I just received one line email response to my inquiry that my interview is scheduled at chennai for 29thNov. My case was completed on 14th Sept, not sure why they would schedule for end of Nov. I was hoping for end of oct or early nov, this is disaster

That's crazy! I sent you an msg for clarification. Since my cc was Sep 10, does this mean I already have an interview date?

NVC lies about scheduling interviews in the second week of month only. I have seen people getting their interview letters every other time. Stupid NVC!

Yes 2nd week of month might be cut-off to complete scheduling interview for following month. But they are supposed to give atleast 5-6 weeks ahead of interview schedule. Also i guess K1/K3 get more slots than CR1/IR1

Yeah, Like I said, no logic, no consistency. Also K1/K3 getting more slots than CR1/IR1 doesn't make any sense. Right now a non citizen can come to India, get married and take his or her spouse to the US whereas US citizens have to wait 8 months!

But SimAsh, you/your spouse are doing the interview in Mumbai and the Oct schedule for Mumbai is up already, yes? Are you not on that list? I checked all three and only Mumbai's list is on the consulate's website. Crossing my fingers AND my toes :-)

Did not get any email today about interview. So i guess atleast for chennai i did not get into october.

I called them today (Friday). They reaffirmed what they told me earlier, I was not scheduled for Oct. Mumbai already has their list up, Delhi and Chennai do not.

Wait and Devraj: both of you got the same response; Good! that means there is still a chance that it will get scheduled by the end of the week, i.e. tomorrow. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

wait@nvc and Devraj: Only Mumbai's list is out for October (see http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/interview_appt_schedule.html). Delhi and Chennai folks still have a chance to get into the Oct list *fingers crossed*. Tomorrow is D-Day. I guess if we don't hear by end of business tomorrow, then its' November.

No, just confirmed case complete on AVR yesterday (case complete happened on Friday). Calling them won't speed things up, so I am going wait a couple of days and then call. They are taking about a week/7 working days to set an interview date. I am still hoping for a Oct interview.

Thanks Devraj, Bobby and Zeban. I sent the DS-230 and the I-864 on Aug 13. It arrived in NVC Aug 16; Receipted on the 17th. Today is Sep 10, so 19 working days since receipt...18 actually since we had labor day holiday; About 4 calendar weeks.

My expedite request was approved based off medical reports from dr. I am currently on FMLA due to a health condition, the report was sent to NVC, NVC forwarded it to Embassy and Embassy approved request, everything was handled by Suva Embassy and a few days after case complete, interview date and packet 4 was mailed in no time.

Did the NVC confirm/process your AOS yet ?

Everytime i see the name Desmond, it just keeps occurring to me that the guy on LOST signed for my package lol.

OK Zeban, we'll make sure your package is also signed by Desmond. As long as our packages don't get lost, I don't really care :-)

Not yet. Waiting for a package with many of the docs. Plan to send them both in the same package in the next week or so...
