  1. No Im not royalty, Im just Queen because my fiance says Iam the Queen of Egypt. :) We have discussed my moving over there and his mother and father are always asking me to go sit over there with them and forget this nonsense. Immigration agent told me Egyptian families teach themselves to be hypocrites and fake liking you. I have spent 60 days straight with my fiance and family and I do not think you can fake liking somebody for such a long time. No, he would not drop me like a hot potatoe as we have alrady discuss this and maybe thats what we will end up doing. What do you think? You think it may be fake? pls. answer

Maybe your fiance means you are in fact the "Queen of De Nile" (Denial....) and it's an inside family joke; Do you realize that people can pretend for YEARS on end that they like someone? Especially if the end result will benefit them in some way.

Bottom line, I have to applaud all of the people who have responded thus far, I think you are all being honest and open and not sugar-coating it like I see so many other responders do. The Middle East/North Africa is in fact a very HIGH fraud area and what these people are saying about the cultural norms are very true. Do you really think there is a shortage of younger women of their own culture in their own country to marry? Most of these men do not even RESPECT American women, so in their minds, if they can put one over on you, then they have proven their point about American women.

But forget what I have to say, if you really love this man, then tell him you will go live in his country for 2 years and see how it goes. I would venture to say the same for the old guys who want the 19 year old wives--let them know you will come live in THEIR country for 2 years and then see if they still want the marriage. Imagine how much lighter the immigration paper load would be if this were the case.

I just don't want to see you posting on these boards in a year or so saying how he left you and you want to get him deported and why, oh why didn't the government warn you or protect you in any way.....there are plenty of posts on here like this, you can check into it yourself.

Just being honest folks, not trying to rile anyone up.

  2. Well our NOA1 was March 12th and I have yet to hear anything from them, so I don't even know how truthful they are being by saying they are working on March 19th. My case still says "Initial Review", no touches, no RFEs, nothing....very depressing.

When I called on August 12th (which was 5 months after my filing date), they told me that they were working on February 16th and that I should call back around September 24th. I am calling on September 12th (6 months after my filing date) to see if they can at least put in a request for investigation.

  3. :( Are those with NOA dates of March 11th and 12th on a Do not touch list? They really seem to have skipped over us and I haven't even gotten a touch or anything. Whewwwww I hate going to the USCIS website just to see the same "last activity date" every time. Its like a punch in the mouth each time I go there. I hope they haven't lost the folders with those dates.

I am starting to think the same thing! Our date is March 12th as well and we haven't heard ANYTHING nor did we get any RFEs or any Touches. I am getting so frustrated and sad. I hope we hear something soon since we can't even call untilt he 6-month deadline on USCIS's website.

  4. this could be helpful to many members who found themselves in sham marriage after

doing so much for their spouses and bringing them to US.

Do you think it's even worth it? The high majority of these people are so in love they will say "That may be true of other people, but MY relationship is real". They'll continue to say this even when the spouse has them sleeping on the couch or is spending all of their time with relatives. Even when the spouse wants to get a place of their own and make their own money (while still telling the US citizen "we just need time apart") , these people will still insist it's just "temporary". I base this on what I have heard and what I read on these boards.

Some people STILL won't even admit they are being used for a green card once the evidence is staring them in the face and the red flags are popping up all over.

It can happen to ANY ONE OF US, unfortunately. Some people are very good actors/actresses.

But good luck with the thread, if it helps even one person, it's worth it.

  5. I am seriously considering sponsoring my husband to live in Canada. American organizations are retarded and the immigration guidelines are as well.

Trust me when I tell you that the Canadian process is just as screwed up. My wife tried to get her Permanent Residency reinstated and they jerked her around for 6 months (this particular process was only supposed to take 30 days) only to deny her in the end after making her go to to 3 separate interviews where all they did was go over her answers to their questions and have her sign a paper that the answers were correct. A week later, they gave her orders to leave the country and told her if she didn't within 30 days they would issue a warrant for her arrest. She was treated like a common criminal. Then they turned around and told her if she wanted to come back, to just go to the States for one day and then turn around and come back!! HELLO! Talk about contradicting yourself.

When she was at Canada immigration getting a Record of Departure, the Border Patrol kept her there for 45 minutes trying to figure out why Canada Immigration had refused her reinstatement. She finally told them she did not want to contest it, she just wanted to leave.

The American process may seem "retarded", but it has the checks and balances for a reason and I don't appreciate you insulting the U.S.

Doesn't matter if it's the U.S. or Canada, it's no walk in the park.
