Yeah, there should be another e-mail with the tracking number...ours came about 5 days after the message you just received, but we were on some kind of slow motion track

Then after that, you'll receive another e-mail telling you it that according to their records, it was delivered.

About that mystery guy...I really don't think they would be sending an investigator out at this point...if that was going to happen, it would have happened much earler, before you were approved. Also, if he saw you, I'm guessing a USCIS investigator would have turned around and come back. I'm thinking it's some kind of door-to-door thing going on there.

I received another text today so I check my status online and got this:

On October 24, 2013, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

but no tracking. Will there be another email with tracking? Oh well, as long as it arrives

Also, someone rang my doorbell today but I couldn't answer the door quick enough. When I looked out the window to see who it is, the man had already crossed the street and he had with him a folder and a camera with a pretty good zoom lens. He saw me as he was walking away but didn't bother coming back to my door. I was just wondering if its a USCIS investigator. I mean it could probably anybody but somehow that thought stuck to my head. The funny part is that I already received my approval letter, just waiting for the card.

Does the USCIS still send investigators out? I remember a friend telling me about a similar experience during his GC process but it was more than ten years ago. Does anyone know or has experienced this? Or was it someone from somewhere? Weird.

Card production was very slow for us...but I have no idea where it was done. We did get plenty of notifications when they finally started production, all the way thru getting the USPS tracking number when they shipped it. I have no idea why some seem to get it within a week of approval and others wait 3 (or more) weeks. Hang in there, it will come.

That's great news, cestlaviecherie. I *still* haven't received a text or e-mail about card production. No card, either. It's been almost 3 weeks. I'm starting to wonder if something's up.

Does anyone know if all the cards process from one center or are they done locally/regionally?

I think this should simply be included in a 'cover letter'. I did one with some success. I included a bullet list of what evidence I included in the package. This gives the reviewing officer a quick 'at-a-glance' view of what the package contains so he can immediately evaluate whether you have covered the basics (financial co-mingling, joint asset ownership/taxes and evidence you've been living together the entire time).

This type of stuff if exactly what a cover letter is for. It's your way of making the reviewing officer's job easy...he or she wants to approve you, but the boxes have to be checked. Notarizing, etc. is completely unnecessary...and the assumption about perjury or legal jeopardy is already baked into the cake...so no need to make such statements in the letter. Everything you send to them carries that assumption. It looks a little bit too defensive, I think.

Just my opinion, but it worked for us.

Hey Magdasal - and congratulations to you too!

Yes, I wasn't really near a computer the last few days. Also, it looks like our approval came from the Chicago office ... stamped signed by Mark J. Hazuda. Does anyone know where they actually print the green cards? Is this something that will take a while or is it done locally?

Yep, looks like many of these CSC transfers went to local offices, after all, without any notification...and I think that's good news for us (don't hold me to that though). I guess ours did, since the person who signed it is from an office in our state.

No idea about your second question about the green cards...so if anybody knows, pipe up.

Woohoo - got the approval letter last week. Date of decision was 9/11/2013! Was not expecting such a speedy process at all.

Checked online, but it still says "Initial Review"

Still can't believe it - I kinda want to see actual card first, but I may have to wait a few more days ... my birthday is in a couple of days - it would be awesome if that is my bday surprise in the mail.

Congrats! I figured there would be a couple more. Sounds like you sat on the good news for a few days.

Best of luck to all those still waiting...I have to say, things seem to be pretty fast this cycle, even for us transfers. Chin up and keep updating so we can all celebrate together.

Maybe it varies province by province, but you're absolutely nuts to drive in Mindanao. Seriously, people use the roads for all kinds of non-travel related purposes that will make you wish you had never thought of driving there. And if any 'incidents' occur and you happen to be involved...well, you'll be lucky to get out just draining your life savings. My advice is to never, ever, never, never drive anything there...really, you are risking it with a bicycle or roller skates.

BTW, if you are nuts, remember that headlights at night are totally optional (i.e. nobody uses them, even on 2 lane roads). Good luck and I hope you have a rich uncle.

OK, the signature block on our approval letter was from a local office near me...not anywhere near CSC. So, I think CSC is sending these (at least some of them) to local service centers to be adjudicated, as soon as they get them...or they aren't being sent to CSC at all...and being sent directly to local offices instead, despite what the NOA says. I got mine fast, so I think that may be good news, all the same.

I got approval letter today with decision date 09/19/2013. I filed at VSC and then the case was transferred to CSC but got approval letter from local USCIS office !!! I am so happy. Thank you all VJ members for help and support when required. So all those whose who filed at VSC in June 2013 should get the approval letter soon. I will update once again when I receive the card.

Wow, just got the approval letter out of the blue.

Weird thing...we were notified we were transferred to CSC...but the approval signature block on the NOA says it was approved in Charleston, SC. Maybe these are really being transferred to local offices?

hmm Im getting impatient lol. No updates since the transfer to CSC.. Im wondering if the people who got transferred are at the bottom of the pile.. just anxious. but Im thinking (hopefully) that if they were going to send us an RFE, they'd have sent it by now.. I hope trying to keep positive and patient.

I figure we lost 2 months compared to folks to filed directly with CSC simply because our cases just sat at VSC and gathered dust until they were transferred.

Magdasal.... I did not get any other kind of notification, I still dont get any e-mail or SMS in my phone, I went to uscis.gov my case shows as last updated on 06/17/2013 (my Noa1 date)

Something is up...my case and user account disappeared from the USCIS website (CRIS). I could no longer log into my user account this morning...it said too many failed log in attempts or inactivity (neither of which is true). I tried directly searching my case status with my NOA receipt number and it says there is no case on file.

~~I'm not sure that SIF exists for ROC...I've never heard anybody mention it before. A glitch?~~

Nevermind, I'm a dope. I was using the wrong receipt number.

Oh my God!! I just realized that most April applicants and even some May applicants had been approved!!!!! we are next!!!!, I am very excited, I cannot wait to have my new 10 years Green Card on my hand.
