the NOA2 got lost?Is there a fine you have to pay and how long do you have to wait for a new one??And is it tremendously important to have it anyway???Oh and please advise what would he have to send me now.Exactly what documents so we won't miss something this time!!!!

Thank you all for the support and good luck :)

Oh and check your post!!!Sometimes things don't turn out the way you expect them too,but better :)))

  10. Hello, everyone.I don't even know where to start from.We filed in March, got RFE on 05.28.The status on the website hasn't changed since 06.09 stating they received our response for RFE.Today I received by the post a letter from the US embassy in Sofia stating the petition has been approved and they can start the process for the visa.We never got NOA 2 or any notification ever, not on the website or by the post we never knew if the petition was ever sent to the NVC or anything.I don't know what to do or think???Is that even possible?Does that really mean we have been approved???Can I be happy now? What should we do about the NOA2??? Has anyone ever had such experience?Any advice??

    thank you

  11. When people say "touched" do they mean *Last updated on My portfolio on the USCIS website. Also I have noticed that once the case is touched it is usually approved in a couple of days.Am I wrong?I believe that the reason why we have last update is because we did online change of address.Still its been a month since they have received our RFE...Noone with an RFE has been approved recently,I'm starting to be impatient again, even though I shouldn't be.Is there anyone who have recently spoken to someone in the VSC with any news whatsoever???

    thanks and good luck :)

  12. WOW!

I am very sorry to hear about your experience. I just wish there was a special place we could stick all the attorneys like this one. Some island sourrounded by shark infested waters...

Anyway, I considered hiring an attorney before beginning this process also. I spoke to literly a dozen or so, and got so much diferent advise that it made me absolutely terified about this process.. The attorney made it seem impossible and complicated. I learned about VJ from a friend in Colombia, and started to read about the process and learned that it wasn't nearly as complex as the attorneys tried to make me believe.

There must be consequences for low-life attorneys such as yours.. Dis-barment is too kind.. I am thinking something more like jail time with convicted murderers.. some of these attorneys are simply scum..

I'm sorry for not being on the topic. But I saw you got the same RFE we did.Did you just send the piece of paper you received with the answer on it or did you send the I-129F form all over again?

    Thanks

  13. We had an RFE for that exactly. They send you the I-797 piece of paper and there is a space you can just put down on the answer and send it back. You don't need to resend the whole package or even the form.Still its such a pain.knowing its your own fault :) You'll be fine,we're still waiting ourselves.Good luck!
