  1. Mr. Sachinky wanted to bring me a bunch of flowers and a big banner reading "Mrs. Sachinky" at the airport but I told him to bring me 2 lbs of buffalo chicken wings and blue cheese instead. Then I want to go to a diner and order a large shake and fries with cheese and gravy.

OMG, a woman after my own heart! Seriously, I've been thinking about Wing House since yesterday night. We might just have to do a weekender to FL just to get some! rofl.gifrofl.gifrofl.gif

  2. Just for fun (killing time) offtopic45vn.gif

What's the first thing you & your SO plan to do when they arrive to US (minus the kinky stuff ohmy.gif )

For me, hubby misses Thai food so much (his favorite) that I am taking him straigh to a Thai restaurant so he can have his Tum Yum that he has been craving for a year now. After that, we will stop by Jack in the Box so he can have his favorite Milk Shake which he too has been craving for awhile (too bad they don't have the Chipotle sandwich anymore which he too loves).

But before all that happens, we may have trouble getting out the airport since it's the first time he will hold Gisele & see her in real life, there might be tears. Yes my hubby is knows to shed a tear to two at special moments (it's so cute).

I am so excited for you guys! I just love happy endings!

  3. hello everyone. can someone tell me when i should be expecting an interview date for my wife . her case was completed on april

21, 2010 at the nvc . i call them and they told me that my wife case was completed too late for an interview date . can anyone tell me when i should be expecting one

    thanks in advance.

Where will she be interviewing? It has a lot to do with what consulate she will attend for her interview.

  4. Guys.... I have a stupid question.

At the last minute, my joint sponsor's having cold feet and marital issues. For the sanity of all involved, she'd rather not sponsor if there is an alternative, but is willing to if there is no other option.

So we're working up the forms for my mom to be joint sponsor. We didn't do this from the beginning because it's tricky.

    Situation:

My mom and I live together in her house. We both pay household bills, but it's not specific. I don't pay rent to her.

2008 tax status was MFJ, still legally married and maintaining a residence with The Ex for various reasons despite the fact that our marital relationship had been over for a few years (Long Story). Mid 2009 saw our divorce finalized and my subsequent marriage to Husby. Mid 2009 also saw The Ex and I move to different residences. Like I said, I'm with my mom. My son is with me.

2009 taxes were HOH with one dependant because I provided (much) over half of the support for my son even though we are living with my mom and Husby wasn't with us for the last 6 months of the year. My mom's 2009 filing status is single with no dependants. Essentially, there are two distinct households at the same residence.

Stupid Question: Does my mom need I-864 or I-864A? I'm thinking I-864 because our taxes don't intermingle at all. It's only the address that's the same. Or is a shared residence alone enough to make one a "household member"? Or... do we have the option to take our pick in which form to use?

See? It's tricky. If done correctly, Husby will be here soon. If screwed up, it's either going to cause 221g request for the right form or it's lying on a government document. Either way, Husby would be in for a long wait.

I am in the EXACT same situation. I filed as HOH, I live with my sister, and she is the back-up sponsor in case I need proof of more income. She filled out the I-864A. Since we both live at the same address, she is considered a household member-even though she filed her taxes as 'single-no depends'.

  5. Ok folks, I think it's safe to take me off the waiting for SIF/CC list and put me on the waiting for interview email list.

Yes, that's right! After all the stress and heartbreaks and sleepless nights and dreams of a possible RFE, my day has finally arrived...Thank you Almighty!

I followed you guys' advice and went home, made my self some good food, ate it watching Final Destination2 and then Untraceable(both awesome movies btw) and then was about to turn in when I remembered that the payment portal updates at 10:30pm and so I decided to check at 11:30 and there it was... That sweet little message in red saying my case was not eligible for further processing at NVC and ... who cares! It's done, over with. I'm so glad I'm in time for a June interview.

Thank you to all of you at VJ who are my second family now for all the help, support, advice and courage you have provided me all along. Could never have done it without ya'll.

Now, where do I go to party? hmmm...

