phoned the IRS and they said that i will be getting a stimulas cheque, but it has not been sent yet. also that it doesnt matter if you dont get a letter you still get a cheque
-
thanks for the link

Looking at the schedule, mine should have been sent out on the 6th, which was Friday. My girlfriend told me that I should have received a letter saying how much my stimulus was. However, I did not receive such a letter. Does that mean that I'm not entitled to a stimulus cheque? I was married to a US citizen, got the divorce papers finalized in April. When I filed my taxes, I filed single at first, then realized sometime after I got my refund that I should have filed married but separate, so I sent in the proper form to change that. Does that exclude me from getting a stimulus as well?
Thanks

i have just been approved for my 10yr resident card but i was approved before i informed them that i was divorced. Now i sent off a waiver I-751 explaing that i am divorced, but i had no clue that i got approved before i sent it off as i had no access to my email at that time
what is going to happen when they get my waiver even though they have approved me?
the way i see it i am being honest with them by telling them i am divorced..in the letter i sent them along with my waiver i even stated that the case was pending as i had no clue it was approved
-
as the topic says, how long does the USCIS keep the files, evidence that people submit?
-
ok so i have been told to amend my i-751.
the evidence they have that i sent off when myself and and my then ex wife when we filed jointly...they have that already in the file so can i just send them my divorce decree and a letter explaining i am amending my petition to just me and not jointly and ask them to add my divorce decree along with a few more bits of evidence to the existing petition?
-
i went to see a lawyer regarding my situation..
i was told that i need to re apply for my lifting of conditions. then i submit the evidence i have and then they will just ammend the petition that is on file or words to that effect. also to write them a letter along with the application, as to why i dont have the documents to submit etc.
-
withdrawing your initial application and re-applying..how do i go about doing that? and surely they would still keep my documents i sent them if i was to re apply??
-
i am seeing a lawyer next week, so i shall see what can be done..the fact that we have had contact whilst the divorce was in process and the fact that i have emails text messeges and instant msgs from her saying things like she loves me etc then thats some real good proof there that the marraige was legit..i have tax forms and marriage license bank staements, and affidavits thats bout it for now
-
we are now divorced..i have the divorce decree in hand. i will have to apply on my own now even though the current (joint) i-751 is still pending..thats why i need the docs back.
-
because as she and her family emptied the house they packeded up everything including the documents and i never got them back
-
when she divorced me she and her family emptied out my house and took ALL my stuff away so thats why i dont have the documents.......
