  2. I'm really growing impatient and if I check that website one more time and see no changes I'm going to crazy! My poor hubby is even getting impatient and he's one of the most patient people I know! It's very frustrating. At least send the EAD! He's so ready to go back to work. I really thought things would be better, but this is ATL..! I guess immigration runs like city government.

you will probably receive the IL this week or early next week

  3. I just called to expedite too, and my experience was a bit weird... The lady confirmed my NOA number, filing date, DOB...etc all that normal stuff, and listed the reasons I can use to expedite. I chose financial loss. She then gave me a case number and said someone will contact me in AT LEAST (so what's the most it can take??!!) 5 days and ask for evidence. I asked her if she wants to know more about my situation, cuz all I said to her was "um I choose the financial loss reason", and she said no, and that someone else will contact me.

Weird... Hopefully this doesn't backfire on me. I'd hate to have my case slowed down cuz of this.

Expedite doesn't slow down process....just stay calm, they will send you a confirmation email within couples of days

  4. Hi Zicomania,

Can you please share what reason you used for EAD expedite and what evidence you attached? Also, did you request via phone?

    Thank you!

yes request via phone, you don't need to attach anything, I told them that i got a Job offer, without my EAD I would not be able to work, so the next day they send me an email that my EAD production order that i should receive it in the mail..

  5. So you called in and mailed a letter as well? Btw, do you remember the numbers that you dialed to reach a customer service rep? Thanks!

you just need to call the 1-800 on your NOA, and choose financial lost and explain why you want to expedite your EAD, you don't need to mail any letter. I expedite mine last week and i received an email that EAD production order which i should receive this week..

  11. Hi everyone,

I just mailed in my AOS packet today, and I realized I made an error on my application for EAD.

I currently have a EAD based on F-1 post-completion OPT, and on the new I-765 form, I checked "RENEWAL of EAD", instead of "Permission to accept employment". What should I do???

I'm hoping someone can help me with this! I really hope there won't be too much of a delay... :P

    I'm kicking myself right now.

I made the same mistake, but it does not matter..

  12. Hi! I got my tb skin test last few days, and they ask me to take an x-Ray for double check, the result was ok but the civil surgeon asked me to take the medicine (INH 300mg) for everydays for 6 months, he said I will be asked for the receipt of buying the medicines when I get the interview for Green card. I just wonder if I need to take it, coz I don't have tb .

Same situation with me too, I don't have TB but the doctor said i should take it, you might want to play safe here by keeping all the receipt before the interview, the medicine is cheap just 15bucks

  14. can someone describe or explain how the interview is? do we go in separate and get grilled with questions? my wife doesnt speak english and we need to bring an interpreter, and we're not sure exactly what to say to the interviewer. she had a under the table job bartendering from dec. til now but we're not going to say anything about the job because its under the table and she wont be able to get a letter from employer or a w-2/1099 for working in december....we're also alittle nervous because we dont have much supporting evidence. we have now been married since august, we didnt have a honeymoon because we didnt have money. we have pictures from our wedding and christmas and maybe a couple from this past weekend. we have one car, my work truck, and its in my name, we dont have a bank account together because she doesnt speak english or drive or have an income or go out really without me. our lease is in my name because i rented the apt. before she got here, and all bills are in my name except our cell phone bill which is in both our names. i also havnt done my taxes yet, but will bring my 1099 to the interview. we have all other documents that are necessary but should we have something to worry about? we also havnt taken any vacations or anything because of our money situation....this is a K1/K2 AOS interview.

You have to be honest about the bartender work, bcos it does not jeopardize the person from getting green card

  15. I'm adjusting status through marriage from an F1 visa. I already have an EAD. I'm planning to file all documents before my current EAD expires. What item should I mark in the first question "I am applying for"? Permission to accept employment or Renewal? Thanks for any input you can provide.

Permission to accept employment, bcos OPT EAD is different from C 9 categories bcos the one u had not expired

  16. So I had another consultation yesterday in regards to AOS- at the services of Foreign Born. Now, the lady pretty much told me to only include the marriage license and lease as proof of our relationship and to save the stock of other evidence we have for the interview. And while im a little be-dazzled and not in aggreance with the whole thing, I would like to hear some thoughts on the matter...

The more evidence you sent with your application the easier the interview process, because the IO saw all your supporting document for your bonafide marriage already.