  6. So guys, a question....

How are you planning to bring the papers to the Embassy for the interview?

I have a BIG folder with 12 divisions and 2 photo albums with about 300 pictures.

How do you guys think I should carry that? In a backpack? I know some consulates don't allow big bags, do you think I'll be fine with a backpack?

ps- I won't take any electronic though.

I have a 20 pocket plastic accordion case, with each pocket labled with contents. It holds all my paperwork, as well as 2-4x6 photo albums. If they tell me I can't bring it in, then I can easily remove each leaf folder from its section and proceed that way...I think...

  7. Hey, look what I found:

    http://www.cis.org/marriagefraud

I felt bad posting information without being able to supply a source.

Be warned though, it's a looong article.

Also, the tone is definitely unfavorable to international marriages so bring your thick skin.

But I read it for the same reason I could occasionally be caught thumbing through a Cosmo "know thy enemy" (joke).

    Thank you for the info!

Wooow, 8 days! Amazing!! Remember how crazy we were last month about the interview date? Can you believe we are sooo close now?

About me.... well, I try not to think about the interview too much, but sometimes I can't help. Every time I think about it my heart pops out and I can barely fell my legs. Don't wanna know how it would be at the interview. I hope I can at least pretend I'm fine. rofl.gif

I'm planning on having a lot of passion fruit juice for breakfast before the interview to calm down, hubby laughs at me. He says the worst thing it can happen is that they delay us for some reason, but it wouldn't kill us. But still! Visa's interview is always a visa interview. I remember how nervous I was for my J1.

Hubby is a very nice and relaxed person, I joke with him sometimes saying the world isn't purple as he thinks, but at the end I think he is right, I'm sure when all this is over I'll feel stupid for being so nervous! lol

Anyway, one week and a half to go! I'll be leaving to Rio on Monday the 10th. Gotta do my medical on Tuesday and be ready for the interview on Thursday!

    God help us all!!!! girlwerewolf2xn.gif

Our husbands must be related. It's infuriating how calm he is. I'm freaking out over every little thing, and I'm not even the one that has to interview! headbonk.gif

P.S. If passion fruit juice really works, I think I'll buy about 20 gallons to get me to May 20th!

  9. Hey group! Can someone post the link to the required vaccination schedule, I can't remember where I saved it and am too tired to search helpsmilie.gif My husband never got the Hep B vaccine, he'll call in the morning to clarify everything and get it done ASAP if needed. It's 3 doses, so he's worried there may be a waiting period between doses.....figure it out tomorrow...YAWN!!!

    thanks group good.gif

It is 30 days, 4 hours, 13 minutes and 51 seconds until Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 9:00:00 AM (Tirane time)

You won't have to worry if he doesn't get all three-as long as he is up to date in the series, he can still pass the medical. My hubby is in the same situation and he probably won't get the last shot in the series until he's back here in the states.

  10. Ok, here is what I have so far, let me know if I am missing anything:

    Copy of the appointment letter

    2009 Taxes/W2/1099

    Copy of DS-230

    Copy of I-864

My BC, Chellie's BC, and marriage license

Ticket stubs, rental car receipts from visits to Toronto

    Phone records/IM logs

Bills in both our names, vehicle title/registration in both our names

Health insurance cards all three of us

    100+ photos of us/family/etc 2007-present

    Notarized letters from my parents

And then, just in case for some reason they think that me being above the poverty guideline is not enough:

A new I-864 that lists my sister as Joint Sponsor (we both own the house I live in now)

    I-864a for her

Her tax transcripts for the last 3 years

When I get to Toronto, I will collect Rich's paperwork from his medical, etc, and add it to this crazy pile of paper.

    Did I forget anything?

  11. Hubby and I were married in Florida. we didn't want to take any course, so we had to wait for 3 days after applying for the license before we got married. We went back 3 days later to get married-we both took a lunch break from work, met at the courthouse and got married, then went back to work. So the answer is no, you do not have to take the course if you don't want to. smile.gif
