  1. I know that this might have been discussed already but just cant find the right answers somehow when I try to search for it. Just wanna ask do i have to have my spouse's birth certificate (petitioner) with us on the interview or his US passport will suffice? He was born here in the US and he doesn't have a copy of his birth certificate. :( Thanks!

If you still have time, i think you can still request a certified copy of his birth certificate, just to be sure.

They do not really ask for it, BUT then you never know when they will ask for the BC..There were some reviews by vj members that there are IO that really ask for the BC (original or the certified one, coz the IO thinks that it's easy to obtain a photocopy and it might be a fake BC if its photocopy)..

Although the US Passport is a legal document that proves his citizenship.

BUT I will still recommend that you get a copy of his BC.(coz u might need it in the future too!)

That is just my opinion though, when We had our interview, the IO did not ask for my husband's passport or BC, though he presented his Driver's License. :)

good luck on your upcoming interview!

  2. I have a question regarding the joint sponsor..we have filed for AOS..and we are still waiting. It's just something that i have to clarify.

let's say if our household number is 5,that includes me( the intending immigrant) and my original petitioner's income is short of 5k for 125% above the poverty level for household of 5,i understand we will need to get a joint sponsor..

my question is, will the joint sponsor's income should be nuf for household of 6 or just for 2? (let's assume the joint sponsor doesnt have any dependents)..

  3. :) don't worry..u are not alone.. i have been here for barely 3 months and the boredom is killing me!!(not anymore though)

so what do i do? hehe..i asked my hubby to take me to the library and i would borrow novels..

and yes, i play in facebook a lot(i play cityville now)..(i used to play DOTA way back in Pinas, but i forgot to bring my cd..so im stuck with facebook games). :)

and i spent my sundays in a filipino church.. :) it's nice to talk to our kababayans once in a while..

and i do pilates twice or thrice a week .. :) i think it helps to relax me..:)

  4. awww..

your experience is definitely not a good one..and i just feel sad that things like that happen, or rather,i feel sad that there are Filipinas who do terrible things like that..

    but,it's still a blessing,i guess,that you found out soon enough..right?

at least you can still do something about it..

    Goodluck to you!

  5. is that a typo? $1010! for adjust status? one thousand! why on earth is it so much?

how i wish its just a typo error,,but then its not..and i also don't know WHY is it soo expensive..

$1,010 ($930 plus a biometrics fee of $80...you can actually double check in the USCIS website..

and of course , no additional fee is required to also file an application for employment authorization on Form I-765 and/or advance parole on Form I-131...

  6. Well this happen to someone (white guy) I know in the net also. We were chatting once in a while and he was very excited about someone he met in the Philippines from which I remembered was living in Tagum City.. and he was asking me if I have any idea where the province is. He did told me that the girl was poor (typical story) and he was sending her some money to help. I asked him if he already seen the girl on cam, and he said "No". I thought it was so stupid of him to send some money without actually seeing the girl, and he said that he trust her    . To cut the story short, he shared me the girl's pictures and to my surprised it was Juliana Palermo.. ( a sexy star in the Philippines.)

I simply asked him if the girl was being true to her, and he said he's definitely sure. The guy was being scammed big time so what I did, is I've sent him a link of a website with the same pictures on it. He was really furious and thank me for that..

    ngee!

  7. was only an I-130 ? not the I-485?

Take a copy of the NOA-2 letter on the I-130 case # , submit it with the I-485 to the address listed IN the NOA-1 receipt notice.

Who knows? maybe the 'lawyer' did submit I-130 and I-485 together, maybe he did not.

Darnell, thanks for the reply, really really appreciate it.. :)

oh,that's the thing that we are not sure of,if the lawyer did submitted both forms together..

i guess that you have to submit 'em together or after the I-130 right?

omg! i told my fiance bout your reply, and he is now worried coz he said that the lawyer kept on asking for money from his mom..whew!

so,where does the interview happen? after the submission & approval of the I-130 or of the I-485? or both?? :) how many interviews are there anyway?

( :help: sorry again for being so ignorant about this stuff,we really need information from people who have undergone the same process ,i guess this question has been asked a thousand times)...

  8. H! Guys!

    i'm new with this thing..really.. :)

but this is not about me,its about my fiance's mother.

His mom is already living in the US with them, and they applied an I-130 last November..

what happened is that his mom hired a lawyer to process it..but it seemed that they were not informed of what is happening to the case..

i am trying to help him with this,

is there a page here in VJ that shows a process for that?? hehe..

and now, when we checked in the uscis.gov for the case,it says that, the case was already sent to Harlingen,TX last June 8,2010 and they have to wait for the interview..

    my question is,

who is doing to schedule the interview?

are we going to receive a letter?

    how long will it take?

    what will happen next?

:) im sorry, its just that im clueless about this..

    Thank you guys!!

  9. Ainee! Thanks for asking those questions, I have the same questions in my mind...

it's like after NOA2, now what?? hehehe!

And thanks Tahoma for answering Ainee's question----you answered my questions as well.. :D
